In the Administrative management, there have 14 principles of management as general guidelines for organizations to perform the management process that are introduced by Henri Fayol (Fayol, Henri & J.A. Edens considered to remove everything that possible influence or distract his workers on the job at hand. Such as the windows are covered, Edens says, “I don’t want them looking out – it’s distracting. They’ll make mistakes.” Thus, according to this principle, Edens’s worker must obey the rules or norms that set by Edens to manage his company. In addition, the social order refers to the arrangement of people. It means that selection and appointment the most suitable people responsible to the suitable job. There should have a specific place for everyone and they should have a specific place to perform their job conveniently. Based on this case, Edens arranged his workers sitting at their own spartan desk in the workroom where they work at to perform their works individually. Edens’s workers also clearly know that what they want to do and where they can get the materials they want to get, such as the data-entry clerks punch the information and those information are collected by others like the figure computed by the audit department. This can help the functions of Edens’s company running smoothly without

Using Tannenbaum and Schmidt’s (1958) Continuum for leadership and involvement, my management style is Consult (Participative). This style allows me to adapt if/when required. It gives me the capacity to make the final decision with the added benefit of tapping into the ideas of subordinates. I think you can become blinkered and stagnate if you have held a position for sometime without listening to the ideas and view points of others.
In order for the work environment to be functional one must put user policies and guidelines into practice. From an employer’s viewpoint user policies and guidelines set the rules and tone for the work environment because they guarantee efficient use of company resources. Also, policies and guidelines avoid employees’ participation in activities that may be unethical or illegal. From an employee’s viewpoint policies and guidelines make the work environment rigid and boring. It also leaves no time for re-energizing oneself during the workday. Finally, they say when guidelines are put in place, especially on computers; there is no time to “catch up” with other lifetime activities. Overall, the chapter puts great importance in “what

The personnel employed in an organization according to Vickerstaff (1979) serve as the hub around which other resources revolve. This allows the entire wheel of the organization to turn smoothly in order to perform more effectively, efficiently and economically. This is the reason why the personnel employed in any organization who eventually becomes the bread-winners of his family and an instrument of progress for the society, have to be well structured. The human elements (personnel) have needs, emotions, interest and attachment, his productivity or performance becomes bolstered if he is reasonably taken care of and if his working environment is made conducive. The organization itself and the society at large becomes the ultimate beneficiary in the view of Storey and Sission (1990).
There many classical management approaches that have shaped what management is today. In specific, Henri Fayol had major contributions to the world of management through his five published rules of management. These rules of management to the four functions of management, planning, organizing, command, and coordination. He stated that the five guidelines of management were foresight, organization, command, coordination, control. Foresight is when you complete a plan for the future. The first rule, Foresight involves the construction of a plan for the organization’s future. This rule relates to the planning function of management as firms today also create strategic plans or furthering the given organization's success. The second rule, Organization is the duty that provides the company resources to actually implement the plan, this rule coincides with the organizing function of their group. Command is the third managerial rule that Fayol introduced and what he meant by this is, command is needed to lead and inspire workers to complete a certain goal. This managerial rule relates to the leading function of management because the leading function of managing makes sure that a task is completed. Coordination is the fourth managerial rule introduced by Fayol, and it means to fit diverse employees and efforts together in order to solve a problem. This relates to the leading function of management as well because it the function is concerned with getting problems solved and leading

According tot the Administrative Management Theory, management is the process of getting certain tasks completed through the use of people. In this theory developed by Henri Fayol, he believes that it was very important to have the use of a multiplied of people instead of just relying on one person alone. Henri Fayol is known today as the “Father of Modern Management”, his theory has shaped what is know today as the Administrative Model, which relies on Fayols fourteen principles of management. These principles have been a significant influence on modern management; they have helped early 20th century manager learn how to organize and interact with their employees in a productive way. Fayols principles of management were the ground work in which his theory was formed. He believed highly in the division of work throughout a project and within the project he believed that the task at hand had to be done with a certain level of discipline in order for the division of work to be able to run smoothly without error.
Failure to meet these expectations or deviations from the laid down norms of behavior on the part of the employees leads to the problem of indiscipline. In such situations, the management must initiate action to ensure that an employee’s behavior is in conformity with their expectations.
