Acharya 3 Manisha Acharya Professor Sherry, Govt-2306 Preparing to run I live in Irving, TX. It is a district with a lot of international and Hispanic people. Irving is also very crowded. My district number is Texas State senate district 16 represented by Senator Don Huffines and for the house district, it is the Texas State House District 105 represented by Rodney Anderson. When I had a look at the map of my district, I also found out that it was jerrymandered. I choose to run for the Texas State House District 105 representative, which consists of Irving, Grand Prairie, and some part of Dallas. The total population of my district 105 is 175728. Most of the people residing in my district is Hispanic with 44.9% followed by white with …show more content…
Homosexual people are also human with emotions and feelings inside them and no one should have the right to hurt their feelings. Foreign policy is something that shouldn’t interfered much. We can advise them and give suggestions, but we shouldn’t be telling them what to do and what not to do. Abortion has become one of the biggest issues today. Stopping abortion is not always right but spreading awareness about unwanted pregnancy is what needs to be done. 2 Next generation left overall supports an activist government but also are wary of expanding the social safety net (Suh, Political Typology Quiz). My platform is the local platform. I believe in maintaining the issues of the local people of my district first and then think about the state issues. If we could maintain our district’s issues then it will automatically decrease the state issues. The three of my stands to develop are jobs, taxes and protection of people. I think my issue stands are very much similar with the democratic party stands. Our idea about the low taxes and providing the job opportunities to people reside together. I believe that providing job opportunities will help in betterment of the district. If people are given better job opportunities then the net income of the district will increase automatically, providing better life style for the people. My district still consists of 6.5% of unemployed people and 29.2% of those who are not allowed to work. If we could provide
My promise When you elect me as the district 23 state senator you will be enabling us as a district to make an important progress because I will ensure that the national government hears your voice. By doing so you are guaranteed that you will also remain in the loop.
There are some of the points where my ideas are align with the Democratic and Republican part systems whereas some of not. Democratic and Republican party systems have done so well from their side to develop the school systems in Texas. They have established preschools, kindergarten, high schools, bilingual education for their citizens with well-equipped system and technology and I agree with that. Most of the Texans are getting good education due to these parties systems.
After doing some research, I found out that District 117 in the House of Representatives has been heavily Democratic for years now. It has been served by Philip Cortez for two years now and is located in South San Antonio in Bexar County. The population is heavily Hispanic plus Black, and the median income is considerably low,
The name of my chosen state-level legislator is Royce West, and he is the Texas State Senator for District 23. He is African-American and his religious affiliation is Baptist. He belongs to the Democratic Party; therefore, he shares my preferred party preference. Senator Royce West has been in office since January of 1993, so he has been in office for a total of 24 years.
Moreover, my platform for the campaign was to improve the quality of education and provide affordable costs to students. Besides this, I focused on the roads of Texas and their status. The roads are not good enough and are undergoing construction. I am standing on those issues and on reducing the tolls. My platform also considered the advancement in public health. I focused on improving the health services of the people. My agenda is particularly on providing easily accessible medicines and services to the public so that they can be benefitted. ‘Health is wealth’ is my propaganda. Since, my platform is focused on such issues and my agenda have positive impact on the education, health, and transportation, my placement on these committees is justified. It serves my district’s needs. We have less health services and people cannot afford those facilities. Expenses are higher for people. Improving the
1 My Texas State Senate District is 16 and Don Huffines is the republican senator for Texas senate district 16. 2 My Texas State House District is 115 and Matt Rinaldi is the Texas house representatives for district 115.
2 Given the results of political party quiz, my political values are closer to Independent. I fall in the middle of Democrats and Republican. Also, with the political typology quiz, my best fit is Next Generation Left, having liberal attitudes. Running for the office, I would like to stand on issue stands such as education, roads, transportation, taxes, homosexuality and health. I would like to decrease the poverty rate. There is a lot of tax in Texas. We undergo sales tax, state tax and federal tax which decreases our annual income and the tax return is also less. The highways are not good enough. For example, TX 183 is undergoing construction and the road is messed up. They are just expanding express lanes for their purposes. The general public cannot afford tolls.
Sadiksha Shrestha Professor Sherry Sharifian GOVT-2306-71001 26 Sept. 2017 I am running for Texas State Senate from District 16 for the upcoming election. For 2014 Texas State Senate election the candidates were Don Huffines and Mike Dooling. There were no representatives from my party for the election of 2014, hence this year I have decided to represent my political party to serve the people of Texas. Mike Dooling was an amazing candidate, who is a libertarian representative, but he did not appear for the general election. Don Huffines won the general election without any opposition. The map of our district was gerrymandered to benefit some special groups. For this election, I would like to stand up against Senator Huffines to

Undoubtedly, I have one of the most prestigious positions of public trust in the U.S. represent Texans in Hardin, Jasper, Newton, Polk, and Tyler counties. This people hold firm to their faith in God. They believe in hard work and fair play. They willingly give their daughters and sons in the defense of liberty. They are Southeast Texans and I am proud to to represent them in the Texas House of Representatives.
The individual who represents me in the Texas House of Representatives is Representative Jonathan Stickland. Representative Stickland is a Conservative Republican who represents Texas House District 92. He has been a Texas House Member since 2013. Stickland is a supporter of “limited government, transparency, limiting regulation and … [representing] the voters”, instead of the lobbyists (Texas House Member). He also advocates for “Jobs and the Economy”, specifically “lower taxes”, “cut spending”, and letting the “free market principle work”, while also being an advocate for “Family Values”, especially to “defend freedom and liberty for all”(Jonathan Stickland: State Representative). Stickland is a member of the “County Affairs” Committee and

It is nice to hear from you. I can't run right now due to the hatch act since I am still in the US Army Reserves. Here is my stance on a couple of issues: The shape our country is in now it really pisses me off, (sorry about my language), Its a slap in the face of every soldier that deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan when we let ISIS or the Taliban overtake cities that our men have fallen in defense of. Another thing that is a big issue with me term limits I believe that they need to be limited to 4-year term limits and you should only be able to have two terms at each level. I also believe that you should not get a congressional retirement after only 5 years they should move the number up to at least 8 -12 years. Another thing is that congress shouldn't get paid unless
For my Internal Assessment, I am going to investigate the characteristics of elite runners. As a high school track and field and cross country athlete, I am amazed by the abilities of elite runners, who seem to glide through the air effortlessly. By researching the characteristics of their running, I believe that I can become a better runner by implementing some of their mechanics. In theory, running may seem like a simple motion. However, maintaining proper form while physically exerting every muscle in your lower body is no simple task. Every four years, the best athletes from around the globe come together to compete in the Summer Olympic Games. Earlier this year, athletes from just under 200 countries competed in track and
The biggest problem today in politics is differentiating between the various political parties’ views and choices. The question “What do you stand for?” is a critical question when different political parties are campaigning. Platforming is seen as a road map; it’s the guiding point to making any future decisions. A political party or individual candidate directs and forms its beliefs, choices, ideas and ambitions into what is called a platform. Political parties are given the extensive opportunity to appeal to a nation-wide audience. Each team has prospective leaders who operate, manage and form the working nucleus for the party platform. The leader narrows down to one specific individual who is expected to reflect the pre-existing platform in the hope of attracting society at large.
