Last semester, the classes I think I've grown the most in are English and cultural geography because I payed a lot more attention close to the end of the first semester. The Habits of Heart and Mind that I have improved on, or begun to use more are responsibility and think. How I have gotten better at these habits are by paying attention in class. What continues to be a struggle for me is math and biology because I do not seem to understand to topics very quickly. What I am most proud of myself for accomplishing is passing my geography exam because it's the only exam I passed for finals. Something I wish I could go back and do differently is study a lot more for my English, math and biology exams because if I would have studied more I would …show more content…
The Habit of Heart and Mind I want to work to get better at next semester is confidence, effort, and apply. One of the classes I think I've grown in is English because if I do well in this class it will help me for my career in the future. Another class I think I've grown in is cultural geography because I passed this class with almost an A and this class I do not struggle a lot in. The Habit of Heart and Mind I think I've improved most on is responsibility because I take my studies a lot more serious now. The Habit of Heart and Mind I am using more now is to think because I think more in math. I have gotten better at the habit of writing by writing this four hundred word blog. Math and biology continues to be a struggle for me because I do not understand the concepts the teacher is teaching real quick. I am most proud that I received a B in my geography final because I studied really hard for it. If I could go back and do something differently I would give me everything to study more for my math and biology exams because I got a really low grade on them and if I were to have studied a lot more on them I would have passed
I have learned how to ask better questions and to talk to my teachers when I need help or do not understand the concept well. I make sure that I have a relationship with my teachers and introduce myself at the beginning of each semester. Learning how to communicate with my teachers
The last three weeks I have learned about three habits, and they are; habit 1 being proactive, habit 2 begin with the end in mind, and lastly, habit 3 first thing's first, I have an so learned how to use them anywhere.lastly, how they can/will improve my life for good and help me through a difficult path.
Over the course of the centuries maps have been used to find locations all over the world. They have evolved and to become more advanced, thanks to technology. Of course, there are specific ways to use a map such as basic components. Basic components include a compass rose which indicates the cardinal directions. Legends is the key where symbols are used to help find a point on the map, or in other words, lead the way. A scale can range from as far as a continent to as close as a house. All these components are important while using a map.
Starting in the fall of 2012 was a big change in my thinking and learning skills. This was the year that I started my Liberal Arts Education here at Bridgewater College. Before I entered college everything had come easy to me whether it was sports or school, but during my first two weeks at school I knew that had all changed. In high school I rarely had to take notes and homework was optional in my school district and so I carried that over to my new classes at Bridgewater. That did not go so well because on the first test in General Chemistry I got the lowest grade I had ever gotten on a test. This was where college changed for me. From then until now was a change in the way that I learned both inside and outside of class. In the classroom I started to take better notes and really paid attention to the lecture. Outside of class I started to read and take notes on the textbook and also used the resources of the college and got a tutor.
learned much more, and looking back, this first semester has made me more interested in
I did poorly last semester but this semester I have plans to do better. I am going to have a daily action plan and plans for how to deal with different problems that might come up. Last semester I did not properly handle the things that came up which is why it turned out like it did.
As I reach the end of my fall semester here at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, I have analyzed the habits of mind that has guided me through my everyday life at school. The habit of mind that I have developed over the course of my fall semester was openness. I was able consider new ways of being and thinking about the world around me. I made many friends this semester, doing so I was able to become more open toward people and situations I can across during my fall semester. I will be evaluating how I became more open to people, how I was able to create close relationships with my new friends, and began to enjoy being an Islander.
There are many things that I could take away from this semester that would be useful in life. The experiential learning of actually seeing the activities being put into play helped me really see how the activity can and will help others. Also trying something new helped me see that horses can help heal more than just emotional states, it can help someone mentally understand what is happening in their life. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and my connection with them have grown, by seeing them used in different ways to help heal
It is believed that our ancestors came from africa into eurasia. One thing that made human geography flourished was plant and animal domestication. When people became building water building bases, the most prominent cultures sustained local expansion. A thousand years ago China has the largest population and still does. The greatest changes over the past millennium were not with eurasia and africa but with america and australia because the europeans decimated the people already there. People in eurasia and africa and aboriginal australians, they had not changed their natural environment. One of the thing that changes the environment is climate change. The point is that boundaries are created to limit human movement.
The Three things that I have learned about myself this semester are that I am determined to do whatever I can to finish my degree. I am willing to go above and beyond in order to complete my class work, homework and my classes. I have become more motivated and passionate about my career choices during this semester; I think it is because things are finally starting to fall in perspective for me.
I 've grown in English 9 because of the readings we do. The habit of heart in mind I use most in that class is effort. Even though my grades aren 't as high, well I have a B, I still put a lot of effort in my work. I didn 't use confidence because I didn 't really think I did good on some work. Like on my essays, I feel like I do alright but I end up doing better than I expected. I am most proud that I turned in my work. I only have 2 classworks/homeworks that I did bad. I have a 89% in that class, one point from a A! The most important skill I learned in this class is how answering questions can really help you understand the book. I also learned how to set up essays and what they are wanted. If I could go back and do something differently is I guess put a little bit more effort in that class because I am one point away from a A. Next year, I want my work to have a lot of effort and long answers with a lot of details. The most important thing I 've learned so far is how reading can improve your writing. English the beggining, was a great because I read many books. I am also proud on the partner work. That was independent with no teachers. It just depended on us. So of course, we where responsible and did all of our work. My team also created a drawing that wasn 't all that but I am still proud about it!!
Geography influences culture in many ways. A civilizations geography determines what kind of god(s) they believe in as well as influences from other cultures. These features provide a stepping stone for cultures that are solely based on geography.
First off, who I am as a learner has changed over the past years. At times before, I wouldn’t take certain classes or assignments seriously and have learned my lessons when I failed. I believe having classmates at the time who weren’t as focused as I wanted to be, played a big role in my lack of understanding in classes. I understood later that if I felt learning was so important to me, I need to realize that it is my future and I needed to focus on my own. Having learner in my top 5 strengths defines me very well. Rath (2007) explains that, “The process, more than the content or the result, is especially exciting for you” (p.133). I believe this defines me as a learner because I enjoy having books in hand, opening up my notebook to write notes and learning new ways to understand the class. Regardless if the content is something I have to get in to or if I don’t do well on tests, I enjoy the process of studying and learning more even when I know I didn’t do so well; that is what motivates me. I believe as long as I keep this mindset and understand that this is my strength, I will continue to grow and further my education as much as possible. Even though I have failed a few of my last classes, I never let that stop me from continuing. Knowing that I have “failed” makes me realize I know I can do better and I try my hardest not to let it get me down. I will not get further if I don’t keep trying and as a learner I am a motivator to myself in my studies.
During my first semester as a business student, I have developed many skills and discovered new abilities within me. However, the most effective things that I knew me are three skills. First of all, I have learned that I have the capability to deal with stressful circumstances such as having projects, homework, assignment, and tests in the same day, and I have learned how to devote my time equally in order to be successful in my academics. Basically, I have developed my time management skills, which is going to help me in my future semester at ASU. Second of all, I discovered that I am doing extremely well here at ASU due to that fact that I found all of the courses that
What concepts, principles, or ideas that you have learned, do you think you will remember the most after you leave this class?
