Hodgkin lymphoma (Hodgkin disease) would be known as a type of disease called lymphoma, which is a cancer that starts inside white blood cells and are called lymphocytes. Hodgkin disease has treatments that can cure it but there are only a few medications that can do it. This disease has symptoms that can come in a lot of side affects. Hodgkin disease (lymphoma) is known as the type of disease or cancer that starts in white blood cells called lymphosites and known to be part of the immune system. Hodgkin disease or lymphoma is known for attacking your lymph nodes. It can cause many symptoms. The Hodgkin disease attacked my dad when he was 30 years old, which was when I was 2 years old. This disease can take take lives away but you can also survive this.
Symptoms that can be in Hodgkin disease (lymphoma) like there is small red spots under the skin which is called petechlae, frequent infections, easy bruising or bleeding, headaches, trouble breathing, joint and bone pain, not hungry or short appetite, sweating while sleeping, weight loss, chills, fever. Anemia is a low red blood cell count. Red blood cells carry oxygen around the body. Their condition could help out in the weakness or the shortness of the breath. Leukopenia is a low white blood cell count. It is a decrease in a production of functional leukocytes (white blood

There are treatments that can help this Hodgkin disease (lymphoma). There is chemotherapy regimen which is a doxorubicin by injection and there is vinblastine by injection. There are other treatments like bleomycin by injection, and there is dacarbazine by injection, and also there is brentnxima vedotin by injection. There are procedures like radiation therapy which is therapy using ionizing radiation generally as part of cancer treatment to control or kill maligment cells. Radiation therapy may be artistic in a number of types of cancer if they are located to one area in the entire
Lymphoma is the name given to a cancer that infects the lymphatic system. In a case of lymphoma the lymphatic system has cells that multiply and cannot be stopped. There are two main types of lymphoma, Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s. Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is called
According to the American Cancer Society website, Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (also known as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin’s disease, NHL, or sometimes just lymphoma) is a cancer that starts in the cells of the lymph system, which is part of the body’s immune system.1 It is a type of cancer of the blood that affects the white blood cells, which are usually involved in protecting against infections. NHL is not a single disease, but rather a group of at least 31 closely related cancers that affect the lymphatic system.2 Although the different types of NHL have some things in common, particularly their lymphatic origin, they differ in their appearance under the microscope, their molecular features, their
Lupus is a potentially life threatening disease that effects about 1.5 million Americans. Lupus can effect many different parts of the body. Lupus is a type of autoimmune system disorder in which the body cannot distinguish the difference between foreign antibodies and its own organs. So basically what happens is that the body ends up attacking its own organs thinking they are foreign substances. (The Lupus Foundation of America)
Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease of unknown cause that can affect virtually any part of the body. The medical term for Lupus is Systemic Lupus Erythematosus or better known as SLE. With Lupus there is a malfunction in some of the cells of the immune system. "In Lupus, the body overreacts to an unknown stimulus and makes to many antibodies, or proteins directed against body tissue. Thus, Lupus is called an autoimmune disease. ”#
Systemic lupus erythematosus, or simply lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease or immune system malfunction. A person's immune system normally protects the person from viruses, bacteria and other foreign materials. When a person has an autoimmune diseases like lupus, the immune system turns against itself and attacks itself.
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, is the disease that affects children the most and because of the abnormal cells that are immature white blood cells which cannot help the body fight infections cause children with the disease to often get infections and have fevers (National Cancer Institute, 2002, p. 1). The symptoms that the patient with ALL may have depend on the number of abnormal cells of the patient where exactly the cells collect. Children patients with ALL have low amounts of healthy red blood cells and platelets, which cause less oxygen to be carried through the body because of the lack of red blood cells. Patients at times may look pale, feel weak, and tired causing bleeding and bruising very easily because of their lack of enough platelets. This condition is called anemia. Anemia is very much common in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Fever, fatigue, bone or joint pain, tiny red spots under the skin called petechiae are a couple of symptoms that the disease ALL has. Headaches with, or without vomiting also may occur if patient happens to have abnormal cells collecting in the brain or spinal cord (National Cancer Institute, 2002 para. 2).
It’s a rare autoimmune disease caused lymphoproliferative disorder , due to abnormal overgrowth of cells of the lymph system similar in many ways to lymphomas (cancers of lymph nodes) but this disease is not cancer . It is also called giant lymph node hyperplasia or angiofollicular lymph node hyperplasia (AFH).
Lymphoma is a general term for many similar subtypes of cancers that come from a white blood cell called a “lymphocyte.” Lymphoma has two major categories: Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Mantle cell lymphoma is merely 1 of 70 different types of NHL. US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health 2008. Lymphatic cancer, also known as Lymphoma, is a cancer of the body’s lymph nodes. Records show MCL occurs in about 20,000 to 200,000 cases annually in the United States; 20,000 to 200,000 may seem like a large amount, and is a lot of individuals, but in comparison to the 318.9 million people in the United States, this condition is rare. Mantle Cell Lymphoma 2014. Although Lymphatic cancer is considered rare, there is a type called Mantle Cell Lymphoma, which only occurs in approximately 7% of people with NHL have mantle cell lymphoma. Lymphoma - Non-Hodgkin 2012.
Because Hodgkin’s disease is associated with a defect in the maturation of the lymphocyte, the immune system may be impaired. As such repeated infections may occur.
Prognosis is influenced by factors such as how advanced the disease is at diagnosis, and how rapidly it is advancing. Effective treatments are traditional chemotherapy agents such as chlorambucil, cyclophosphamide and melphalan. These can be given as a single agent or combination with others such as rituximab. This monoclonal antibody has been found to be effective. Because WM is a rare disease, there are minimal research trials to support this disease. But none the less, there are clinical trials available. Ongoing research has introduced new therapies including inhibitors and alkylating agents. These ongoing clinical trials have shown that when compared to conventional chemotherapy agents, can not only treat the symptoms of the disease, but also continue to further medicine's knowledge as to patient's prognosis while providing patients increased therapeutic efficacy, longer remissions and most important, a better quality of life. Stem cell transplant is also an option. This process involves removal of blood forming stem cells which are restored to the patient following chemotherapy treatment while the transplanted cells return to the bone marrow and produce new blood cells. Another option for patients with a swollen spleen is the removal of the spleen. This would also help stabilize and stop the progression of the
Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system and as it progresses it can spread to other parts of the body and it affects the immune system and its ability to fight infections (Mayo clinic). This type of cancer affects thousands of people per year, and it its signs and symptoms are different from other cancers. These signs and symptoms, in addition with other tests can help diagnosed the disease. Once the disease is diagnosed, the patient can be received the proper treatment, but the proper treatment does not guarantee complete recovery. Sometimes the same treatment can later on put the person at risk for other malignancies or leave the person with long lasting effects.
Hodgkin’s disease is a type of cancer that effects parts of the immune system, also called the lymphatic system. This specific disease is very rare but is treatable. In Hodgkin’s disease cells in the immune system are abnormally forming, which affects its function. This spreads and migrates to other parts of the body. If the structure of a cell is changed, then the function of the cell also changes. Infection can become very difficult to fight and is very compromising.
CLL is diagnosed with a physical exam, including a complete history, and blood & bone marrow tests. Many types of blood and bone marrow tests can be performed including:
Chemotherapy, Radiation therapy, stem cell transplant, and targeted drug therapy are all forms of treatment for ALL. Chemotherapy is typically used as induction therapy for kids and adults. Chemotherapy can also be used in consolidation and maintenance therapies. Chemotherapy is given in a variety of ways. It can be given orally as a pill or liquid. It can be given intravenously by infusion into a vein. A cream on the skin can be given. Chemotherapy can also be given by direct placement either via lumbar puncture or a device placed just under the scalp. Radiation therapy uses high-powered beams, such as x-rays, to kill the cancer cells. Radiation therapy is usually recommended when the cancer has spread to the central nervous
Leukemia is a type of cancer. Cancer is a group of more than 100 diseases that have two or more important things in common. One is that certain cells in the body become abnormal. Another is that the body keeps producing large numbers of these abnormal cells. Leukemia is cancer of the blood ce3lls. When leukemia develops the body produces large numbers of abnormal blood cells. In most types of leukemia, the abnormal blood cells and they do not
