Our technology is not as advanced as western countries. It has been my dream since i was a kid to go abroad and learn in these countries where the technology is more advanced. That is why i decided to pursue a master’s degree in the US to get experience i won’t be able to get from my country. I am now 21, i want to deepen my knowledge while I am still motivated to study and learn. After some research, I trust Clemson University with its good reputation in computer science field, i believe i can land in my dream job after graduation and grasp how the system works. In addition to that, people who has a master’s degree especially from the US will outstand most of the competitors in my country. Aside of being outstanding, the reason why i want a master’s degree in computer science is because this field of study is interesting to
I, Ronnishia Thomas should be selected to take part in the CLAHEC CI:Healthcare 2017 program. I should be selected because it is an exciting opportunity that I would like to take advantage of. I am a senior and I want to make sure I'm choosing the career best for me. I've been saying that I want to be an Obstetric Sonographer since the beginning of time and I'm not sure if I want to change it or not. I want to explore Radiologic Technology, Surgical Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Forensic Science, and more. One thing about me is that I love to help people. I believe that it's important to have a trait as such when wanting to pursue a career in the medical field. I think this program will benefit me because I haven't started college and this
In today’s extremely competitive, job-scarce economy, having a college degree is now a steadfast requirement when applying to even entry-level professional jobs. Choosing a college has always been a challenging task for high school seniors, but it is now fraught with stress and anxiety for nearly every adult who seeks to further their education. Questions abound: what school offers the exact program I desire? What school is in the best location, or has the best campus? What school feels ‘right’?
It was about two years ago that I first heard of Macalester College. One of my schoolfellow that has been a Mac student for a year told me about the life and studying experience for the past year. That was the time that I began to like this school, for its diversity in studying and high-quality life experience. One of the reasons that I want to go to America for college is that I want to learn more expansive knowledges and to learn more about people from different countries to broaden my horizon. Macalester s known for its large international enrollment and has one of the highest percentages of foreign students in the United States, which is really good for me to join . Also since English is not my native language, I have been
When I was a senior in high school I was accepted to Penn State and a few other schools, and was really pleased with how I had done at the end of my four years at my school, Council Rock North. But after a few weeks of investigating the potential costs and realizing that my savings would not be able to cover the costs of attending a 4 year school without putting my family and myself in a lot of debt, I realized that I could instead go to the local community college. I really liked this option because it allowed me to explore many of my passions for Computer Science without making a huge investment and locking myself into a certain path. Having now spent the last 2 years at Bucks County Community College, I've really deepened my passion for
I got an undergraduate degree in Biological Engineering, and now I'm in IST to take a master degree in the same area.
At this current time, I have been a pupil at Robert clack for 5 years (including this school year), and throughout my time at Robert Clack I have tried to embark in every opportunity given to me and following this I have grown, learned and gain multiple experiences and skills that I will need later in life. At the end of the year, I shall be taking my GCSE examinations in Maths, English, Music, ICT, Spanish, History and science, and I really hope to do particularly well in maths since, I need at least a 7 to do A-Level maths, additionally it would look really good on my CV.
My interest in SCORE program stems from the desire to learn. I do not have any experience with clinical research, therefore, I am eager to both learn and gain experience. I feel that the SCORE program is a great opportunity to participate in research. I believe that clinical research is an essential step that leads to medical discoveries that helps make our lives better. I want to help make lives better through clinical research.
I spent three years at Northern Virginia Community College and transferred to a four-year university to earn a B.A degree. Although I have a degree from my country, I started from the beginning because I wanted to change my major. As my interest varies, I have two areas that I like interchangeable. My undergraduate degree was focused on natural science. While, information technology was not my first major, during my first year in college I thought about double major in computer science but I did not because I had to graduate and start working. I graduated with B.A in biology and immediately began working as a Medical Technologies. Working as a medical technologist, I noticed my interest in the computer system at my workplace as well as I am good at troubleshooting whenever we have a computer problem in the lab. Knowing that I have a passion for computer technology, I started looking an opportunity to attend online degree. After long planning and thinking, I began a master degree in information technology this year at UMUC. Though, I like biology and natural science, having my Master degree in Informatics will give me satisfaction as well as a good job long after I graduated. So far, I have understood that Information technology is a fascinating career field and equally
Gender norms and socioeconomic trends have painted the image that female, first-generation Hispanic college students like myself are unlikely to succeed in the natural sciences. In high school, this misconception instilled a lot of self-doubt in me and led me to question whether I was capable of pursuing a career in the sciences. However, as I have delved into my undergraduate studies, my insatiable curiosity about the natural world and growing self-confidence have come to overshadow my doubts. By further boosting my confidence and financially securing my academic studies, the CMS scholarship will help me achieve both my academic and personal goals.
While majoring in computer science will give me many number of job choices, I have the goal of becoming a software engineer and maybe owning my own business in the field of computer science. I believe that I will be able to obtain my desired career choices with a combination of hard work and passion for what I am doing. I already have a strong passion for programming and I feel that majoring in computer science will only feed my passion even more. I also have a desire to start my own business that is involved with computer science. I know that these goals are hard to achieve, but I know I will work hard and work intelligently to obtain my
Computer Science, Software Engineering and Information Systems are international qualifications, enabling people to work globally, and in a very broad variety of roles. There is steady growth in demand for technically adept and flexible IT graduates. Declining student enrollment, while growth continues in law, medicine, biology, economics, and business; the decline among women is particularly alarming (Klawe and Shneiderman 27). Computer science is now a part of everyone’s daily life through the innovations and technologies it enables. From transforming health care to enabling a more robust national defense, computer science is on the forefront of discovery, driving economic growth and transforming our
Over the past five years, the number of students majoring in Computer Science at the University of Maryland has grown rapidly. Class sizes will be larger leading to poor performances in the computer science student body. Some of these students will graduate with skill sets directed towards declining careers. The University of Maryland needs to limit the enrollment of students majoring in Computer Science.
Practically, to complete all of your major’s requirement and achieve your undergraduate’s bachelor degree is not a simple matter. It requires a passionate heart and lots of effort in the process. In general, university expects its graduates to have certain kind of skill and mentality that high school or college graduates may not possess. Over 2300 graduated students have participated in a survey by AGCAS regarding university’s expectation over its graduates, and “over one third of respondents believe that the university has the main responsibility in preparing them for working life.” As a Seattle University’s student majoring in Electrical Engineering, in order for me to secure my future working life and mingle with future work
The Master degree gave me motivation to pursue my PhD in Information System. During my undergrad studies I had a one internship. During my internship, I was working in National Guard hospital as a developer using visual basic and Oracle to develop websites; I learned to convert end users ' needs into computer models by designing data flow and entity-relationship diagrams. I also worked with the database administrator responsible for managing the project, which required me to learn UNIX to write some commands in that language. In addition, I was able to expand my programming language skills by learning several languages such as Java, ASP.NET. The success of learning and converting the theoretical knowledge to practical
During my third year in Wipro Technologies, I made a decision of pursuing Masters of Science to become more equipped in the technical field that I am already working in and then pursue MBA to become a Management Consultant. I adhered to my plan and completed my Master’s degree in Information Systems at University of
