Do Cell Phones cause cancer?
The big question is whether or not cell phones cause cancer. So I looked at a few different studies almost all of them showed the same thing. One source was the IARC they said that the cell phones give off electromagnetic fields. The IARC also has cell phones ranked in 2B category. Also they said that cellphones can cause tumors in the brain. My research shows that cell phones can increase the chance of cancer. According to the IARC cell phones can give off an electromagnetic field. These electromagnetic fields can cause brain tumors. The IARC said that the two different brain tumors it can cause are glioma and acoustic neuroma. Which means that it must help to cause certain cancers. The IARC said that cell
In the debate article discuss the topics of cell phones giving off radiation and transferring it to the human brain. This is a big deal because a lot of Americans own or use phones. The article goes on to say that researchers have found that people have brain tumors and damage in DNA due to cell phones. This article deals with a lot of controversy because many people believed cell phones were the cause of brain tumors, it was such a big issue many inventors were sued in the 1990s. The debate can go on and on, however this is not keeping anyone from buying more phones.

The third source of radiation is using cellular telephones and radio-frequency (RF) have denoted as a large effect of this type of radiation. "Early studies have shown that there is a relationship between using cellular telephones and the growth of brain tumors. Moreover, unfortunately even under laboratory conditions direct exposures to high energy of RF is difficult to quantify"(5).
The news has recently been highlighting the negative effects of radiation from cell phones and the detrimental effects it has on our body. However, have you ever considered the radiation from cell phones affecting your hormones as well? In the article, “Cell Phones, Hormones and Breast Cancer: Connect the Dots”, written by Sherrill Sellman representing Total Health Magazine strays from the norm and discusses the effects. Sellman highlights many issues regarding the radiation and electromagnetic field repercussions on the human body physiological imbalances.
It influence individual on their body health. Just as Gigi Starr said in his article, Cell phones bring low-level radiation but it still can cause tumor to grow.(Starr). It’s a very serious conflict because nowaday lots of people get tumor because of radioactive stuffs such as TV, medical equipment, Cigarettes. It’s worse if someone have tumor and still addicted to use phone. It will increase the growing speed of the tumor. Although the radiation on the cell phone is small but if we keep staring at it 24/7. The radioactive will still get to you. Also cell phones change our way to communicate because we use the internet language. Gigi Starr claimed that, ”These days, it's a common sight to see people write "LOL" or "srsly" instead of expressing themselves through fully realized action and language.”(Starr). People started to not using the formal language and it’s not good because English is a big language. If it changes, people that learn it will get confused. English is a useful language and we shouldn’t make it become the “internet”
cancer. A study has been shown that cell phones affect men’s sperm quality. It could affect
A cohort study done in Denmark, concludes that there is no connection between long term cell phones use to chance of cancer (Journal of the National Cancer Institute 1). There is not enough evidence to create a connection between tumor growth and cell phones use. “However, experimental data supporting a promotional mechanism are scanty.”(Journal of the National Cancer Institute 1). So yes, there have been some forms of evidence to prove a connection of cellular phones to cancer, but there is not enough evidence to completely prove it. A connection of cellular phones to cancer is difficult to make considering there is a significant amount of variables to consider such as time and SAR of the
Many people think that cell phones cause cancer but that is definitely not the case after what i have researched in the past couple days. Lots of people think that they do cause cancer because of electromagnetic radiation waves penetrating the brain and causing tumors that end up being many different types of diseases including cancer. I think it could be easy to assume that cell phones have cancer because of the radiation waves that the cellular device is putting off. I also believe that many people like to make a big deal out of nothing.
However there had done others study that express the connection between cell phones and different types of biological damage to human body. For example The European Journal of Scientific Research conducted a lab experiment with normal human astrocytes, an LG Verizon cell phone and MRET-Nylon chip. The experiment revealed that normal human astrocytes cell that were exposed to cell phone radiation at a room temperature without the MRET-Nylon chip decreased by 20% less . Igor Smirnov is one of the author of this experiment and he stated on his article that "It is well documented that cell phones, which emit electromagnetic fields in the radio frequency range, can cause DNA damage, headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, fatigue, short term memory loss, neuralgias, tumors, sleep disturbances, aberrant brain wave activity and changes to cerebral blood flow, including altering the permeability of the blood brain barrier" (Smirnov, 2009). Smirnov statement and finding about the emission of electromagnetic wave from cell phones gives a lot to think. Even-tough it's a small amount of radiation that is being emitted from cell-phones, because they are held very close to the head at the end of a long term usage the risk of brain cancer and others health problems will
With cell phone usage increasing, many individuals have become concerned about the health effects of radiation from cell phones and cell phone towers. In recent years, various studies have been conducted to determine whether the radio frequency waves from cell phone towers have a detrimental effect on health. Current research has yielded inconsistent results regarding the effects of radio frequency waves, and while the World Health Organization does not view radio frequency waves as serious risk, more research needs to be done in order to be certain (USDA, 2009).
I am going to talk about the arguments about how cell phone radiation can affect our lives and whether these arguments are accurate or not. Cell phone radiation is a type of electromagnetic radiation that has the ability to cause health issues. The radiation from this device can cause serious brain tumours, according to one study by Anna Lahkola of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority in Finland, which found that people who use their cell phone for more than 2000 hours have a higher chance of getting a brain tumour. The
A. In 2007, a distributed audit of 18 investigations of mobile phones and cerebrum tumors, finished up that investigations of people utilizing mobile phone for over 10 years "give a steady example of an expanded danger for acoustic neuromas and gliomas," with the danger being most noteworthy for a tumor on the same side of the head that the telephone is utilized.
Furthermore, Mobile phones are harmful to user’s health so they can affect their learning ways. Researchers have been found that mobile phones produce waves that are harmful to heart, internal and reproductive organs. Also, radiation from mobile phones can damage brain cell. (http://hubpages.com/hub/Effects-of-cell-phone--mobile-phone-use-on-our-brain-and-memory). For example, mobile phones can be implicated in brain tumours as a result of electromagnetic fields or radiation. (Raju, 2009, p.5) In http://hubpages.com/hub/Effects-of-cell-phone--mobile-phone-use-on-our-brain-and-memory,
These work by the signals which are transmitted to and can be received from the base station (usually located close by) through RF wave. RF wave is a type of electromagnetic wave with a frequency range of 300GHZ widely used in radio communication and in applications such as heating. RF waves along with FM waves, microwaves, visible light and heat come under non-ionizing radiation. RF does not cause cancer. These waves are different from radiations i.e. x-rays, gamma rays and UV rays. These radiations can destroy the chemical bonds that make up DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid). At higher levels the RF waves can raise the temperature of the body. But the RF waves emitted by the cell phones are generally of lower energy level and hence it does not affect body temperature.
In 2011, after taking the opinions of 30 experts from 14 countries, the World Health Organization (WHO) categorized mobile phone radiation as a potential Group 2B carcinogen and officially advised consumers to limit their use (IARC, 2011; Baan et al., 2011). This suggests that mobile phone radiation may have a carcinogenic effect. Recently, Howlader et al. (2013) reported that mobile phone use raises the risk of brain cancer.
