Dog Park Economy

I believe that a dog park would be an excellent idea for Muscatine, Iowa. Not only would a park benefit the dogs but it would benefit the owners. A dog park would help in raising and caring for the dog. Dogs should be able to play and be free in a space that they will be safe. Not everyone has the space available at their homes. Some people live in apartments that don't have the yard space needed to let the dog run around. Expecially with bigger dogs. They need a lot of room. I can understand why people would be opposed to the idea though. There's always a chance of a dog harming another animal or human. Dogs can carry diseases, fleas, lice, and other harmful things that can be transfered to humans and animals. But if you let yourself

I think dog parks are a good idea. Dogs need alot of exercise and play time. Many cites and urban areas just dont have the room for that to happen. But there are optoins there many open unused lots, and empty building that could be torn down to create these places. I am a dog owner myself i live in the country were open space is abundant. My dog Neno can run a play all he wants it's good for his health and mental state. When he doesn't get out he gets cranky and chews thing around the house. According to one article '' That 37% of americans who own dogs often look for a dog park when choosing for a place to live''. With dog parks everyone would benefit. Without a place to take dogs they may never socialize much and can become aggresive.Though a good point can be made that dog parks can be loud at times. I still believe that dog parks are needed.

One one hand, the general benifits of a dogpark in an area like Muscatine is incomparable to those of any other public service facility. With a whopping 68% of citizens living in close proximity, such as appartments or rental units, there just isn't much space to let dogs run free. It would be easy for a dog to let that energy build up with no release. This play space would not only help ease the struggle of a yappy next door neighbor, but allow the dog's owner peace of mind as well. People who live in a apartment that does not have a back yard or somewhere a dog can run freely they could take them to the dog park. The dog and its owner is happy and always have a safe fun place to go. In addition the owner wouldn't have to worry about there dog getting hit by cars, running out in the middle of the street, and injuring people.

The town has a scarce amount of public space for recreation so I believe that when things are created they should equally serve all the towns people. The town already has a very low amount of public goods and for the goods that are available they're too pricey for everyone to attend. I feel that it would be a good idea to make a dog park, but they should also split it into two and make another park that's usable for the towns people and children. That way nobody will feel left out and they can make the best use of the small public space availability. Also the local schools would be very close to the dog park so the children could make use of the park if it was for both pets and

To many complications will come from a dog park. Such as situations like a dog attacking another dog or even attacking someone else. This can cause a lot of upset owners. Also many painful court cases. Dog parks will bring up a lot of legal issues that we don't need.

In this large populated area, the on going noise of barking dogs and yelling owners can become a bit annoying. This is essential for those that enjoy the peace and quiet of their community. Therefore, building a dog park in a more isolated area, would be more ideal.

Dogs should have their own parks,because when dogs aren't getting the physical and mental excercise that they need, their behavior tend to get worse. ASPCA has a study that shows the rate of dogs biting humans went down drastically in places where they're dog parks. ASPCA also believes that if dogs had a park then their would be less incidents of dogs attacking humans,barking, and destroying things. Many dog owners have given their dogs up , because they started to act like''bad dogs'', this is because they don't have a dog park to excercise all their energy everyday. Dogs need a park just like humans.

I believe that we as a state should we deside if that's a good idea or not. I think this way becuase there are many perspectives that you have to take in. You have to know how many people are in you town. You also have to know if you have enough space for a dog park.

I believe most if not all cities should have a public dog park. Since I was nine years old I have always owned a dog. I have lived the city all of my life as well. Living in the city there is many apartment buildings with little to no yard space. To keep a healthy and friendly dog the dog needs exercise and play dates. Because most pet owners in the city have no yard space for these activities. a public dog park is the perfect solution.

Limiting a dog's physical activity can lead to many other problems such as dog-bite reports increasing, crowded dog shelters, and bad behaved dogs. Adding a dog park will only befenfit the growth of city in many aspects. Property values will increase and lawsuits should decrease, because dogs are proven to be more well behaved when active and social with one another.

Studies show that roughly 2 million pet dogs end up in the shelter every year from lack of exercise or being lonely. That alone should be a hint that building a dog park could benefit us. You can even think of the park as a therapy treatment for your companion. It can also benefit a lot of citizens from Muscatine, because nearly 70% of their residents live in Rental units(mostly buildings), which means there is very limited space and areas to where you can bring your pet. The less freedom the more you risk giving your dog the chance to act out, destroy furniture, etc.. and you don't want that.

I do believe it would be best for everyones sake if the dog park was built. Clearly, the passage stated in benefit to the dog park being built, "Bad behaior caused by dogs being lonely or poorly exercised is partly responsible for the 2 million pet dogs that end up at U.S. animal shelters every year." The prevention of putting an animal in a shelter could possibly avoid lawsuits from the animal attacking a person.
