Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the two Presidential nominees for 2016 but are either of them ready for the job at hand? 126,144,000 people or 57.5% of the population that are expected to vote in the 2016 Presidential election.(Statistic Brain) Both candidates have faced dislike among voters, a small voter turnout, and loss of votes because neither candidates think before they speak. Hillary Clinton has won over some of Trump’s Republicans because of his ludicrous actions. Many Republicans think Hillary is highly qualified and has great ideas for women and kids.(Packer) During the primary election Clinton’s opponent Bernie Sanders won over almost all of the young voters ages 17-22, but since Bernie was eliminated Clinton may have a chance
On November 8th, 2016, the United States will finally have its presidential election for the 45th President of the United States of America. This election will be a grating race between a number of political parties and their respective nominees. Two parties are more notable than the others, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. The Democratic Party has a well-known nominee; Hillary Clinton, who has served as secretary of state, and has been the senator of New York, she has also been the first lady of the U.S while her husband, former president Bill Clinton was in office (Hillary For America). Mrs. Hillary Clinton is mainly a candidate for president because of her experience and great attributes. Alongside Clinton is Mr. Donald J. Trump, who is the respective presidential nominee for the Republican Party. Donald Trump is a well-known billionaire real estate personnel, who rose up to his status due to his great business intellect (Donald Trump Biography). In like matter, there are other nominees for president; however, Trump and Clinton are the two that are most significant and one if not the other will eventually overtake the position as President of the United States. Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are formidable
The Presidential election is one of the most heated topics in our media today. Although there are other candidates running for president, it seems Donald Trump, and Hillary Clinton are the two candidates talked about the most in the media. They are well known for their political arguments that are televised across the nation. Some say that neither of these candidates should win, and others would disagree. Does either candidate have what it takes to become the president of the United States of America? In my opinion, neither candidate should be elected as president. An explanation as to why neither candidate should be elected are the pro’s and con’s that both candidates have
In the 1980’s, the United States was in a recession. Clinton’s presidency helped America get out of the red and was finally out of debt. During this time, crime rates rose as well as poverty and unemployment. Bill Clinton was elected in 1992 as a Democrat, and ran again in 1996 to be re-elected. Clinton’s Presidency consisted of many improvements within the nation, but also the collapse of his reputation. Throughout his presidency, Clinton was charged with perjury and obstruction of justice due to an affair with Monica Lewinsky. Although Clinton was a member of the Democratic Party, he worked with the Congressional Republicans throughout his presidency, in order to unite the two parties while he was in office. Both Clinton and the Republican
November will be approaching soon and will be time to elect our next President. Bernie Sanders is a seventy-four-year-old male running for the Democratic party. Hillary Clinton is the wife of Ex-President Bill Clinton and also running for the Democratic party. Donald Trump is a businessman running for the Republican nomination to be the President of 2016. Ted Cruz is a senator from Texas and a candidate for the Republican nomination. Jill Stein is a physician and activist who is currently running for the Green Party nomination.
Mrs. Clinton has thirty years in the politics field; she has been Senator of New York, First lady of the U.S., and Secretary of State. She has the necessary background to back her up for this presidential race and that makes her a strong candidate for president. As another candidate, we have Mr. Donald Trump who has a limited background in politics. Mr. Trump has no experience in politics at all and his actions are not the best for a president, he has too much anger against others and the way he expresses himself is not proper for the post he wants. His being a businessperson may attract the Republican voters, but being successful as a businessperson does not make him a good option for the president of his country. If that were the case, Bill Gates would have been
One of the keys to Clinton winning this election is turning red voters blue. Conversely, that is not happening quite yet for Clinton. Yes, there are some republicans that are determined to never voting for Trump, however, a reasonable moderate-right contender could arise as a candid substitute instead of Donald Trump. For example, Bill Weld who has a widespread history with Clinton has agreed to join Gary Johnson on a probable Libertarian Party ticket. Now, Republican leaders will not have to be forced to vote for Clinton and instead have the option to vote for Trump or Johnson as well. In the meantime, other anti-trump republicans will still refuse to vote for Clinton; and as a result will boost his numbers in important states such as Iowa, Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida. If Hilary ends up losing this November, her supports will feel stupid that they did not lock in moderate republicans
When speaking about Democrats, he says, “as much as they love Sanders, they loathe Donald Trump more. It seems more evident each day that Republicans have lost their collective reason and are beginning to accept the notion that Trump will be their nominee” (Milbank). Many people view Donald Trump as being out of his mind and a threat to the country if he were elected. Even if he has consistently been in the top two candidates of the Republican Party for polls, he is greatly hated by many of his own party. It is nonsensical to argue that he would somehow have an edge over Sanders in a main election when he inspires such rage in a large amount of the population. If Trump won the nomination, it is possible that some Republicans would not vote so as to avoid supporting him. The other top candidate of the Republican Party, Ted Cruz, is also viewed by many as being unelectable in a general election. He is a far right candidate who is unwilling to compromise and is not well liked even within the senate. Overall, there is no logical reason to believe that the top Republican candidates would do any better in a general election than
The current race for the Republican nominee has gained much controversy as well as coverage among Americans. The road to the nomination of the Republican party is going to be, in my opinion, an unpredictable turn of events. Currently, there are three potential Republican nominee’s. Ted Cruz is a United States Senator, John Kasich is the Governor of Ohio, and Donald Trump that is a real estate mogul. Donald Trump remains having a substantial lead in the party’s nomination. By the current trends of polls, money, and endorsements of front-runner Donald Trump, he will win the Republican nomination for the White House on the first ballot and be able to avoid a contested convention in Cleveland in July.
In the 2016 Presidential Election many people, especially young adults, are not happy with the candidates chosen from either the Republican and Democratic side. For the Republicans Donald Trump was chosen, and from the Democratic side Secretary Hillary Clinton was chosen. From the third party former governor Gary Johnson, Jill Stein, and Darrell Castle were all chosen. As the election comes closer more people are starting to panic over who could become the next President of the united States. Senior Kaitlyn Hill explains why she thinks this election is not looking good.
While this was largely due to the similarity on their views regarding Russia and China, the two also bonded over topics as disparate as NAFTA and the line item veto to an assassination attempt on H.W. Bush. Despite Carter’s fall-out with his predecessor, Clinton effectively employed Carter. Their relationship had an unchallenging beginning due in large part to the similarity in their upbringings and political affiliations. Despite temporary fallouts, the two collaborate on major foreign policy conflicts in North Korea and Haiti. Both ventures were risky and unstable, yet ultimately successful - all due to Carter. During another risky time, the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Clinton was largely aided by Ford. Ford instructed him on the importance
Many people say that the democratic party only has two possible candidates. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. People say that they will make America great again but actually they will not. There are several reasons why their presidential plans for this country are going to fail. They both have horrible plans and do not have the right to be president here’s why.
*How did the Childhood, Education, and life experiences impact who Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump would become.
Politics is all about people being in charge, and having power. For example, this quote compares to politics because the country was competing for best architectural structures in order to gain fame and be the best. Although they were competing Burnham did not want to build a tower, the way Eiffel did. This demonstrates Burnham wanted to achieve greatness and success on his own instead of only adding to the ideas of others. This reminded me of the recent presidential election the U.S had and the way Trump and Hillary Clinton were attacking each other, instead of coming up with plans to better this country.
In the Democratic primaries Hillary Clinton can expect to receive little competition as it is much less oversaturated then the Republican race with her only opposition being Bernie Saunders. In the presidential race Hillary Clinton is clearly the best known candidate as American voters have already been familiarized with her from her time serving as First Lady to President Bill Clinton during his time in office, as well as her time serving as the United States Secretary of state. This is not her first time being a candidate in the primaries as she ran in the 2008 presidential
Currently, the Presidency of the United States is coming close to the final and whoever gets elected president is an accomplished liar. Both of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are using the political skills to argue because their major party candidates for president have to appear to be fully qualified to occupy the Oval Office. After watching of these videos of both Hillary and Trump’s speech, in my opinion, I analyze three types of informal fallacies from their speeches such as argument against the person, hasty generalization, and appeal to people; especially, appeal to vanity.
