In this documentary, it shows the viewers how women are sexualized and looked at as nothing more than a piece of meat who will do anything for some money. It also gave insight on where this takes place, and it seemed clear that it mainly happens in the music industry and pornography industry. The Dream Center was started in Birmingham in 2008 by the Church of the Highlands. The mission is “to reach people with the love of Christ by meeting both physical and spiritual needs.” The ministry serves children, teenagers and adults. They bought two buildings in Woodlawn, and remodeled them. They partner with neighborhood organizations throughout the city of Birmingham. The volunteer staff of the Dream Center is working with ten schools in the city. They work with children as young as four years old, and also provide showers, snacks and prayer for needy adults in their Dream Center Café. They can serve more than 30,000 patients annually through the Christ Health Center also.

In Embattled Dreams, author Kevin Starr explains the decade that begins with World War II and ends with the growth of states that were part of the war, concentrating on the United States specifically California. The book speaks about the changes that the war brought into California and how it was a catalyst for major changes in the state’s economy and society. It focuses on the development of California. Many books show the major events that changed a country, but there were smaller stories within the country that demonstrated to the development as well. As you sleep your mind takes you to another place far away from the real world. You begin to dream. Over the night, you may have several dreams. In the morning, you may wake up and wonder what your dreams were suppose to mean for you and your life. By analyzing your dream, it "gives a true picture of the 'subjective state'-how we really feel about ourselves-which the conscious mind cannot or will not give" (Wietz 289). The DREAMers movement  was sparked by the proposition of the DREAM act in 2001. The DREAM act stands for The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors. Essentially the DREAM act would have provided a pathway to citizenship for college graduates/ those serving in the military. Additionally, it would have made this group of undocumented immigrants eligible for social security, healthcare benefits, and federal student aid. Francis Scott Fitzgerald’s short story, “Winter Dreams” parallels his own life, illustrating one mans failed American dream regarding love for an unconventional young woman in the 1920’s. Fitzgerald introduces a new type of woman known as the flapper that defies the conventional gender roles in early 1900’s America. Judy, the flapper and antagonist of “Winter Dreams” pushes Dexter Green to the edge of destruction. The story demonstrates the power one woman can have on the lives of one or more men. Fitzgerald uses his works of fiction, including “Winter Dreams” as a loose autobiography by outlining his failed American dream of wealth and love with the life of Dexter Green.

Americans have decided to trade in their dreams of a white picket fence, for the dream of white fenced in mansions. No longer are people going to settle for the success of middle America. People want to be at the top and they will do whatever they need to get there. This desire of luxury over moderation is shown in David Callahan’s book The Cheating Culture. In this example Callahan shows how Sullivan, a newcomer to the elite business world, lets his desire for luxury to override his integrity.

Dreams are a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep. Everyone dreams, whether they remember it or not.
