Depression and anxiety are common disorders often confused with each other, but the two couldn’t be more different.There is a fine line between Anxiety and depression that is often blurred. Although there are many differences between the two, they also share many similarities, which can lead to false diagnoses among patients. It only gets more complicated when both illnesses are present. Anxiety is a mental health disorder described by feelings of worry, anxiety or fear that are strong enough to interfere with one's daily activities. While depression is a mental health disorder defined by persistent depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life. While these two definitions are very similar; but Depression is sadness, worthlessness, irritability, and loss of interest in day to day activities. Anxiety and depression are very similar in which they give off the symptoms such as excessive worrying, agitation, and restlessness just to name a few; However, Anxiety is the feeling of nervousness, or powerless, having a sense of impending danger or panic. Makes them different are the leading symptoms that people experience with these disorders make them different such as with depression, people have the feeling of sadness and frustrate however with anxiety people have the overwhelming feeling of nervousness and worthlessness. On the other hand, depression and anxiety have similar symptoms such as unexplained physical complaints such as headaches, and people often have trouble thinking or making decision wit excessive worrying.
