Starting up a business may infuse so much energy and enthusiasm to any entrepreneur. The day-to-day work may not be much of a trouble and should not be perceived negatively, because after all, starting up a business does mean a lot of work and would definitely need most of your time. Despite hiring the best employees, an entrepreneur could not just be too complacent with whatever solutions are being made by his appointed decision makers. Having a business may help you to become financially independent but it also means taking a huge responsibility.

Signs of Physical and Emotional Collapse
It is best to be able to distinguish stress from burnout. The difference may just depend on the degree. But one should be able to identify the symptoms before it turns into a full-blown burnout.
1. Insomnia
Insomnia is a kind of sleep disturbance which makes an individual difficult to sleep or to stay asleep a few days in a week. Too tired or thinking too much can cause this to happen.
2. Chest pains, palpitations, dizziness, headaches, and gastrointestinal pain.

The individual being unmotivated may tend to slow down in doing the usual work that he does that can lead to works piling up or can become forgetful of some details. He may no longer be as efficient as he used to.

My score on the burnout assessment is a 32, indicating there are a few signs of burnout. This module was a real eye opener for me, as it provided a good explanation of burnout versus stress. I would always say that “I am stressed out” and now I know I was experiencing burnout. Burnout is a state of physical, emotional and mental exhaustion over a long period of time; while stress is feeling out of control for a short period of time.
My results from the burnout self-test revealed, “little sign of burnout here, unless some factors are particularly severe” (“Burnout Test”, n.d.). From taking the quiz, I learned that I am not as overwhelmed as I sometimes feel. I take more control over outcomes than I feel that I do during stressful times. Sometimes when you are in the mist of stressful times, you can not really gauge or determine how well you are dealing with situations, but this test helped me but things into a better perspective. Is there a lot of stress before going to bed? Does the individual suffer from any medical conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or any others? There are several questions to ask when it exploring the origins of insomnia. Emotional problems such as stress, anxiety, and depression can have a direct relationship with this sleeping disorder and can cause a majority of the cases of insomnia today.

Through consultant psychiatrist Sanjay Chugh, the article defined burnout as "a state where slowly and steadily, one can notice a decline in one's physical and mental efficiency" (par. 2). What makes stress and burnout in the workplace critical for employees and employers alike is that these contribute to poor employee performance which inevitably affects the "overall productivity" of the company or organization.

Not only give to yourself the ability to make your own decisions, but it also offers financial independence, creative freedom and the chance to fully use your skills and knowledge. In addition, I strongly believe that the person who open his own business has to have self-confidence and determination to achieve what he really wants and certainly has to be prepared for the many sacrifices and years to achieve it.
