Unit 5 Reflection Ethics Brochure: Information In unit 5, we were only assigned one assignment and that was the brochure assignment. For the brochure assignment, my partner and I did Identity Theft and Computers as our topic. After analyzing the brochure assignment, I think that the information part of the brochure was our best work. We demonstrated extensive research skills by doing a lot of research that is enough to educate the reader on the topic. The information was relevant, made sense and covered the topic very well. The brochure included information that explained the dangers of Identity theft, how to prevent it, possible solutions, etc. From the information, I had learned many new things and gained a lot of new knowledge about Identity Theft and Computers such as how to prevent it, what is it, etc. Also, I learned how to create a proper brochure using publisher and its various elements. I will continue to use publisher in the future for school …show more content…
When I was scrolling through a list of different templates, the amount of good design themes for the brochures were very sparse. In the end, I chose a design theme that I liked the most and edited a little by changing the colours, etc. From this assignment I learned how to edit the design of brochures and also other documents. I also learned about different types of brochures such as a Trifold brochure, etc. I can improve the design of my brochure by instead of just making it two simple blue and pink lines, I can add a better design theme to my brochure such as a design on the lines. I could also just use the themes provided by Microsoft Publisher instead of editing a template too much because it may mess up the design. I will continue to use this software and what I have learned from this assignment to better design my assignments and documents. Also, in the future outside of school to have better designed documents, brochures,
1. Shaw and Barry distinguish two different forms of utilitarianism. What are these two forms? Briefly describe each and use examples.
In chapter 2 of the Ethics Primer Svara discusses many important ideas. Some of these included the importance of people who work for the government doing their civic duty , 3 types of ethical reasonings brought up by a student, and Lawrence Kholbergs model of moral judgement. In the book Svara brings up how people in certain roles have a job to do. They must meet the expectations expected of them or they aren’t serving the public in a full capacity. As you read on the 3 types of ethical reasonings are discussed. They are virtue, principle, and to be a public employee. This student I feel has a pretty spot on idea of how people should act. Honesty and following the law are just things ethically sound people should be doing. It doesn't take a genious to understand right from wrong. Finally a major point of the chapter discussed Lawrence Kohlberg and his model of moral judgement. “Lawrence kholberg (1981) offers a model of moral judgement to help understand how the capacity for ethical reasoning develops and explains the motives for acting at different stages of development”.(23) More specifically he gives the six stages of maturity children go through. These being punishment and obedience, instrumental relativist, good boy;nice girl, society maintaining/law and order, social contract, universal ethical
In unit 4, we were only assigned one assignment to complete. From that one assignment, the flyer portion of the assignment was my best work. The flyer had the best appearance and design. I demonstrated a basic skill, which is using templates, inserting pictures, word art, etc. Another skill I used was marketing because I wrote my paragraph in the sense that it tells the general information and is persuasive. Also, I used my design skills to design an appealing and eye-catching flyer. From this assignment, I learned how to create a professional business flyer using templates and what to add on a business flyer. I will continue to use this assignment in school to do similar projects, make school flyers,

In 1996, former President Bill Clinton signed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act (PWORA), which brought reform to the welfare system. Under this act, Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) was replaced with Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). The enactment of this new program brought about several changes, including transferring the responsibility of welfare from the federal level to the state level, disentitlement to public assistance, and the implementation of work requirements to receive aid (Karger and Stoesz, 2014, p. 228). As social workers, it is important to understand this act and how it fits into our professional goals. While TANF does reflect many of the standards put in place by the National
I can say that when I was reflecting on the past semester I came to the conclusion that I did use and learn two of the main objective. The two that I used was Applying research and use writing to develop a burgeoning understanding of the genres and format common to various disciplines and Construct accurate and responsible documentation appropriate to the disciplines.
The main points of provision five of the ANA code of ethics are as follows: section 5.1, which is moral self-respect, suggests that nurses must care for themselves as much as they care for their patients. Nurses must do their best to maintain professional respect to themselves in regards of their competence and moral character. Section 5.2, which is professional growth and maintenance of competence, suggests that nurses must continue to self and peer evaluate themselves throughout their careers. Nurses must continue to learn current, up to date nursing practices through self, peer, and higher education. Section 5.3, which is wholeness of character, suggests that nurses must develop and take into consideration their own
Additionally I share with students the cautionary tales of Jayson Blair and Cooks Source magazine. A journalist at the New York Times, Blair fabricated news stories in 2003 and published reporting under his byline that was not his own. The Cooks Source incident (http://bit.ly/izlauT) is particularly relevant to today's students, who may--as an editor at the magazine did--believe that everything on the Internet is public property. In November 2010, Cooks Source was caught copying stories from a blogger and posting them wholesale in their publication without permission or attribution. By the way, after resigning in disgrace, Blair no longer works as a journalist and the Cooks Source site now redirects to a Web hosting company.
What was most useful to me was the Ethical boundary worksheet. This worksheet took me through a systematic process of identifying my professional and personal boundary weaknesses and strengths and how they related to my personal/emotional responses throughout my life. The attraction portion of the exercise compelled me to take an in-depth and personal view of what are my primary influences toward this topic. Finally, it provided me a freedom to formulate an awareness plan of action for future reference as it pertains to my professional development.
* --Is it ethical for an employer to require as a condition of employment or use as a consideration for advancement promotion, that an employee participate in organizations apart from the business (ie. community non-profit organizations)? Does the type or nature of the organization make a difference?
2. Advocacy: Since a public relations professional works as an advocate for the public, it is important to provide the public with pertinent information so that people can make informed decisions. For instance, when presenting information to the public, it's important to provide views from different sides and/or people, as well as all of the relevant facts.
New York & Company also throws in an ethics hotline as a part of their dispute resolution system. According to the New York & Company Associate Onboarding Activity Workbook, the ethics hotline is described as an anonymous and confidential third party hotline (27). This is mainly used as a resource for associates to report other employees stealing merchandise or taking money from a cash register. It is important to have this hotline because it allows employees to anonymously report when other employees are breaking company policy. This is beneficial if the employee sees their manager stealing from the company because an employee would not feel comfortable reporting that to their manager as a part of the open door policy. The suggestion here is to keep the ethics hotline as a resource for
Then, if I were ask to add two items to the Statement of Ethical Principles, it would be integrity and loyalty. Those two values can keep someone on the right track in terms of behavior. In my opinion, integrity is an ability to do the right things, but it cannot guarantee that it will be forever. That is why we need loyalty. Loyalty means continuously doing the thing they used to do. So, if someone has integrity and loyalty, it is a complete package.
"Our results indicate that the informal methods ("manager sets an example" or "social norms of the organization") are likely to yield greater commitment with respect to both employee attitudes than formal methods ("training courses on the subject of ethics") (Adam, et al, 2004).
