Undoubtedly, the American Red Cross has done many wonders over the course of its existence. Whether it is providing relief from disasters, aiding the less fortunate nationally and internationally or saving lives with their blood program, the Red Cross has always been there to help the world become a safer place to live in. Most recently, this organization has had a strong impact in the recovery of “Superstorm” Sandy and Hurricane Isaac, providing food and water, multiple shelters for people that have lost their homes and even counseling during such a devastating time (“Top 20 Accomplishments”).

Whether it is a local flood or a national disaster, there is always one organization there to help, the American Red Cross. Each year the organization turns down no one in need, benefits 70,000 people in disaster relief, along with saving three lives every time a person donates blood. The American Red Cross has evolved through the years and is still known as one of the most important nonprofit organizations in the world.
Also the ability to find temporary shelter is one of the responsibilities I have to take under consideration when planning and organizing the evacuation process after a disaster. The American Red Cross, the organization has shelters set up across the emergency route as and they have the resources to accommodate all persons looking for safe and sufficient refuge they also make available food and medication to families that have evacuated from the flood.
The Red Cross is one organisation that provides cares the ones who need it most. The network of the movement is composed of all the donors and other supportive and assisting people that are there to help. The movement is providing support with its employees and anyone who wishes to help. They take care of the disasters and are the relief disposers of the reconstruction of any of the problems and the shelter provisions in the time of the disaster that is their main focus with other activities like the supporting of the people of the military personnel’s that are protecting the nation and they help the people respond to the challenges of the military life that is there and that needs to be attended to in order to be compensated. The World Food Program makes food available to those who otherwise might have starved and the UN Children's Funds provides education for children who have been uprooted by conflict and disasters ((UN news center, Global Issues). Along with these other organizations and offices, the UN World Health Organization helps to protect and provide for those displaced by the ravages of natural disasters and disease (UN news center, Global Issues).
