Cultures change and cultural diversity is created, maintained and lost over time. Social learning and choosing, acquiring and assimilating and rejecting information and knowledge is a necessary aspect of the formation of cultural repertoire.
Human culture is the inevitable result of the way our species acquires its behaviour. Expertise in exploiting our environment, values about what matters in life are, among other things, what constitute culture.
We are very adept at transmitting cultural information to others, sometimes through frank teaching but also through the constant social interaction characteristic of human life.
Cultural diversity inevitably develops in the course of cultural transmission. This happens when members of the same culture and sub-culture share a large proportion of their information
The diversity in India is unique. Being a large country with large population. India presents endless varieties of physical features and cultural patterns. | Diversity means differences in ethnicity, heritage, customs, beliefs and values. It could be someone’s physical appearance, mental capabilities, etc. I have been taught that personal identity which is formed from a young age allows you to realise you are their own person. Diversity is positive and should be respected and valued because nobody is completely the same as anyone else. Telling them that being different from everyone else makes us unique, and that we must value the diversity and differences that surround us, in order to work together to make our society a positive place to live.
Firstly, cultural diversity refers to diversity within a given cultural system. Although the population that practices this system is not a uniform group, but a composite whole which is made up of mixtures of the subculture and subpopulations of different sizes? However, each of these subpopulations and subcultures experiences' and rituals' affects the socio-cultural reality in different ways, depending upon their needs and wants.
Culture regions tend to reveal a certain diversity but do not mean that everyone who lives there shares that feature. Therefore, it is great to comprehend that diversity typically exists within a culture region by use of specific instance. (Heatwole, 2006)

In this sense, personal cultural diversity can be seen through the influences of personal experiences that have been acquired and accumulated by the individual through his or her lifetime. Another factor to consider is the individual’s religious background or influences, as this would determine the values and practice of morality of the individual. This would also define one’s behavior and personality in comparison to other individuals. In addition, the religious influence of an individual, along with his or her personal experiences determines his or her judgments and prejudices regarding a certain issue. Another important factor is one’s social-economic class background, which refers to one’s income levels and lifestyle backgrounds. One’s level of income and lifestyle entitles one to develop different views and perceptions regarding different issues or topics.
Culture can be defined as “the sum total of the beliefs, rules, techniques, institutions, and artifacts that characterize human populations” or “the collective programming of the mind.
India is described as a country which is “a Unity is Diversity” because it is comprised of a wide variety of individuals who belong to different religions, speak different languages, practice different traditions, have different castes, worship different gods, wear different clothing, and eat different foods. Although India is comprised of all these different individuals and their diverse traits and practices, these individuals live together in peace and harmony in India.
