My friend Liz is probably the only person who I could really turn to for advice and her wisdom and knowledge has always helped me through the rough times and the good times. I remember meeting Liz

I remember her Astrology phase which lead into other similar aspects like numerology, love signs, birthday meanings. It was an interesting chapter in all of our lives. What makes Liz wise is that she has patience with everyone and everything. She will sit there and listen to you and give advice and a shoulder to lean on. I remember I was having boy trouble and by the third time the guy and I split he wanted me back the next day. I was so confused by him and his emotions that I went to Liz and ask for advice and what does she think. Being that she knew me and my relationship with the guy, she gave me some good comments and advice that still sticks to me today. She said about the pattern that the guy and I had is not a healthy for either of us. She said that he’s just playing with my emotions and using me for a doormat for something else that was really getting his attention. I was young and naïve to see what was really going on with him and I thought I was really in love with him. The attributes that I believe I developed most fully is the love of learning. I find everything as a challenge. Mastering skills, topics, and bodies of knowledge keeps me busy and absorbing and experiencing new obstacles. My latest mastering skill is calligraphy. At first it was quite difficult but after some time and practice I am able to make important announcements freehand
I believe it is very important to have personal goals and strengths; to always have a positive mindset for yourself, your environment; and the people around you. Growing up, my parents instilled, what I think, are good morals and values such as: integrity, determination, professionalism, discipline, time management, leadership, and teamwork. As a certified pharmacy technician of almost five years, it is very important to display these traits in the workplace making sure my job is done correctly and efficiently, as I have people’s lives in my hands. My learning strengths consist of hard work, dedication, willingness to learn, and the ability to teach others. I have some weaknesses as well, but my biggest is having a loose tongue. Knowing your
5) Which of the specialty areas do you think you would most like to work in? Why?
While looking through the list of characteristics to write about, one jumped out at me and I instantly knew what I was going to write about. Learning is my passion in life and the reason I want to attend Florida State University is so that I can pursue that passion. Gathering new knowledge has been, and always will be, the most important part of life for me
Pick two to three competencies from the listing for which you feel you are currently strong, and describe why you feel that way.
“Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.” This is not only a quote by Charles Spurgeon but a philosophy that I have been trying to live by my entire life. This quote fits perfectly into this prompt because it explains how Chris was a fool. Undeniably, Chris was very knowledgeable, he graduated from one of the top universities in the country maintaining an A grade in his classes. But as the quote reads, many people know a lot and that’s what makes them fools, using knowledge for the right purpose gives someone wisdom. Essentially the quote conveys that the implementation of knowledge separates the fools from the wise. Instead of using his knowledge to help society Chris decided that he had enough of society and wanted to live on his own. Hence, Chris McCandless is a fool because he went into the wild alone and unprepared, he didn’t have knowledge of how to survive in the wilderness alone, and his personality features lead him to his death.
What has helped me better understand or relate to others in ways that I may have not in the past was probably during a crucial time in America, and that was 9/11. Many people had a hard time liking Muslims and I didn’t quite understand. I gradually figured out that because some Muslims are bad doesn’t mean that all Muslims are bad. I have grown a respect for Muslims and for other races. As an African American, I have not learned anything new about my family or our culture. What I have realized is that I hear about African American leaders, and people who have stood up for their race. I feel honored at times to be who I am, I don’t neglect my race at all, and I embrace it.

3. My biggest goal is “I can ask for and give simple directions to go somewhere and do something.” I feel that this would be a very useful skill to have, especially if I were to ever got lost.
My creativity enables me to see things in a different way, a way that may make things simpler or makes them go smoother. I am also very willing to try new ideas as I like to hear what others have to suggest. For example, something may not be working out the way that it was meant to and I can accept that and try any new ideas brought up to me. Listening is also important because someone may point out something that I never realized, and criticism goes along with that. I can take criticism well, and I even encourage it. I am always looking to better myself and it helped build me into the musician and person I am today. Furthermore, I do not fear making mistakes. Mistakes are how we learn, and we will never get anywhere if mistakes are never made.
development because I will learn in-depth information related to my field and be able to apply
I was also able to give her advice many other couldn’t, as I’ve had similar problems. Friendships are vital to emerging adults and throughout adulthood. Friends lend advice that some family cannot and without them we’d be without valuable advice and ear to listen.
5. Collaborative – This is my strongest asset as I am very adaptable and able to work in a small or large group whether it is in or outside of work.
I have learned that I am a creative and compassionate. I am a creative person because I enjoy activities that allow m to put things together. I like to let my imagination run and make things look more exciting I also think that I am a very good listener which makes me a very compassionate person. I
Jessica was a truly amazing friend. She was a true friend. I could always depend on her being there for me with the right words of advice. Even if I did not want to hear what she was saying. She had been exactly where I was and she knew how perilous the journey of adolescence could be. She informed and guided me in my choices. Yet she never forced anything on me. My
A) I expected to get artistic, creative and investigative as my results on surveys that I took, because I already knew I had these traits as a part of my personality. However, the results from my learning styles survey were a little surprising to me. I got visual as my highest total score, while kinesthetic and auditory were almost balanced out scores. The reason why I was a little surprised was that last year, I took a survey to figure out my learning style, and I got both auditory and visual learner. The results have their little differences, but that shows people do change over time. Learning styles can be learned and strengthened.
