1.) How would you define “wellness”, and how important is it in your life?
Personally, I see wellness as not simply being free from illness or ailment. I define wellness as a mentally active process of becoming mindful and making conscious choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. This is a dynamic process of constant change and growth. Achieving and maintaining wellness is an important facet in my day-to-day life.

2.) How do you incorporate wellness into your life?
I aim to incorporate wellness into my daily life through valuing and prioritizing proper nutrition and exercise. Not only are these practices directly significant towards my physical health, but they play an important role in my mental health as well. They help with stress …show more content…

I define health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Living a healthy lifestyle is very important to me, and I strive to achieve this on a daily basis.

4.) How do you incorporate health into your life?
I strive to achieve a “healthy” lifestyle and incorporate health into my daily life through a variety of measures. As a Public Health major, my academic studies and future career objectives are ultimately geared towards seeking how to improve human health through the development and application of knowledge that helps to promote health and prevent disease, protect the public from exposure to potential harm, and prevent health care inequalities at a local, state, national, and global level. Outside of my studies, I aim to “practice what I preach” and regularly exercise and eat a healthy and nutritious diet.

5.) How physically active would you say you are in any given week?
I would describe myself as above average in how much physical activity I engage in within a typical week. Besides walking across and around UC San Diego’s large campus on a daily basis, I regularly commute to campus by bike. Furthermore, I engage in rigorous physical fitness through either going to the gym or going on outdoor runs at least 4-5 times per …show more content…

My favorite hobby is the sport of running. I have been actively practicing this sport since I was 10 years old and in 6th grade, and have exercised this through running for Cross Country, Track & Field, and most significant to me, annually training for and running the LA Marathon. My other hobbies and activities include general fitness, pursuing a healthy and nutritious diet, adventuring outdoors, hiking, climbing, visiting new places, listening to music, and most importantly, doing all of this with family and friends.

7.) Do you actively seek adventure or new things?
Yes, I actively seek adventure and strive to experience new things in my day-to-day life. Whether it’s simply trying a new food, listening to a new song, or planning a trip to visit a new place, I love to explore, adventure, and try new things. Currently up next on the “college bucket list” – go skydiving this summer!

8.) How open are you to walking long distances and/or carrying heavy loads?
I am very open towards walking long distances and/or carrying heavy loads. I see both as opportunities to add extra fitness into my day!
