“Friends are like stars, you don’t always see them, but you know they’re always there.” This quote resembles the friendship I have with Emily and Abby. Although there are shared qualities in Emily and Abby, there are also distinctions which allow each other to be unique. I”m going to compare Emily and Abby in different ways.
Emily Fay Genereux is an outstanding friend. One of Emily’s interests are playing softball. She plays on a traveling softball team called Legit. I hear her talking about softball too many times to count, but it’s okay because I can tell how much she loves it. Another one of her hobbies is to draw. Emily is amazing at drawing and oil pastel, and man does she love oil pastel and charcoal. Next I’m going to describe her physical appearance. Emily has blue eyes, medium length brown hair, and a round face. Whenever I talk about how tall I want to be some day, she mostly comes in with a comment about how it is like to be 5’3”. Finally, I’m going to talk about her personality. Emily’s personality is that she is bold, she doesn’t care what other people

Some of Abby’s hobbies include sleeping, watching television, and putting together puzzles. A couple of her favorite television shows are Supernatural and Golden Girls. She also loves playing the Wii. One of the games that we both love and play together is Michael Jackson: The Experience. Next I’m going to be describing her physical features. Abby has brown eyes, dirty blond hair, and an oval sized face. Being 5’7”, she is tall for all of the girls in our class. Abby has no freckles or dimples. Lastly, I’m going to tell you about her personality. Abby is an outgoing person. She is willing to do or try anything anybody tells her to do. Abby is an artistic person. She loves to draw and paint. Another personality trait that describes Abby, is that she is dependable. Whenever I need anything, Abby is there most of the time. That’s if she’s not playing the
She had a very outgoing personality, she had a very funny sense of humor, and wasn’t afraid to say what was on her mind. Ezrith was very happy she had a joyful personality, she was very beautiful and had an amazing smile, she was very smart too. Her hair was beautiful long and blonde, and her eyes were brown she was a beautiful person with a beautiful personality. Ezrith first wanted to go to Brown University, I convinced her to
The author portrays a friendly tone in this publication, by showing how the two girls interact with each other throughout the whole book. “’My name’s Annie’, she said. ‘Annie Paul. I live over yonder’, she said, ‘by where you see the laundry. That’s my blouse hanging on the line.’ She smiled then. She had a pretty smile. And then I smiled. And we stood there looking at each other, smiling.” This quote helps to show the tone of friendliness by showing how good the two girls get along even throughout their differences.
“A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself” (Jim Morrison). Friends are not made easily because no one is the same as each other. Yet we can be alike each other. Not only do the jocks fit together as friends, but the outcast kids do also. For example, in the book Staying fat for Sarah Byrnes by Chris Crutcher, Sarah Byrnes and Eric are alike. “‘My best friend. I [Eric] stayed fat a whole year for her" (Crutcher 7). Both teenagers are outcasts of their school because Sarah is seen as ugly and Eric is overweight. Since they are both outcast students, they learn off each other and protect each other. They do this by staying together through that hard times. Sarah and Eric both go through rough patches, yet Sarah faces danger
Friendship opens our minds to different views and perspectives and change our perceptions. It has the power to change people’s views on life in a positive way. True friends will do anything to keep their friendship alive, no matter the barriers. Potok proves through the friendship of Danny and Reuven that friendship can be achieved no matter the barriers. He proves that friendship is a key value to life through his motif
In the short stories Story of an Hour and A Rose for Emily, the two main characters Louise Mallard and Emily Grierson are both similar and dissimilar. These two characters lived in similar ideological societies and they shared a similar pattern of development. But also they differed in their goals and how they thought they could achieve their goals.
For instance, Shannan won’t just say whatever she wanted without thinking about; as some extroverts are. She more nice/outgoing while talking to people, and isn't afraid to talk to people. This comes in handy when coming when coming to a new school, after moving from Washington to California. Speaking of Washington, did you know that all her favorite sport teams are from there. For example, her favorite football team is the Seattle Seahawks, basketball team is the Seattle Storms, and for baseball are the Mariners. Now, what cooler than a girl who watches sports? A girl who also plays sports as well. When Shannan was seven she played on a baseball team called the “The Little Dogers.” This athletic superstar also participated in soccer, but never really played on a team. Nowadays, Shannan has a hanged up her cleats to spend some time to relax. Which is one of the things she likes to do in free time, along with sleeping, watching Netflix, and drawing, This is one thing that many people say she has a gifted for. Besides, literature, singing, and being “good at electronic stuff.” To this modest multi talented girl simply said “I personally don’t think I have any talent
She has a habit of licking her lips, and she finds repeating herself more than once very irritating. She likes to relax on the couch with four simple things, the t.v, food, her dog, and no one else around. During her spare it is spent with her dog on a walk while listening to music. The kind of music Bella listens to is everyone's favorite, Twenty One Pilots. Just like me Bella does not read that often and does not have a favorite book, but she does like to “study”. When she says study she means, no homework because she does not study. Other than Bella being a creative, bright, and caring person, she also has a good self image. Bella likes her height because she is not to tall and not to short, but do not forget your not done
Music with some stress occasionally and she likes to talk to people that are trustworthy to her. She deals with conflict by simply walking away. It complements the power she know she has over herself. Her close friends would describe her as thoughtful, caring, and dramatic. She listens to stories from strangers just to hear them out and assure they’re heard and cared for. She's soft in soft moments from movie scenes to actual real-life touching situations asserting her emotion in all ways. She’s also dramatic. When she’s dramatic it’s “over the top dramatic,” especially when the problems are simple. She’d choose to have mind reading ability out of any superpower. She would like to further understand the human mind. She also believes in spirits and demons and she’s interested in ghost topics. But she doesn’t believe in aliens or any other extra terrestrial organisms. She’s not that big of a science geek. Science is her least favorite class subject. Also we touched on world topics. If she could be anyone else in time she’d go back in time and be Dr. Martin Luther King. She’d be Dr. King to be one of the first black to step ahead to vocalize what was going on in a sad America. She wouldn’t change a bit of his role, she’d be him, serving the country no different that the real MLK did. To her, success is “accomplishing any desirable goals.” So she can see in her eyes that everyone is successful no matter what
A quote from Author Truman Capote “Friendship is a pretty full-time occupation if you really are friendly with somebody. You can't have too many friends because then you're just not really friends.” Buddy, from A Christmas Memory, has one friend, his distant cousin, and is loyal and kind to her all the time. Like the quote, Buddy does not have many other friends and is very friendly with the one friend he has. Jimmy and Bob’s friendship starts to deteriorate, because they don’t spend enough time each other.
In conclusion, despite that, both ladies are from different stories and are different from each other. Both Anna and Emily still, are very alike because they are oppressed by men, depressed and had affairs with men. Emily was oppressed by her father and Anna was oppressed by her husband. Next, both women are depressed because they couldn’t be with their lovers. Lastly, these women are very much alike because both had affairs. Anna had an affair with Dmitri and Emily was seeing
Jill McCorkle once said “The silver friend knows your present and the gold friend knows all of your past dirt and glories. Once in a blue moon there is someone who knows it all, someone who knows and accepts you unconditionally, and someone who is there for life”. McCorkle’s description of a “gold friend” reminds me of a novel I recently read called “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet” where friendship is universal and described as a bridge that connect all social gaps including gender, race and differences in abilities. Throughout the book, author Jamie Ford has succeeded to show readers that friendship is the most precious gift of life and it is also the most valuable thing to pursuit by giving details about how characters in his book such as Henry, Keiko and Sheldon help each other in the hardest time of their lives.
Her hair was a dark auburn with streaks of blond and her eyes were the deepest ocean blue. I traced her freckles with my eyes, like a constellation of stars. My heart skipped a beat when she sat next to me. I was questioning why I was breathless from a girl, a girl... Why a girl? I was happy she decided to sit by me, but then I realized it was the only empty seat in the class. She was mysterious and I could smell her coconut perfume from a few feet away. Her fingernails had been chewed off and I wondered why. Was it a nervous habit? Was she upset about something? Maybe she just didn't like long nails. I couldn't think well enough to draw, unless I could've drawn her. Would my pencil do her beauty justice? We didn't talk and she didn't even offer me a
Both Darnay and Jonathan make up for the mistakes their family made by showing wisdom as they acted opposite of their relatives. Charles Darnay treated Lucie with dignity and respect. When Darnay was confessing his love of Lucie to Mr. Manette, he mentions how he loves her “fondly, dearly, disinterestedly, devotedly” (Dickens 147). Jonathan depend on God and trusted Him when his dad was hiding. During one battle, Jonathan told his men “come, let us go over to the Philistine garrison on the other side.” While Jonathan was taking on the Philistine army, Saul was One day Jonathan the son of Saul told the young man who carried his armor, “Saul was staying in the outskirts of Gibeah in the pomegranate cave at Migron” (ESV, 1 Sam. 14). Darnay’s family
There are a lot of important things in life. However, one of the most important things for people to survive in this world is friendship. Without friendship, people can die of loneliness. What do you think about your friends? Do you like your friends? There are a lot of different types of friends. There are friends that I like and some friends with whom I do not get along. Friends with positive characteristics such as reliable, trustworthy and faithful whom I usually get along with are the one that tend to have more friends and the negative one whom I usually not get along with tend to be alone. However, friends with negative characteristic can also give us some good examples of seeing double sides of something, like, a character can be
Throughout literature and film, common themes have appeared and stand out once seen by a viewer and reader. Because of these themes being so prominent, they have shaped culture and society into what it is today. One of the most important and well-known theme is friendship. A bond as strong as friendship is shown to be able to conquer anything. Literature shows the ups and downs of friendships time and time again, and in most cases, towards the end, those relationships have changed characters’ lives causing people to relate to it. However with any relationship, the downs in friendships can always reach rock bottom at some points. Authors use friendships to create archetypes about different sets of characters. Because of this companion archetype, people are able to find different ways to fulfill those empty spaces in their very own lives.
