against Muhammad and his followers became especially brutal. Muhammad had received a number of threats against his life, including attempted assassinations. In order to protect both himself and his people, Muhammad sent his followers, which consisted of about 60 separate families, to the town of Yathrib. Muhammad himself traveled to Yathrib secretly shortly
The various roles of Muhammad had a significant impact on the fundamentals and growth of the Islamic religion. Upon understanding the assigned articles, an affinity is evident of the roles of Muhammad from different perspectives. According to these articles Muhammad is described as prophet who is immune to sin and a quintessential human being. This representation of Muhammad led to people wanting to follow in his steps which led to “the establishment of ritual and legal norms that, in principle, governed the habits of an emerging Islamic civilization.” The roles that seem to be the default are a messenger of God, a lawgiver, and a perfect human being. From the articles, the role of a Deity is not evident. The question if this is considered worship arises because worship is defined as expressing reverence and adoration toward a deity, not a human being.
Many people in the United States don’t realize how different all the religions around the world are however, there are also the same in many ways as well. The religions that are going to be talked about, are two religions that are commonly known across the world. Christianity has over 2 billion followers across the world. The Islamic religion has about 1.6 billion followers around the world. The word followers is referred to the people who believe in the certain religion, it does not mean that these people are huge followers, however. There are many facts about the Christianity and the Islamic religion, but each one has differences and similarities that are worth mentioning.
In 1930, Poole met Fard Muhammad, who believed that it was time for the blacks to return to Islam, supposedly the religion of their ancestors. He became devoted to the religion, and, in 1934, was given the title "Supreme Minister." In 1942, he was jailed for evading the draft. The draft called for all males between the ages of 18 and 44 to join, and he refused, on claims that he was 45 and that his religion forbid it. Muhammad was then released at the end of the war, and found a likeness of himself in Malcolm X, which was one of the young new Muslims who had joined the Nation of Islam after the war. When he was released in 1946, he was undisputed head of the nation of Islam. Later in the 1950s Muhammad claimed X as his best disciple. Then,
As of today, Christianity and Islam are the world’s two largest and rapidly growing religions. They share an estimated 3.6 billion followers, more than half of the world’s population. Initially the two religions may seem to have nothing in common, but when you go beyond the surface and examine the rituals, beliefs, and founders, as well as the spread of both religions, they share many similarities. In many ways, there is irony in tension between Christianity and Islam, given the extremely similar history and nature of their religions. It is perhaps lost on many people who subscribe to these religions that there is no more truth to one than the other. But when observed from an objective viewpoint it is undeniable that both Christianity and Islam are remarkably similar in origin and ideology. In order to see and understand their similarities, it is important to look back to the birth and rise of both religions.

Arabia was a vacant wasteland of desert, rarely seeing any life besides that of the trade caravans. City states dominated the political life and the only form of centralized government was in chaos. Jesus and Muhammad are two very different individuals that have kind of a similar history and at the same time a very different history. They both break off from an established religion and started their own. They had been banished by the other religions and the cities they lived in. Most religions are thought to be separate and different than any other religions. As one reads more into different religions, I saw that many of them are bits and pieces of a prior religion. These two individuals are from different religions and have done some similar things and have more things in common than are known.

Many religions have impacted the thoughts and beliefs of millions around the world. Two of these religions are Islam and Christianity, both of which are similar, yet, incredibly different. Christianity, which had come long before Islam, is known to be the root of Islam which makes sense since the two religions share much in common. They are both Abrahamic and monotheistic religions which means they share the belief in only one true existing God and are rooted to have many similarities. Their differences, however, are what make them two distinctive religions, which is why they are recognized and classified for being so. Similarities and differences arise in many topics and situations, but differences take over and divide them into
