The Purpose of Government
A lot of people wonder what is the purpose of government, why is it there anyway? This is a good question because even though many people think they know what the purpose of government is, other people disagree and this sometimes can cause government to not be affective. This is because people in Washington are always fighting over things that don’t matter very much but don’t pay enough attention to solving problems. I think the purpose of government is to do what the people tell them to do, that is why they elected them.
I think government is the worker that works for the people who tell them what they want them to do by the way they vote at the election poll. I don’t like it when people in the congress don’t do what the constitution said. The constitution gives people rights and let’s people be free to do what ever they want with their own lives. (constitution, 1776). Everyone wants themself to be free and to enjoy that freedom like the constitution and the people who wrote it wanted.
I think it is important for those people who the people trust with leading the government do a good

I think this is why the people who rote the constitution put in it that there are three different parts to the government, this is called the separation of power. This is so the president can make congress make laws that do what the people want them to do. The constitution also makes the courts have the power to decide when things are done like the constitution wants and when they are not constitutional. I think this is a huge idea because this is the reason that the constitution doesn’t let the president or the senators or the people in congress or the lobbyists have too much power. This is why there are checks and balances to make sure no body has to much strength in

When looking up the definition of a government it says, “the governing body of a nation, state, or community”(dictionary.com). This helps to understand it a bit more, but what is the purpose of a government. Government has many purposes that keep its people safe and protected, this includes to establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. There are so many ways that the government is use and there are so many sub categories and even those have categories. So when one is faced with a question like this there any number of responses, and but the main purpose of a
In the making of the United States, there were many events that are important. This paper intends to highlight a few of those events including; Magna Carta, Mayflower Compact, Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation and the Federalist Papers. Many events in America’s history helped to establish the United States as a free and independent country. The Declaration of Independence in particular explains the rights and freedoms that Americans. Each document is like a stepping stones that leads to the next and building upon the pervious document.
I am here by writing this essay to explain, how these organizations in the United States such as the MADD, LULAC, and NAACP can educate and help our fellow citizens of America change laws that might well need to be changed. As well as explaining the common interest these groups are concerned with.
Each type of government holds different views as to the role the leaders and citizens should perform in their country .Different types of government include, oligarchy where the government is run by the best leaders, Tyranny, where they believe those in power should have complete control over its people. In the United States of America, we believe in democracy, rule by the majority. The main problem with our type of government is maintaining it. Our government and its citizens have lost sight of their roles and responsibilities, in government.
The responsibilities of government are to protect its citizens by such means as our armed services or military weapons. Government is to ensure there is a way of fairly maintaining order as an example our police, National Guard, and to ensure every citizen has equal access to items, products, goods such as schools, and highways. However, government or politics often has a negative connotation too many as it is viewed as a way for lobbyists and those with money to make policies that are important or in some way helpful to them. Many view politics as dishonest and that politics is a manner in which someone or group benefits for their own advantage and not for society as a
Why is government necessary? In the words of Alexander Hamilton, “Why has government been instituted at all? Because the passions of men will not conform to the dictates of reason and justice, without constraint” (Federalist No. 15 137). Men have a sin nature and must have an authority set in place to keep them from falling into anarchy. America has federal and state governments with a system of checks and balances for exactly this reason, but one sector of the government has overstepped the bounds that were set for it in this country’s infancy. In order to answer the question of whether more power should be put into the hands of the federal or state government, three things must be considered: the history of state’s rights in America, the differing types of government, and the constitution itself.
Some may say that this is what separation of powers was put in place to do. However, this is showing something worse. Separation of powers was supposed to divide the power evenly among the three branches to create a balanced government. The Judicial branch lacks the numbers and the force that the other branches hold. Again, one point of view may say that the Judicial branch still has powers just like the other branches.
I believe that the government keeping secrets from and lying to the citizens is hurting our society like in the brave new world. Our government has been doing our society a discomfort by setting secret meeting and denying public access even though the citizens are the ones who are being directly affected.
right and what I think is wrong, but the well being of the public has to be
As a citizen of the United States of America it is easy to get caught up with your day to day life and not realize everything going on around you. If you sit back and think about all the ways government affects you, you will be amazed. Let’s discuss our different levels of government, our federalist style of government, the pros and cons associated with our federalist style, the way government affects you daily, the private sector, as well as what things our government is involved in I feel is unnecessary.
People have their own perspective of a government that they envision for their people. Thomas Jefferson has been the president of the United States and ruled under a monarch. Jefferson couldn’t tolerate the abuse from a monarch, so he rebelled against the British crown. In 1776, Thomas Jefferson wrote The Declaration of Independence, and declared the colonies were free from British rule. Before he became the author of The Declaration of Independence, Jefferson was established “ as an ardent republican and revolutionary” (Jacobus 77). Jacobus states Jefferson is, “one of the most versatile Americans of any generation” (Jacobus 78). In The Declaration of Independence, Jefferson and the founding fathers envisioned a government that would
The United States has a deeply rooted and embedded tradition through the Constitution of having a federalist style of governing as its structural framework for operating and guiding the government of the country. The form of governing is best described as a balance between powers of the central government and the powers of each independent and autonomic state. “Federalism is a system in which the power to govern is shared between national and provincial (state) governments, creating what is often called a federation” (Wikipedia 1).This style of governance has not been the only structure instituted in American history in order to implement civilized law and order among the people of the land. Prior to the
In the 1900s - 1940s the federal government enacted many new policies and acts that caused the growth of their power. In this time, the expansion of the government's power proved to be more beneficial than harmful to the majority of American lives.
The fundamental purpose of the United States is to assure the integrity and vitality of our free society, which explains our determination; to maintain the essential elements of individual freedom, as set forth in the Constitution and Bill of Rights; to create conditions under which our free and democratic system can live and prosper; to fight if necessary to defend our way of life.
