Compare and Contrast High School versus College Essay

Many people wonder what the difference between elementary school and middle school is. Middle school is usually between grades 6-8 depending on the part of country you are in, and elementary school is typically grades k-5. This being my final year of middle school I know what is similar, and different between them.

High school teachers and College Professors are alike in many ways but in some cases they differ. Most High school teachers will always check your assignments, they will take the lead, and they usually have a quick response time. On the other hand, College Professors don’t always check the assignments, they expect the students to take the lead, and usually have a slower response time. High school teachers and College Professors differ in many ways such as checking your work, how they lead, and their response time. All of these aspects attribute to the learning environment and how they interact with their students.

College is a beneficial, life changing event for most people who choose to attend. College is like a life coach breathing intelligence into its students making it easier to navigate through life. College not only provides students with an education, but college also helps foster life skills. A college degree not only provides stable career opportunities which come with: benefits, promotion opportunities and higher wages, but a degree also allows graduates to choose their own career paths and passions. The college experience provides students with plenty of fun social opportunities to form long lasting relationships, make lifelong friends, and long time memories which help enhance social skills. College helps enrich the lives of many.

The transition from middle school to high school can be very large. Not only are you in an entirely new situation from a social perspective, you are also in an entirely new academic situation. As a freshman at a Catholic high school, your teachers are going to expect that you produce your best work at all times. You will be held to very high academic standards, and more work is going to be expected of you than it was in middle school. Here are a few study tips to help you make it through your first few months of high school.

Naomi Klein focuses on the effects of globalization. In A Web of Brands, Klein looks at how the changes of the garment industry in Toronto connect to the factories of Jakarta, Indonesia. Chitra Divakaruni argues that the United States attempts to stop the practices of indentures, would have terrible consequences even though the efforts are well intended.

College is like a steeping stone to becoming a responsible adult because for the first time most people are practically on their own. It is completely different from high school in that not only that school has to be dealt with, but you have to juggle your personal time and financial state as well. They go away to college and face circumstances that they would most likely come across when they finally do go on their own. Bills have to be paid, time has to be managed efficiently, and deadlines have to be met, just like in the "real world."

Along with gaining social skills and great networking opportunities, college is a place to learn how to work hard and become a self-reliant person.

Unlike high school, people don’t normally get one try to get it right the first time! College, for most is a critical development into adulthood. College teaches beyond the classroom and sheds light on certain attainable humanly characteristics. Such as: perseverance, hard work, integrity, love, admiration, and respect which allows one to find oneself using knowledge.

The transition from high school to college is a notoriously daunting experience for students entering, arguably, the most important years in their lives. Everything that a student has come to know about academics, for the most part, are to be radically challenged. Many different factors go into the change, and any particular one can be enough to overwhelm any given student into becoming an emotional wreck. Whether it be living on one's own for the first time, drastic schedule changes, or becoming socially involved, these responsibilities are just three examples, among the seeming hundreds. However, a perfect balance between these responsibilities is a major key in not allowing the stressors to take one captive.

College is a place many things can happen. Some people say that college is a place where you find who you are and that it is also where you get to experience the real world and you get to meet new people and become an adult. On the other hand, people say college is a stressed filled place where students get four hours of sleep a night and you become in debt with college fees. And then there’s the few people that say it’s all about partying and just having fun. What is true about college is that it’s a place where students continue their education for hopefully a future career and you meet new people and experience new things too.

The fascination of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn still stays strong to this day. We often find ourselves loving the idea of these two flawless icons. Everyone wanted to be them then, and it is still true today. They were two major icons in the 1950’s. They were two beautiful, inspirational women. Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn really did live the lifestyles of the rich and the famous. Most people only see the similarities, but in fact, they are more different than some may think.

College means a different thing for people but one thing for sure is, it is freedom. Coming straight out of high school, we first college students have no longer families or teachers help in academics or other things on large scale than high school. Well in college, we are thought to be a responsible person to go to class on time, sleep on time and navigate through out the campus so that you would be familiar with classes and know where to seek help from. Being in college, you cannot even be late to your some of the classes due to the attendance policy. And the example of this is when one time I was late for 3 minutes to my one of classes called ASU 101. Yes, three minute and the professor reduced my attendance grade to 50%. I could not believe how series even the attendance is.

Have you ever experienced the transition from high school to middle school? Many students that go from middle school to high school are worried about the big changes in the environments. Although there are many differences between middle school and high school, there are also many similarities.

average high school student is overwhelmed by the amount of work they have to accomplish by a
