As ordinary individuals are navigating through life, they learn. They learn to walk, they learn to write, they learn to obtain manners, they learn to interact and they even learn to apply their talents to what they enjoy doing. No matter what, they are constantly learning something new every minute of every day - either consciously or subconsciously. So as they learn, they learn to think and feel towards their self and their peers they come across. And at one point in their lives, they come to meet that certain individual that changes their life in the brightest way yet - the one that makes them feel that intense emotion like no other. This one common emotion they think they learn, but misunderstand is love. What is love? Love is an enticing mystery to those inexperienced yet, but is a big tousle of indescribable emotions that are misunderstood but is bigger than the love and care for their own self.

Much has been said about love, but if you search the horizon, you will discover that most of the things written about love are either pithy or cynical.

There are several different definitions for the word love. Love is a simple four-letter word, with a multitude of caring and feeling behind it. There is a difference between loving somebody and being in love with somebody. The love between two best friends or between a husband and wife are the types of love that people want to last forever. However, there are no guarantees that it will last forever. Furthermore, the love between family members and the love between a parent and child is the kind of love that will last a life time.

Different types of love plays a huge impact on today’s society. There are unhealthy types of love typically found in teenagers, but that is also found in Mother to children love. Love is more than affection and sexual interaction with somebody else. It is a feeling that comes when two individuals find trust and companionship over a long period of the time. Each supports the other no matter the circumstances. Love is also felt between friends and family but in a different fashion. Regardless of what form it is in, love is hard to find and easier to lose.

People tend to hold onto objects because it reminds them of an important past or significant people whom they received it from. There are countless items people hold onto, one of mine is a picture of me and my siblings. Although the photo is flat and meaningless to some people, in my perspective, there is an immense depth and value to to the actual object. This picture, which illustrates what appears to be me and my siblings having a good time, demonstrates the love I have for them.

Additionally, there is also familial and neighborly love. However, as great as love is, the authenticity of it is what discombobulates many. Love may be the feeling that is life sustaining, but at the same time, it can also be life threatening. Humans are vulnerable to fall into an untruthful love due to the fact that we fantasize over the thought of being in love. Through William Shakespeare’s tragic play, “Romeo and Juliet,” a fabricated false love is manifested. Thus, the star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, loved impetuously rather than genuinely, as they did not comprehend the perception of true love.

From my standpoint, the concept of love is puzzling and we have struggled to understand it for many years. My own definition of love is an opening to our hearts and mind which causes an emotion that holds the most happiness. Over the years, researchers have developed theories and perspectives of love. Different forms of love take place everyday; not every kind being romantic. Love exists within a child and a parent. A parent may love a child unconditionally before it is even born. Parents are often teachers for love, they show empathy, respect, and affection. Showing all these expressions can help them develop respect, compassion, and support for other people.
