Many things will change in fifteen years. For example, technology will innovate people will grow, we would have made new discoveries, and I will be older. However, I am only 13 years old right now. I live in Tucson, Arizona with my family of seven people. I am a quiet, friendly, and hardworking person. I enjoy reading, listening to music, solving brain teasers, being active, and occasionally writing stories. I do not enjoy waking up early, hurting anyone’s feelings, and sometimes public speaking. I am very good at memorizing and learning things quickly. I can also play piano fairly well, but I prefer to be even better. This is who I am now, but my personality may become different as I get older.
In fifteen years, I will be a content, successful 28 year old woman. The majority of my interests consist of the arts, such as culinary and music, which are what I wish to study in college. At the moment, I would like to pursue a career as a doctor when I grow up, specifically either a physician or a pediatrician. To do so, I will have to hold a medical/doctoral degree. This will take about seven to twelve years of medical school to obtain this degree. After I become a doctor, I do not think I

I will spend most of the days aiding ill patients. Once I start working, I will be making around $173,000 with this job. I desire to work with other people when I am older, and since I will be a doctor, I will be forced to do this. My motivations for pursuing this career are satisfaction and money. I would like to have money for two reasons: one reason is to support my family and myself and the other reason is to lend a hand to the poor and less-fortunate. I also yearn to help many people. I want to economically support homeless and/or poor people in any I can. For example, I may start a company that does that, but when, I myself am financially and emotionally

I am in the process of earning my nursing degree and I will be graduating in December 2016. This position will help me gain the experience needed to take a step into the professional nursing world. This hands-on experience will be essential in helping me prepare myself to work as a nurse in the future.
A Registered Nurse is a person who enjoys helping other people. They practically have the responsibility for many peoples lives. What’s interesting about a Registered Nurse is that they get to learn about all the parts of the human body. A Registered Nurse works in the medical field and needs to be ready with anything that comes their way. There could be a sudden death, some kind of medical issue that pops up, and even a patient just falls over and hurt themselves. As a Registered Nurse they need to be able to deal with blood, snot, vomit etc. The main thing a Registered Nurse has to be good at is being able, and wanting to help people in need.
A day in the life as a CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) can have its ups and its downs. As a CNA you can work in a couple different areas of the nursing field, you have options of where you want to be and you are not finite to any certain place. Most CNA’s start out working in a nursing home then exude to other places such as hospitals. As a nurse aide you have many options of being in a certain field of nursing. That is what I love about nursing; it is versatile and you can work wherever you want in the country. You can travel and see places you haven’t seen while doing what you love to do as a career.
As of 2008, there were about 753,600 Licensed Practical Nurses and 2,618,700 Registered Nurses in the United States (U.S. Department of Labor, 2010-11). In the year 2018, the LPN employment percentage is expected to rise 21% while the RN rate should be approximately 22% (U.S. Department of Labor, 2010-11). This may not seem that high, but it is, when one considers that the expected employment rate for a Dentist is only expected to be 16% (U.S Department of Labor, 2010-11). Nursing is a highly respected and sought after career because every person that enters this profession is able to make a difference and is needed by the general population for his/her skills and contributions to the medical field. When a person is contemplating entering
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” As a child, we have all been asked this question; and as unrealistic children, we all had dreams of being a superhero, princess, cowboy, or astronaut. Later on in life, as time went by, and as we became more knowledgeable, our answers became more serious. Some of us wanted to be teachers, business owners, or a veterinarian. However, I have always wanted to be a doctor, but not just any doctor. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a pediatrician. Now, half way through my junior year in high school, I have started to question the details of this career, and all the hard work it takes to become a part of the medical field.
Why a nurse? As a little kid, I wondered what would be my purpose in life. As a fourth-grader, I care for all animals (large and small) and thought that, maybe, dog breeding was my future calling. For multiple reasons, this was not the right path for me.
In the future, I hope to pursue a career related to the brain, preferably neurology or neurosurgery. My father has led a research project on traumatic brain injuries, and from the start, he informed me on every step. His constant updates kept me engaged and invested in his project, and passionately curious about the brain’s myriad of functions This previous school year, I took AP Psychology, which only furthered my interest in the brain. Each day, I looked forward to that class and routinely spent time reading in depth about many of the topics. I am also very passionate about the medical field which most likely stems from having both parents working in the medical field. A series of classes offered at my school have provided me with the unique opportunity to become a certified nursing assistant at the conclusion of the upcoming school year.
I believe that nursing is both and art and a science consisting of psychosocial and biological sciences that work together to continually improve the health care field. I believe that with the knowledge and clinical experience from the TVCC ADN program I will be able to provide the best care possible to the people in the community. As a nurse it is important to carry the attributes of being caring, compassionate, understanding, non judgmental, realistic, open-minded, honest, ethical, and moral. I also feel that it is important to maintain sensitivity to all cultures when providing care.
I was always undecided regarding the career that I wanted to pursue. As I got older and looked at many choices in careers I realized that I wanted to have a career in the medical field. Being a nurse interests me because it requires the study of the human body along with other great opportunities that nurses have in this career. I want to become a nurse because I like being able to help those who are in need.
Nursing is defined as “as an application of scientific knowledge enhanced by artful practice in a socially responsible manner.” (Gregory 5). Nurses provide leadership as members of interdisciplinary teams, provide client centered care to promote health, prevent disease, and restore and maintain client integrity throughout the life span. (Krannich 71). This makes it one of the most interesting professions, in my opinion.
Ive always wanted a rewarding career that revolved around helping people. I want to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner. I am not sure on what specialty I want. So given a assignment in my Introduction Health Sciences class where I have to shadow a nurse practitioner, it gives me the opportunity to explore a specialty and see what it really is like in their typical work day. An advanced practice registered nurse, by the name of Mary Carlson at Parkland Medical Center was willing to let me shadow her for a day. Carlson graduated with her BSN from Boston College. She then pursued a graduate degree from Boston University. Her official title is, Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Medicine.
Registered nursing is among the top 10 occupations with the largest job growth’’ according to The Bureau of Statistics but why? Registered nursing is all over the world. In every hospital you will find many registered nurses because it is a good career to get into. There are many external factors that have influenced my choice in the career I wish to go into, these are the area of nursing so adult or children, my qualification are they the best I can get and what else can I do but also the university I wish to go to, the money side so do I have the money to do the course do I have to get a loan or can I get a bursary and also my family as their opinion matters and do I wish to be close to them. This will discuss why I have picked nursing as a career and what I think is right for me. Firstly, the type of career I have always wanted was to be able to help and care for others in a busy environment, where something is always happening. I felt adult nursing was best as I could work in “hospitals and nursing homes, schools and colleges, HM Forces, and the prison services” (national careers service, 2012).
One of the many goals of the nursing profession is to provide high-quality, safe patient care. There are many responsibilities that come with a nursing career and when the nurse to patient ratio increases, there is a possibility that it may hinder the safe care that patients deserve, and this may result in negative patient outcomes and level of satisfaction. Staffing is one of the many issues that healthcare facilities face. In many facilities, there never seems to be enough nurses per shift to provide high quality, thorough patient care which often leads to burnt out staff, and frustrated patients and families. This review discusses the findings of quantitative studies and one systematic review that involves patient outcomes in relation to nurse staffing.
