Who is the Better Candidate : Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton? The Presidential election is one of the most heated topics in our media today. Although there are other candidates running for president, it seems Donald Trump, and Hillary Clinton are the two candidates talked about the most in the media. They are well known for their political arguments that are televised across the nation. Some say that neither of these candidates should win, and others would disagree. Does either candidate have what it takes to become the president of the United States of America? In my opinion, neither candidate should be elected as president. An explanation as to why neither candidate should be elected are the pro’s and con’s that both candidates have …show more content…
This difference being that Hillary Clinton is a woman who is running for president. Just as the media talks about Trump, Clinton is just as easily talked about. Earlier I shared a quote from the novel written by Trump, which basically stated that Donald Trump wanted to make money cuts regarding the planned missile system. Now I will share a quote from Hillary Clinton’s novel entitled “Hillary Rodham Clinton and the 2016 Election” written by Michelle Lockhart and Kathleen Mollick. While Donald trump believes that we should make budget cuts to the missile system Clinton seems to believe the exact opposite “The use of military power alone is not enough to keep national security strong” (Lockhart & Mollick 42). This shows me that Clinton is worried about the people of the United States of America. It also shows me that she is willing to do more for our nation. Another statement I will share from Hillary Clinton’s novel is a quote that is a little more personal. It is important for a public figure to be not only stand firm on making hard decisions, but also be open just enough for people to trust what you say, just as Clinton explains “One common “authenticity tactic” is to assert the normalcy and, preferably, humility, of the candidate’s roots” (Lockhart & Mollick 80). This quote shows me that Clinton is not afraid to share a personal side to herself and she …show more content…
Although Donald Trump does have valid points to the issues at hand, he is missing one thing, and that is humility. Without humility how do you expect people to relate to you. During certain times it is good to set things straight and stern, but you need to be able to be a little vulnerable towards the people to show them you can be trusted. Clinton on the other hand shows both good tactics and systems for topics that are necessary to discuss. Beside being organized she has shown me that she has humility and is not afraid to be a little vulnerable in front of the media or the people. This is something I find very important because it makes it easier for people to relate to. The one factor that makes me uncertain of Hillary Clinton, is her lack of explanations as to how she would fix the issues mentioned. Overall I would have to say that neither candidate has truly proven to be better than the other. However I chose Trump and Clinton for one specific reason, and that was to do an experiment on both to see what kind of candidate they were, and what their methods
In the 2016 election, the two candidates running for President are: Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Many people voting in this year's election are wanting someone different, someone who can get their points across. People are wanting someone who says, and will, make a difference in the world. America is filled with many disagreements and issues, especially on security as in NSA Surveillance; they also have issues on terrorists, and how they interrogate and torture them.
At the level of her particular leadership style, Hillary Clinton is a strong and determined woman, often posing as an aggressive opponent in battle. In her private life however, she is reported to be less stern and she commands the respect of people who have known her for decades.
Hillary Clinton is a democrat. She want to make it so that immigrants can continue staying here, according to this quote "I 'll end family detention, close private immigrant detention centers.” by closing the centers that accuse them of being here illegally. "As president, I 'll stand up for Planned Parenthood and women’s access to critical health services, including safe, legal abortion." according to this quote she is pro-abortion. The same source says, "I 'll take on the gun lobby and fight for commonsense reforms." this is stating that she doesn’t want to make guns illegal she just wants to make them harder to get so that they can’t fall into the wrong hands. Based on these issues
Pathos/ethos/logos A lot of pathos were used a lot by Donald trump in the debate. For example, trump was trying to persuade to the people that the stop and frisk law would work. He was coming off in the debate, like that would be the only thing that stops the crime in the inner cities. Hillary was also trying to convince to the crowd how trump was a racist (which is true) and how he disrespects women. Donald trump also began interrupting Hillary while she was talking in her debate, when he felt she was saying something that got to him.
To start with let us take a look at the positions of both candidates. Hilary Clinton is a democrat who announced her bid for presidency in an email to donors from her campaign chairman John Podesta on April 12, 2015 which was followed shortly thereafter with an official campaign video titled “Getting Started”. Clinton has served as the secretary of state of the United States of America and as a New York senator. Her stance on the national budget generally leads to an increase in spending and her stance on the second amendment is to increase the amount of control on the buying and selling of firearms. Clinton supports the equality of gay-marriage to “traditional marriage” saying, “I support marriage for lesbian and gay couples. I support it personally and as a matter of policy and law embedded in a broader effort to advance equality and opportunity for LGBT Americans and for all Americans. ”[1] Which differs from Trumps belief that marriage is between a man and
As stated above both Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump think they are the best candidate for the presidency. They both have very different views on taxes, immigration and abortion. The views they have and decisions they make will affect this country, whether it is good or bad depends on your position. In the end the voters will determine who is the best candidate and the right choice for this

This year’s presidential election has been riddled with controversy and drama. The two presidential nominees, Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump, each have questionable acts. As voting time approaches and the debates come to an end many individuals must decide who is fit to run the country. By considering their backgrounds, verifying the validity of their policies, and brining into consideration their performance in the debates, a suitable president should be found.
Ultimately, I believe Clinton should have gone to the whitehouse for various reasons. Clinton has been in office before and even the White House when Bill Clinton was president. Donald Trump has never been in office and is merely a businessman and has shown you can be elected president without political experience and if you just promise change, whether you follow through or not. This was shown in our class the mock election in a way as well. Although, many people believed the orange party candidate won the debate, the purple party candidate won by a landside, likely just because he offered change.
First, let us look more closely at the candidates. Donald Trump is a rich businessman who repeatedly makes bombastic or ridiculously callous statements, has a rich history of objectifying/demeaning women which include accusations of sexual assault, and is a reality television star. He has alleged mafia ties and has a long history of unsavory business dealings as well as lawsuits. Further, as presidential nominee, he provides no concrete plans for any the things he is going to “make great again”, and merely repeats endlessly how much of a “winner” he is while pointing at the opposition and calling them losers. He is running on the Republican ticket, but it is not even
The political arena is now turning into a political playground. Donald Trump and one of his opponents, Marco Rubio, have begun to viciously attack one another leading into Super Tuesday. Name calling and personal attacks were made by both candidates. Despite all of their immature behavior, the governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, had announced his endorsement of Trump for President of the United States. Governor Christie believes Donald is, “providing strong leadership that's not dependent on the status quote.” Chris Christie and Donald Trump, both share feelings of repugnance for Hillary Clinton. However, Christie's endorsement was not solely based upon the fact that they both feel the same for Hillary, ultimately it was due to the fact that he believes Trump can win back the White house for the Republican Party.
Since 1789, citizens have consistently participated in presidential elections to determine who can skillfully lead, effectively protect, and adequately represent the United States of America. As the upcoming election of 2016 gradually makes an appearance, the people have to question who can sufficiently accomplish these objectives. The candidates’ Ideas, views, and opinions flood every political form of media to give the voters a fair opportunity in selecting the best choice according to their personal views. Before making a permanent decision, one must inspect and investigate the different candidates, including Trump, Carson, Christie, and Bush, in heavy issues such as education, immigration, and tax reform to decide who is the best
Imagine that you are walking down the street, you think about your country, how sick it is. America is going bankrupt, you look at the homeless around you. There is way more homeless than there was before you elected trump. Hillary is the right choice, Trump will just make our country go bankrupt. I am in favor of Hillary because she believes in fighting racism with exposure, she believes women should make their own decisions and she supports gay marriage. I am against trump because He’s way too comfy with the white supremacist movement, a man as thin skinned and vengeful as Trump can’t be credible as President and he doesn’t know anyconcept about policy.
Clinton. Once both parties had there set candidate we knew that the race would be for the ages. Clinton has had a husband who was president she was a politician herself going up against Donald Trump and T.V. star a businessman 5 years ago if you said he would be a candidate for president you probably would have been called crazy. The first debate comes around and you have a well prepared Clinton and Trump just being Trump. Trump would never admit defeat that's the type of man he is but he got absolutely served during the first debate. Trump started in a hole after the first debate and as soon as he slowly started to climb out a video was released of Trump making offensive statements about women. This threw Trump in a major hole. Many people figured he would drop out of the race but he stated that he was in it till the end. The next debate comes around and before the debate Trump has a press conference with the media and four women. No one knew that this was happening but the four women were all victims of Bill Clinton and his scandals. All women claimed Bill did awful things too them and hillary threatened them on top of that. After the conference during the debate Trump was strictly playing offense and put hillary in her place. He showed the nation that no matter what happens to him he is going to stand by what he believes and Trump is going to be
Unless you have been living under a rock for the past two years, the United States of America has an election coming up on the eighth of November. This campaign has gotten ugly. There has been fighting, rioting, accusations of improper conduct, and a whole heap of other things between the two political parties. Some people would argue that our country is divided more now than ever in history. On the Democratic side, you have Senator Hillary Clinton. She has the motivation of becoming America’s first female president. Over on the Republican side, you have Donald Trump, a billionaire, real-estate mogul, businessman. These two candidates have two very different backgrounds. Hillary Clinton has been in the political arena since 1976. She was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2001 and was appointed as the U.S. Secretary of State in 2009. Donald Trump, on the other hand, has never held any kind of political office. He got into real-estate in 1971 and has since then made the Trump name synonymous with real-estate development. With their backgrounds being as different as they are, their personalities are just as different.
