My strong points as a reader have also definitely improved after reading the poems and stories we experienced this semester. Writing has been an important form of expression for me. I find myself to be very soft spoken and speaking verbally is usually difficult for me because I can’t always seem to find the right words to say. During the course of this semester; the variety of writing styles and essays assigned to me in my communication skills class encouraged the development of my writing skills, as well as provided me with more self-assurance in my abilities. A driving objective for a teacher is to affect students to advance their expertise in education by finding them the correct course. The teacher should promote positive motivation and inspiration by adhering to legislation and codes of practice which will increase every student’s focus in developing and bridging gaps to display eagerness towards a healthy broad mindset, creative thinking and brighter approach. A mentor should coordinate assessments which will reinforce the ability to perceive individuals’ abilities and knowledge progressions and moreover support them further to boost their learning capacity to acquire a well-established national standards skill set.

After reviewing the syllabus, I am excited to gain knowledge in how to produce well-crafted resumes, reports, emails, and letters for future applications in real life scenarios. Analyzing variety of professional rhetorical situations and being able to produce a highly developed response also is a skill I’m am looking forward to acquire. Refining my abilities at every stage that are involved when constructing any competent form of professional writing. Specifically, I hope to improve in drafting and revising as I feel those are my weakest areas when it comes to writing.

One skill I greatly improved upon was my ability to gather and organize information. On my first paper, Arguing a Position (AaP), I did very poorly on this. The paper was arguing that the mass surveillance by the United States government had gone too far and was suppressing individuals’ freedoms. I spent a long time researching for this essay. When I went to sort through it all I had found that I had gathered way too much information and I had not organized it in any useful way. This put me behind the rest of the class in the writing process. I was still typing down to the very last day, while everyone else was editing, which hurt the quality of my essay. I did, however, learn from these mistakes. In my second essay, Proposing a Solution (PaS), I proposed a solution to the algae problem in Western Lake Erie. I feel I did much better at researching for this paper. I collected less information and only kept the information that I knew would be useful in writing the essay. This saved time which allowed me to put more effort into the quality of the writing. For this reason my PaS essay was much better than my AaP. This improvement shows that I have improved enough to earn credit for this course.

Developing strong academic study skills in Higher Education is arguably the most important area of learning and development a student can cultivate, in order to achieve academic success. The skills that are acquired, the learning techniques that a student refines and life learning experiences are all going to develop into long-term career prospects and future career enhancement. Some of the key areas for development and discussion in this essay will include note taking/essay writing, critical thinking and analysing questions and reflective thinking skills.

I feel that some strengths that I have had throughout this semester is the integration of quotes and using sources very well. I have also done a good job of researching in general for all of the essays. I also have been able to write really well reader responses because I was able to fully understand the passages and write to my best ability. I also had no difficulty with submitting all of the reader responses. I also think that in the Final Essay #2 I showed what I am fully capable of in the second page of integrating quotes as well as my own opinions.

Rationale: this activity will help students practice spelling, vocabulary, grammar and text formation which differ quite a lot from speaking.

The reason that most people High School don’t have good study skills is because they were not taught proper study habits in Elementary School, where this should be taught.
