If your are allowed a cell phone in school and you get caught doing something you shouldn't, you could get in trouble. If cell phones weren't allowed in school there wouldn't be problems over the phone. If you have a phone in class it is a distraction from your learning. If your were a teacher would you want your students to have phones. Students would be on their phone while they should be doing homework. As students we go to school for seven hours. In those seven hours there is no reason they need to be on there phone. School is for learning, not looking at a phone. Having a phone in school puts others at risk (Rossi, Madison). When students are on their phones they take pictures. The could take inappropriate pictures in the locker rooms. That could hurt the person being the victim. Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania took a survey of 1,800 college students to see how students use their phone in class to on social media. 69% said yes, I use my phone in class (Schoenberg, Nara). Those 69% had a lower GPA overall, but sometimes using your phone in class is useful. Phones can be important because you could be in math class and need to use a calculator. That is more understandable. You could have to text someone about something important, and when you could ask and see if thy would let you at the beginning of class. I don't think these tactics ably to high schoolers and middle schoolers. When you go to school for seven hours everyday, there is no reason you should have to go in your phone to check social media. If you need to text your mom, dad, or etc. about how you are getting home then you can go to the office and call them. If students are on their phones it is very distracting and is hard to listen. If college students are dropping there GPA from social media, middle and high school are too. Having a phone in class is hurting your
