Demonstrative Communication is the process of sending and receiving messages. These messages exchange thoughts or information in a verbal or nonverbal, written or visual manner. Verbal communication consists of oral and written messages, where nonverbal communication consist of facial expressions, body posture, eye contact, and or hand gestures. “Non verbal communication entails communicating by sending and receiving wordless messages. These messages usually reinforce verbal communication, can stand alone, and convey messages on its own” (Nayab, 2011). The reinforcement for non-verbal communication is obtained by body movements, hand

On the other hand if a person is enjoying the conversation he/she will move closer to the other person or will gently touch the other persons hand or shoulder. * “Pros of non-verbal communication come in the form of self-expression, such as a business woman wearing a power dress and showing confidence in every step she takes, thus allowing her to get respect without verbally asking for it. * Cons of non-verbal communication come in the form of lacking complexity. For example a person cannot communicate the story of a particular day to a friend without using words, unless he/she took the time to mime every detail. The message would still not be able to be conveyed accurately, for instance the person trying to explain cannot non-verbally that he/she had a chicken salad sandwich and orange juice for lunch. Nonverbal communication cannot communicate complex facts or concepts” (Sutton, 2011). In regards to the sender of a message, this person needs to ensure the message is taken exactly as intended. In other words if the sender wants to non-verbally express a job well done by his or her employee than the sender should offer a friendly pat on the shoulder, with a soft or confident tone. This will express a positive non-verbal communication. On the other hand if the senders tone is harsh and the hand gestures are inappropriate the employee will take offense and not feel like he/she did a good job. A receiver of a non-verbal message can
Touch - Touch is the most used non-verbal communication. An example is when we shake hands at a first meeting. The way we handle individuals can be a positive way of communicating. We communicate when we lift an individual’s leg or move them.
Non-verbal communication consists mainly of the things people do with their body language. There are times where words are expressed and non-verbal communication could help emphasize the message. A few examples of nonverbal communication are hand gestures eye contact, facial expressions as well as tone and volume. I was given this assignment to observe a situation and take note of the nonverbal communication that occurred. I also had to observe whether the non-verbals were able to execute the message and if the behavior was acceptable.
Typically, the demonstrative forms of communication help to reinforce the spoken or written communication. Often, the message that is
Nonverbal communication is the process of sending and receiving messages without using words, either spoken or written. And it is also called manual language. Similar to the way that italicizing emphasizes written language, nonverbal behavior may emphasize parts of a verbal message. The term nonverbal communication was introduced by psychiatrist Jurgen Ruesch and author Weldon Kees in the book Nonverbal Communication Notes on the Visual Perception of Human Relations.
Non-verbal communication is in effect a series of cues encoded by a person either consciously or unconsciously and then subsequently decoded by the receiver. It
Non-verbal communication between persons refers to conveying and receiving messages/ideas via wordless means. It involves both the conscious and unconscious mechanism of encoding (generating information) and decoding (interpretation of received sensation info from previous experiences). The mode of conversation is particularly vital when people engage in face to face interaction since it is employed not only to support the spoken message, but also to put an emphasis on its specific aspects of it. Typically, non-verbal communication is demonstrated via a multiplicity of behavioral signals constituting head and body movements/gestures, paralinguistics (such as voice tone), together with facial expressions (Galloway, 1960). Eisenberg and Smith (1971) were first to suggest that the above-mentioned cues could be quantified, an approach that in turn facilitated automatic inference on behavioral patterns in human interactions.
It is better to choose several common and representative nonverbal behaviors to expound how nonverbal communication affects interpersonal communication under the influence of various limiting factors, especially cultural differences. 3.1 Body Behavior Body behavior refers to the expression and movement which transfer communicative messages. For the study of body behavior ,we can trace back to Aristotle — the most great Greece philosopher .The first man to study body behavior formally is Darwin, he point out that there were many similar expression between animal and human beings in his book The Expression of the Emotion in Man and Animals, (1872). And the most successful scholar who systematizes body behavior is Rag L. Birdwhistell, he advanced the theory of kinesics in his work Introduction to Kinesics, (1952). Fast, Body Language, (1970), is another summary and representative work in this field. Since then, body behavior became a new bi-disciplinary science, and continuously there are new study achievements emerge. According to estimation, people can do up to 270,000 types of gestures and movement .The meanings of so many gestures and movement are complicated. Some of the meanings are definite, some are vague; some are used in communication, some are only self-expression; some express emotion, some reflect personality and attitude .For this reason, the classification of body behavior
One of the areas studied in psychology is the use of Non-Verbal Communication (NVC). According to the Collins dictionary, this is defined as ‘those aspects of communication, such as gestures and facial expressions, that do not involve communication, but which may include non-verbal aspects of speech itself (accent, tone of voice, speed of speaking, etc)’. Used daily by humans and animals (Darwin 1972), NVC has a strong link to innate factors, and messages are sent unconsciously to the listener. Through body language, we can deliver simple messages which can aid or replace speech, show attitude or emotion, and with 55% of what we say being delivered through body language, and 38% dedicated to tone, it can sometimes contradict our verbal
Non verbal communication is an art of communication that could and can be used to communicate important information to the minds of the learners in an effective and efficient way. Non Verbal Communications are usually done via gestures- As researches show, non-verbal communication has consistently demonstrated that the specific non-verbal language used by the educator/teacher will have a direct impact on both the psychological attachment of the student to the teacher and the ability of the teacher to connect with the student. It is also understood that in the context of education, non verbal communication
Non-verbal communication is communication that occurs without words which is continuous. (“Non-verbal Communication in Different Cultures | Businesstopia,” n.d.) It is body language and environmental context involved in any communication. (“Non-verbal Communication in Different Cultures | Businesstopia,” n.d.) It is not what is said with words but how it is said and expressed. There are many types of non-verbal communications like eye contact, hand movements, facial expressions, touch, gestures, etc.(“Non-verbal Communication in Different Cultures | Businesstopia,” n.d.)The functions of non-verbal communications are to accent the meaning of verbal messages (such as pointing while stating directions), to complement or contradict verbal messages (such as indicating sarcasm using verbal tone), to regulate interactions with others (such as using nonverbal cues to indicate when people should and should not speak), and to substitute for verbal messages (such as nodding instead of saying “yes”).(“7 Cultural
As I have already pointed out in the introductory section, demonstrative communication limits itself to unwritten and nonverbal communication. In brief, nonverbal communication in the opinion of Hamilton (2010) includes all unspoken, unsounded and unwritten
2.1.2 Non-verbal communication is the sending or receiving of wordless messages. With the body people communicate a wide variety of message through gestures, facial expressions, eye movements and touching behavior. Sometimes non-verbal communication response contradicts verbal communication and hence the affect the effectiveness of message. These non-verbal means
Communication is essential in everyday living. It can be found in all parts of the world with different kinds of people and animals. Without communication, the world would not be able to function and distress would be on everyone. However, since society needs communication to function, there are many ways that one can communicate. The two main categories for communication are verbal and nonverbal. Verbal communication can be shown by the tone, pace, or steadiness of a voice. Nonverbal communication can be described as hand gestures, posture, eye contact, and facial expressions. Even though, some cultures have different languages, communication is key for an effective society.
Communication is the act of expressing ideas, information, knowledge, thoughts, and feelings, as well as understanding what others express. The communication process involves both sending and receiving messages and can take many forms. Verbal communication is the spoken word, while nonverbal
Communication is an aspect of everyday life. People communicate both verbally and most importantly non-verbally. Verbal communication involves words whereas non-verbal communication consists of everything else but words. Moreover, there are different non-verbal concepts. These include haptics, refering to touch; proxemics, involving space and kinesics, which refers to gestures. Non-verbal communication is considered more meaningful and powerful because it communicates what the mouth does not. Non-verbal communication is expressed through body language and paralnguage. Paralanguage involves the voice and body language is embedded with non-verbal concepts. Overall non-verbal communication is an important universal language.
