Lead character, Bianca, is the main character and the lead protagonist of the movie, “The Duff.” Bianca is short, about 5’4’’, and is a little bit on the heavier side. She dresses for comfort and cares less about her looks and more about her friends and school work. The most worn shirt in her closet is her “party shirt”, a black cotton tee-shirt that has the word “party” printed on the front. If only one article of clothing was used to summarize her whole wardrobe, it would be this shirt. Bianca is often shown as very kind to the people that she cares about, going the full mile for anyone who needs it. In the beginning of the movies she was always at her friends sides making sure they were havening fun and feeling confident. She is an odd mix of secure and shy. Although she comes across and a secure girl, who does not worry about the opinions of others, she become very shy when she is around a boy that she has a crush on. When Bianca tries to talk to her crush, at the start of the movie, the most she could muster was a “Hey.” She is rather unpopular at school and is only know through her two friends that are considered very good looking. She only has two close friends, Jess and Casey, but is valued deeply by them, despite not seeing this at first.

While they may fight to make their own choices, these young adults have little to no say in what they will become later in life.

This theory states that this conflict is resolved positively when adolescents achieve an identity after a period of exploration and inner soul searching. If a young person’s earlier conflicts were resolved negatively or if society limits their choices to ones that do not match their abilities and desires, they may appear shallow, directionless, and unprepared for the challenges of late adulthood. (p. 314). Maeve luckily didn’t make many choices that were resolved negatively. These social and emotional changes weren’t always easy for the rest of the family to deal with, but they were a part of her growth. The thesis of the film “Chasing Ice” is to portray the extreme climate change we are facing today. The film has a clear goal of showing visually the danger we are causing our planet by denying climate change. The aim of the film is to show us visually that climate change does exist and it is happening at a rapid rate. The film does a good job at providing evidence that climate change is happening, by capturing footage of the changes occurring over short periods of time. These videos captured by James Balog’s recording devices make it almost impossible to deny climate change and that is precisely the purpose of the film.

This speech was portrayed word for word in the Disney film, Miracle, released in 2004 directed by Gavin O’Conner. Although Herb Brooks’ rhetoric sounds as if he is referencing the Cold War, that did not seem to be the case. Herb’s rhetoric seemed to be solely hockey driven: his significant playing and coaching career as well as his astonishing dedication to the game uncover his motivation prior to the miracle game. Close analysis and research reveals Herb and his players have rejected many attempts of being used as a political pawn after defeating Russia in the miracle on ice. This victory indeed boosted the nation’s spirits regarding the war, but the game had little to no impact on the outcome between the two governments.

When I was growing up, I remember my family situation as extremely chaotic. I was one of eight children and my father and mother had little time to devote to me individually. Most of the time they spent trying to earn enough to support us with their meager resources. I was often called upon to act as a surrogate mother to my siblings. I felt I had little time to develop my own unique perspective and voice when I was very young. Even as a preschooler I remember doing chores to help out at home. However, this situation did foster some positive aspects of my character. I learned to be mature at an early age and gained a sense of competence because of my responsibilities. But I also was taught put the needs of others second to my own.
