Clinical Practice Learning Reflection

Kolb (1984), describes learning as an activity as a relatively change in behavior due to experience whereby knowledge is gain through the conversion of experiences. Learning thorough reflection is an essential tool in practice based on personal professional learning setting where learning took place from the individual own professional experiences, (Bolton, 2010). Therefore this reflection essay aims to critically evaluate my clinical practice learning experiences and my current higher education learning process and how effectively lifelong learning was managed towards my own personal professional development.

According to Marek, (2013), students more confidence and engaged when their preference learning style is addressed in learning process. Therefore, pragmatism learning approach (Honey and Mumford, 1986) has been identified as my learning style where theory and practice are combined, (Duff and Duffy, 2002) and provided opportunities for me to link theory to practice in clinical setting by delivering high quality nursing care. Continuing higher education has a potential to develop attributes such as critical ability and thinking, convenience, communication, and ability to adopt to change, (Levett-Jones, 2005). In particular it becomes evidence that undertaking higher education encouraged me to develop new skills as an illustration on previous experience was not going to be enough.
