There are several intervention strategies and approaches for the conflict intervention, such as problem solving, compromise, expansion of resources, organization redesign and activism. However, problem solving, institutional redesign, expansion of resources, and activism are very important intervention tools for this conflict. Problem solving strategy focuses on the attainment of the common interests of the parties, however, it has significant weakness or limitations as well. Organization redesign refers to restructuring the existing system, which allows to mix representation in the government and power. Next, expansion of resources shall help the community for better education and economic opportunity. Lastly, peaceful activism can build strong community with knowledge, and education. In this typical conflict, conflict resolution stakeholders should work collectively with mutual understanding. Basically, nation states, peace leaders, multi-national organizations, and the United Nations have to have a joint coalition to work together. First, we should realize the fact that how the Abu Sayyaf has emerged. People joined the group because they were unhappy with the government intervention in minorities conflict. They felt themselves as politically depressed by Christian majority, basically they wanted to get the fair share of political power. However, it is more complex in recent days, because their goals are reformed. The Abu Sayyaf want to create a caliphate, which is a very complicated idea in twenty first century.
