“Within minutes of the plea deal being announced, several news organizations reported that Kushner was the one directing Flynn’s communications, which Flynn then lied about to the FBI (Abramson).” Flynn was ordered by Kushner to meet with russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak for Trump’s interest in information to expose Hillary Clinton. Abramson then later starts writing about how Kushner’s recent behavior of being seen less by the public (Parker). Abramson questions why and what he’s doing in secret. She does this to arouse the public’s curiosity since she does have valid questions that others may formulate. In addition to this, the writer also brings up facts about Kushner to make him look bad. In the past, Jared Kushner had tried to set backchannels and communicate with russians even before they were admitted to office (Abramson). He then later denies this story completely. Abramson uses this information to give an extra kick to her story to show that the Trump administration is corrupt and lying to the United states.
President Donald Trump does not fully address any questions from the presidential debate that were asked. Trump used multiple propaganda techniques such as red herring and Ad Hominem. Marshal Cohen, a writer for CNN, uses quotes and support what they say. During the presidential debate against Hillary, Trump was asked about the DNC (Democratic National Committee) being hacked by the russians. His thoughts were;

Throughout the years we have had some great United States presidents and some terrible ones. When we elect a president, we want someone who will improve our country and stabilize our economy. However, many presidents do not accomplish this during their term and end up causing the opposite effect to happen. One president who is on the list of presidents that made the country worse and our economy decline is George W. Bush. He was the United States president from 2001 to 2009. George W. Bush was one of the worst United States presidents for many reasons, but the top three on my long list are first and foremost his decision to start the war on Iraq, second his support of the Military Commissions Act, and last but not least his handling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster.
According to Newsmax, “The Washington Post has assigned 20 reporters to look into every aspect of Donald Trump’s past as the presumptive GOP nominee seeks to become the next president of the United States, famed Post associate editor, Bob Woodward, said Wednesday.” Woodward is looking into Donald Trump’s real estate deals saying that “The New York real estate world is more complex than the CIA. Look, the job at The Washington Post has to be tell us everything about who the eventual nominee will be in both parties, 15-part, 16-part series, 20-part series, we want to look at every part of their lives and we're never going get the whole story of course but we can get the best attainable.” It was also said that the Post is working to get the essence of Hilary Clinton. Woodward does not believe that Clinton purposely tried to use her private email server to send out classified information. In another article by Newsmax, “Woodward called Hillary Clinton's connections to "pay for play" through the Clinton Foundation and the access she had given when she was secretary of state "corrupt" and something that voters should be troubled by. Yes, it’s corrupt; it’s a scandal,” Woodward told the "Fox News Sunday" panel monitored by Wednesday's presidential debate moderator Wallace, and referencing back Wednesday's
What makes all of America concerned about President Trump. The relationship between President Trump and many citizens is shaky. This makes Leonhardt question why President Trump helps with his campaign when those people had a limited role in his success. Leonhardt questioned, "Do you remember Paul Manafort, the chairman of Trump's Champaign, who ran the crucial delegate-counting operation?” Leonhardt did not ask this question on accident. Leonhardt purposefully asked the question to answer it. The question interacts with his audience, which in effect guides one reading his editorial in the direction he wants one to think about President Trump. Leonhardt wanted to emphasize how Trump is a hypocrite. There is no way that Trump won his election by himself without much help, establishing an irritated angry tone. Leonhardt also adds a rhetorical questions by Adam Schiff in which Schiff asks, "Is it possible that all of these events and reports are completely unrelated, and nothing more than an entirely unhappy coincidence?" The rhetorical question means is that can the suspicious ties and encounters between Trump and Putin seriously be a fluke? Maybe; but nonetheless, Leonhardt incorporates this rhetorical question into his editorial even though he did not say it because it is not a coincidence. If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, and smells like a duck, then that mysterious animal is a duck. The rhetorical question has an implied answer of maybe; however, the purpose of that rhetorical question is to further guide one reading his editorial in the direction Leonhardt wants his audience to think. Leonhardt does not trust President Trump and he wants everyone to understand why. President Trump is playing the hide and seek game, but it is not the same game children play. It is the game every lying president has
The spread of fake news can be detrimental and life altering without checking the validity of sources and facts before passing on such news to others. Pizzagate was a conspiracy theory that went viral during the 2016 Presidential Election campaign, which alleged there was a child-sex ring taking place and the top Democrats had something to do with it (Pizzagate: A Slice of Fake News). Some believe it all started when John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, had his email account hacked. Tons of emails were leaked and made public. His emails were said to contain coded messages that referred to human trafficking and were also connected to the Comet Ping Pong pizza parlor (“Pizzagate: A Slice of Fake News). James Alefantis is the owner of the Comet Ping Pong and also an acquaintance of Podesta. One email did contain Podesta and Alefantis discussing a fundraiser idea for Hillary Clinton, but no talk happened about the alleged child-sex ring. While this ‘news’ was spreading fast, Alefantis and his forty plus employees were receiving deaths threats, negative tweets on Twitter and Facebook, and facing harassing altercations with strangers. The staff observed social media outlets and “counted five #pizzagate Twitter posts a minute” at one point (Kang). Alefantis himself said that, “From this insane, fabricated conspiracy theory, we’ve come under constant assault.” (Kang) The only people that know what is true in the Pizzagate conspiracy theory are the ones who are
Despite this change in demeanor, Trump counters the allegations against him with scathing attacks. While referring to the Lewinsky scandal he says that “I think its disgraceful and I think that she [Clinton] should be ashamed of herself.” Trump contends that Clinton is a dishonest criminal. He suggests that he will appoint a special prosecutor to investigate missing emails and other mishandled documents. Trump addresses Bernie Sanders on multiple occasions suggesting that the Democratic primary was rigged and exclaiming that “I was so surprised to see him [Sanders] sign on with the devil [Clinton].” He succeeds in diverting from the issues regarding his own character and moves to control much of the debate. Rather than apologizing, Trump moves to control the
Flynn was one of the earliest supporters of Trump's campaign. Often known to have harsh political views and fondness of conspiracy theories, Flynn was no stranger to controversy. In a hacked email scandal, former Secretary of State Colin Powell called him "right-wing nutty"—but Trump that did not matter to Trump and he rewarded Flynn's loyalty by making him his national-security adviser (SCHMIDLE, NICHOLAS). The Washington Post publicized that Flynn, who was still a private citizen at the time, had talked about American sanctions against Russia with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian Ambassador while he was in Washington. This scandal was revealed when Flynn was only three weeks into his new job as Trump's national-security adviser. The conversations were between the two were thought to be illegal. The Obama Administration declared the removal of 35 Russian diplomats in retaliation for Russia's attempts to swing the election in Trump's favor; ironically, Flynn and Kislyak's communications, by phone calls and text messaging, happened on the same day (SCHMIDLE, NICHOLAS). Flynn had denied talking about sanctions
In the Nunes' four-page memo, it was revealed that the FBI and DOJ used Steel's dossier not only spy on Trump's campaign, but to lay the foundation for Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation.
Their exigence was to clear up any misunderstanding about the Russian hacking and provide enough information to their audience to make their own conclusion. However, they don’t persuade their audience in any way, almost like they were avoiding that. In both articles, they mention that the information provided is inconclusive. Biddle says “Possibly, appears, connects, indicates. It’s impossible (or at least dishonest) to present the evidence for Russian responsibility for hacking the Democrats without using language like this” which indicates that it is extremely difficult to believe that the hackings are true. Calabresi and Rebala provided a quote from the private security firms that say “their open source evidence is not conclusive, but say in the world of cyber-attribution, this is as close as it gets”, implying that even though the information is not conclusive, it is enough to believe the hackings were done by the Russians. Biddle’s article gives reasons for why there isn’t enough information which signifies the difference in the two approaches.
The president is the most important job in the United States. Not the ruler of the United States ,but have some power over the country. The president of the United States is a person who symbolize the country and leads the country by making decisions of what is the best thing to do. The president needs to know about the past history such as the conflict of World War I and II and different events that led to violence in our own country. The president of the United States needs to know how the system of the government works and different problems that have been happening right now such as immigration, terrorism and hunger. The president needs to have the people votes so that he or she could be able to have the position of being the president
The President of the United States is often referred to as the most powerful person in the world. This position offers presidents a unique opportunity to reach a large audience and to command its attention. Presidents frequently use this advantage as a “bully pulpit” to persuade citizens and to vote for favored legislation.
On September 11, 2001, America was attacked by terrorists. Before this traumatic event, one could not even imagine someone doing such a thing. When this event occurred everyone had been unaware and continuing their daily activities only to be stopped by this life changing news. The president at the time was George W. Bush. Doing day to day activities like the rest of us, he was reading to a second grade class that bright Tuesday morning. Upon hearing about the news, he was utterly shocked along with the rest of America. At approximately 8:40 p.m., which is around 12 hours after the event, he gave a speech to address this horrendous event. President Bush had successfully created a sense of unity and security throughout the country with his speech by using ethos, pathos, logos, tone and imagery.
The New York Times includes important sources thato help the reader feel more secure about the information given. The type of propaganda that the journalists Mark Landler and Jonathan Weisman often used thewas Testimonial device. The New York Times’ quotes in the article were by people who are well- known by the populace. A quote stated by someone who is well recognized generally helps the reader believe what is being said versus a quote by a person who is not well recognized. This is why Landler and Weisman decided to include President Obama and Secretary of¬ State John Kerry in for quotes in their article. By using these individuals, it also links the story and helps verify the information that was given to the targeted audience. End The Lie’s article had numerous quotes, but some were by recognizable people and others were anonymous. Having an anonymous source in an article is skeptical because anyone could have said it, and that person may not know much about the Russian proposal or the any other diplomatic path that is trying to be focusedsolutions. Also, on or the journalist could have easily added their own opinion by quoting themselves and hiding behind an anonymous source.
Donald Trump is not only one of the world's richest men, but one of its most recognizable. Despite a privileged upbringing, he did not inherit anything, and went on to fame and fortune thanks to his business accomplishments and natural instincts.
British publicist, Rob Goldstone, with ties to the Trump family, said that the Russian Government “offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to (Trump)” (qtd. in Barrett et al. 37). As investigations into whether or not Trump was involved grew, they were soon halted when the new President fired the leading investigator, James Comey (Williams 12; Osnos et al. 5).
