Two organizations that I choose to compare are Southwest Airlines and Delta Airlines. I noticed that between the two airlines they both give the option for customers to book a flight, hotel, car, or vacation very clear. They place the options on of the page where anyone that is interested in flying with them wouldn’t have a hard time finding it. On the homepage you also notice that there are deals available which interest many customers. Many airlines charge extra for bags, but Southwest and Delta advertise on their website about free bag check-in. In my opinion southwest website has the best site. The colors are vibrant and draw a lot of customers’ attention. Also, I feel like the page is easier to operate compare to Delta. Everything that

While Frontier and Delta are both popular choices of airlines for Americans, Delta has become more of a household name because of their friendlier service, more comfortable cabins, and their limited extras fees. Frontier airline still is a worthy competitor by being cheaper, but they also have many added on fees for things that are free with Delta. Overall, Delta knows how to take better care of their customers and make sure everyone is satisfied.
Over 35 years ago, Rollin King and Herb Kelleher decided to create a different type of airline. They began with the simple notion: If you get your passengers to their destinations when they want to get there, on time and at the lowest possible fares, and make darn sure they have a good time doing it, people will fly your airline. They were right (Southwest Airlines, 2004)!

Southwest Airlines is known as one of the most caring and considerate companies. Since 1971, Southwest Airlines has prided itself in their exemplary customer satisfaction and family like approach to customers. American Airlines excels in many areas, but the ones that will be discussed are emotional intelligence, and cultural organization. More often than not, developing these areas are easier said than done.
Delta Air Lines began in the early 1920’s as a crop dusting operation, known as the Huff Daland crop dusting company, and was based out of Macon, Ga. This was the first agricultural flying company in existence at the time and grew into the world’s largest privately owned fleet of aircraft (18 planes) by the mid 1920’s. At the turn of the decade, co-founder C.E. Woolman lead a movement to purchase Huff Daland and re-branded the company as Delta Air Service, named after the Mississippi River Delta region the company would navigate.
When on vacation, the first people you deal with are the airline companies, yes this is the dreaded trip to the airport. Way to often people have their happy vacations ruined by inconsistent and unreliable customer service, making them late for flights because of long lines, slow service, and unreliable technology that is difficult to use. However, Southwest airlines is one company that is standing out above all others. Known for their outstanding customer service and “Bags Fly Free” campaign, Southwest has held their ground against rising prices in airline travel and continued to expand its reaches while at the same time attracting many satisfied customers. Southwest Airlines was founded on June 18, 1971 by Rollen King and Herb Kellener. The very same year, Southwest began its flights servicing Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Southwest quickly climbed the ranks within airline the industry and became the fifth largest US air carrier by 1998, carrying an average of 50 million passengers a year across the United States. From then on, Southwest soared above the rest of the mid-range air carriers, and continues to do so to this day. Southwest quickly became known for its innovation when it comes to customer service and satisfaction, and it is still well known today for its simple and convenient customer service. Southwest has also been deeply involved when it comes to their social responsibilities, taking action to be ecofriendly whenever, and wherever possible. (Avstop)

The Airline Industry is in an interesting situation. Simply adding a low cost alternative is not enough in the industry. The Internet has made the power of buyers grow with the transparency of ticket prices. This is not something that will change any time soon. Because of this profitability is predominately reserved for low-cost yet distinctive carriers. No consumer wants to ride what they consider a “lesser” airline. Airlines need a way to distinguish themselves from one another while also acknowledging the increased power of buyers.
Southwest is an outstanding company that applies servant leadership to their management style. However, as people change, it is important for management styles to change too. Southwest sets an industry standard for customer satisfaction. However, when it comes to keeping both customers and employees happy Netflix succeeds at exemplifying servant leadership throughout the company.
