So far, I have nearly completed my first sub question and am writing the references and bibliography of it. Moreover, I have finished my source evaluation template for my question, which has helped me to know how effective my research sources are and how they had helped me to know more about my question. As my first sub question requires a lot of depth I think I will require more time on answering it. For now, to be honest, my management plan is not as effective as I thought as I am still stuck in my first sub question, which I was supposed to do 1 week earlier according to my management plan. I think I am using my time wisely as I continue to do research on my topic whenever I get time. But to complete my work in time, I will have to utilize
I remember the day that critically shaped the person I am today,it started when I was in TH grade. I thought going to school was easy, but it wasn't as the adults think it was, because once I step into that middle school building, I felt the nervous, anxiety rush in my veins. I felt like I was in some kind of place that could eat me out alive, it's like that " first day of school" kind of feeling. My mother who was with me did not expect a thing, she thinks I was alright, but I wasn't. I walked into the main office asking for my schedule and then the lady in the front desk nods her head and ask me for my name. I told her my name and she printed out the schedule and gave it to me. I hugged my mother and walked to my first class. I reached to
Reflection on practice has different meanings, in my view it means constructive criticism: being honest with myself, becoming aware of and understanding my own strengths, and being able to review activities and constantly test assumptions related to our work. These have been my approach to critical reflection throughout the year. This is supported by Brookfield, he says that "Critically reflective teaching happens when we identify and scrutinise the assumptions that undergird how we work” (Brookfield, 1995, pg. 11-13). This is further supported by Ghaye, T & Ghaye, k (Ghaye, 1998); he argued that many teachers have benefited from learning through reflection. Their teaching and understanding of what is possible and less possible, impacts of activities on children’s learning and its boundaries have risen as a result of reflection.
The two units that I felt I could connect the most to were the mental health and the factors affecting wellbeing unit. I think I was able to connect the most to these units because some of the things that are talked about in the units applied to my life. In mental health and factors affecting wellbeing, we discussed the different factors that can affect our mental health. One example that we talked about was stress, and this is one reason why I was able to relate to the unit. I often have felt stressed therefore, I know the effects it has on our mental health. Another thing that we talked about was how our mental health is affected every day by little things, and, I agree with this statement because I too have experienced
Group work and facilitation are foundational to the profession of social work and require a considerable amount of skill and awareness on behalf of the facilitator. Committed to interdisciplinary collaboration, social workers have become emerging leaders in interprofessional healthcare teams (Jones & Phillips, 2016). “Interprofessional collaboration happens when practitioners, patients, clients, families, and communities develop and sustain interprofessional working relationships that facilitate optimal health outcomes” (CIHC, 2010). With this definition in mind, I was excited to share my previous experience within a clinical interprofessional team as well as collaborate with my group members to gauge their understanding and brainstorm ideas. Meeting multiple times over the semester, our group finalized the details of our fictional task group early on and an overview of this information is provided in the appendices. The first half of this paper will outline a critical commentary of the second team meeting, examining my role and behaviour as a co-facilitator, while the second half of the paper will discuss my experience within the development/implementation of our fictional task group.
The final role play assessment was used to test the knowledge and skills that were learnt and attained throughout the curriculum which was followed by personal critical reflection on the interview. According to Payne (1998), critical reflection is the core of social work, as it enhances one’s development and improves practice which ultimately lead to improved outcomes for clients (Askeland & Fook, 2009).
References- a minimum of 7 current and relevant references required and used within the critical reflection to support discussion. Three of these references need to be recent peer reviewed journal articles outlining research in this area.
Secondly, one of the ways to find any solution to avoid the loss of at least 200000 jobs in Australia is with a critical reflection. The Gibbs model has provided an easy tool to analyse in simple steps a philosophical and practical cycle, to develop a strategic solution to solve and maintain enterprises in health. In comparison with the Stephenson critical reflection framework, Gibbs brings a rapid solution, being a pragmatic approach building the knowledge through past and present events. The tools, as well as, description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and an action plan and again the Gibbs’cycle is repeated (Jasper, 2013)
I have basic understanding on creating therapeutic care plans for clients with different background through subjective and objective data collection, ruling in/out DDX, and making appropriate diagnosis in advanced nursing level. I still need guidance during this process. I'm confident that I will be able to achieve this goal with more time and experience.
Critical Reflection is an important component to getting the most out of, and successfully understanding the link between your CELT experience and the content presented in your course. The programs that you may participate in over the course of your CELT experience exist in response to social concerns and needs, as such, the ability to consider the underlying motivations to these programs is important in order to get the most out of your experience.
Select one of the readings mentioned in the syllabus for the Critical Analysis essay. What is one point the author works to prove in the essay you are analyzing? What does he say to prove his point? Does he use facts, evidence, statistics, graphs, deductive or inductive logic, emotion, satire? (See Chap. 3 of Current Issues or Critical Thinking.) Now make a critical statement: If the author uses facts, does he or she use facts in such a way that he or she convinces his or her audience the author is right? If statistics are used, are they relevant statistics; do they help show the validity of the author’s argument? If deductive logic is used, show that logic and then explain how it does or does not clarify the writer’s argument.
My previous course was critical thinking. The thought process from that class showed me how to deal with my day-to-day operation. I really had to be opened minded about several situations without just jumping to the conclusion. I am excited for the next course because of the conflict resolution in which I have to deal with daily. With the knowledge learned from the critical thinking class, I cannot wait to see how I apply it in the upcoming
Last class Mr. Blake, who works with the Ministry of Education and is living with a disability came and enlightened us on some core issues that impact persons with disability. The presentation was very informative as we discussed the context and the nature of disabilities that different persons experience. As well as the positive and negative attitudes of the interest groups about such persons. Subsequently, Global Policies pertaining to the United Nations Convention on the Rights with Persons with Disability Act and the subject of advocacy were critical highlights. Interestingly, Mr. Blake who is visually impaired/blind shared some key points to note when considering persons with a disability this included access to information, communication and accommodation. Additionally, essential to persons living with a disability is the enabling and supportive environment.
Critical thinking is a significant and essential topic in recent education. The strategy of critical thinking skills helps identify areas in one's courses as the suitable place to highlight, expand and use some problems in exams that test students' critical thinking skills.
college at any age, we must alter. In my judgment, the change could be a good thing if we are
I believe our group has struggled from the very beginning with being organized. I think some of the difficulties started with the team strategic plan. The team would have benefited more, from an outline of information that would be presented during the final speech (Adler, Ronald B., et al., 2013). I think our organization was lacking the first day we met to work on the team strategic plan. We all pushed off the meeting because we thought we had more time and as the due date approached we quickly met up to discuss what needed to be in the strategic plan. Then asked everyone to work on it on their own time. I don’t think this was the most beneficial way to divide tasks. We should have spent more time doing group work, and not assigned as much individual work (Adler, Ronald B., et al., 2013). I think we should have used part of the designated meeting times to do group work, that would have been the most beneficial for our group due to all members of the group having so much going on outside of the project, that the time would have allowed each of us to have a required/designated time to work on the project. Allowing for us to get more done, earlier on.
