Company X 's Attitude Towards Being Socially Responsible

Company X’s attitude towards being socially responsible is being clouded by its desire to maintain high profits. With its current actions, Company X is catering to a select group of its primary stakeholders such as the investors and shareholders. They seem to be forgetting that the customers, employees, and the community are also primary stakeholders. We will look into the scenario and dissect the company’s actions to show how they are alienating the community that will ultimately determine their reputation and profitability. Taking years to comply with repeated requests for healthy and organic options demonstrates a dismissive attitude towards one of the key aspects of their company “the customer”. Eventually, Company X complies with the customers repeated requests and provides healthier options. Unfortunately, the healthier products Company X provides are high margin products. Many of the high margin healthier products are unobtainable for most lower and middle class families. The limited amount of high priced healthy products may become a negative for Company X. It may appear to customers as ploy to increase the sales on processed foods which would be more profitable to the stores. Processed foods are easier to ship and have a longer shelf life that fresh and organic foods. The processed items are also cheaper to produce and can create higher revenue for Company X.
