An important element that was presented in the Top Ten Economic Facts of Diversity in the workplace is that diversity down the line would provide a better result for a company in the long term and short term. Diversity might be seen as something a company can address whenever it likes, but through social trends it shows a company should change before they are even more behind the trend. The benefits are great for the personnel and the company. The company receives economic growth, more qualified workforce, added competitiveness and a greater share of the market. Job’s face many struggles and challenges each and every day. Workplace diversity is something which is being talked about the most here lately. Out breaks of minimum wage, sexualities, gender, and even your skin color affects what diversity a business would want. Within the business, the professional level is set pretty high due to the superior designers making us able to dress well fashioned. When people step into a business they do not want someone that is going to walk in with a t-shirt and gym shorts, they would rather them be in dress pants and a nice dress shirt with fashionable shoe wear. It does not have to be the top notch designer clothing, just something which doesn’t scream “I just woke up from bed.” The thing which is being most talked about these days is diversity. People who are African American, white, Hispanic, gay, lesbian, bisexual, male, or even female could feel unwanted at a higher end business. The more people are expanding their personalities and how much they want to be shown that anyone could do anything just as much as the next man is outrageous. Workplace diversity is becoming more intense as the years continue on and it is important to employers and employees for a number of reasons, a few of them being that it would gain mutual respect with everyone, conflict resolution would not be as much of an issue, and lastly the increased exposure due to all of the workplace diversity.
Many people assume that introverts are quiet individuals, and because of this characteristic it makes them less qualified to become leaders in the workplace. But contrary to popular belief, introverts are capable of being great leaders. In the workplace, introverts face the problem of being overlooked for leadership positions and those roles often go to “more qualified” extroverts. But if introverts were given a chance they would be able to prove that they can perform just as well, if not better than extroverts in leadership positions.
I think it’s pretty common for people to picture a Caucasian male with a suit and briefcase when picturing someone with some high end cooperate job. We used to be able to blame this on the fact that many different races weren’t getting the same level of education. In these days, with everyone getting equal opportunities in education and more diversity in higher educational institutes, there should be no reason that races aren’t represented more equally when it comes to white collar jobs. Many studies have shown that more diverse economies make for much stronger ones. When businesses can accept the nation’s ever changing demographics, they obtain a more diverse and inclusive workforce which benefits them economically.

Diversity has been one of the top issues in today’s organization or establishment. At the workplace diversity means creating an environment that all employees feel included. It doesn’t matter of their gender, age, race, work experience, or sexual orientation. The Workplace should acknowledge and recognize other races and other cultures and recognize the fact there are many ways of viewing the world. Workplace diversity is what others bring into the actual workplace if you notice it brings different opinions and interaction from different backgrounds into the workplace. It opens up others points of perceptions on how things are viewed.

For example, for continuous improvement, the organizations recruit diverse group as individuals some with innovative minds. I understand that employers open to diversity allow employees to be flexible and favorable to innovation. Again, a diverse environment brings different skills, talent and culture that can profit business. For instance, an employee that can connect with customers from various background and culture brings business opportunity. Furthermore, an organization that values diversity and utilizes it has an edge to compete and positions itself in the marketplace (Rice, n.d.).
Diversity is one of the most important aspects of an organization. According to Webster’s Dictionary, diversity is “the inclusion of different types of people (as people of different races or cultures) in a group or organization.” The effort must be put forth to create and maintain a diverse work environment. I would hope that my colleagues would express that I was able to provide them a positive and same work environment, which allowed them to wake up each day and not dread the thought of coming to work each day. I would like to hear that each day they came to work despite the challenges, they were happy to be a part of my team. I currently work for a financial institution located in Wilmington, Delaware. This organization has being around since 1988 with a history of innovation, from a small bank division to now a fortune 500 company, I must say that I absolutely love; working for this company. I am always in high spirit to go to work in the morning; because my employer cares about me. My supervisor has an open door policy; I can stop by his office anytime without a schedule meeting. Also, He values my opinion, believes in me, and always looking for ways to help me accomplish both my personal and team goals. My job is home away from home, I fit perfectly in this organization and adapt well to its changes, and I always had some of their culture instilled in me, because I think independently, especially when collaborating with others and never timid to share my creative ideas with senior managers.
