Plan of Attack Summary of Project The term project for ECIV 405, Fall 2014 Semester, is the Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship (JJCBE). JJCBE will be constructed in the northeast side of the campus at Montana State University, Bozeman. The building site is north of Wilson Hall, east of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Building, and about 500 feet north of Montana Hall. JJCBE is expected to attain LEED Gold status at the completion of the project, which is very exciting for Montana State University. The existing project site is relatively flat, existing utilities need to be moved, trees need to be cut down, and pavement needs to be cut before construction can commence. Our team will keep work hours strictly to 7AM -5PM with students’ dormitories close by. Time of Day delivery restrictions could also apply given campus activities. Keeping an aggressive schedule, staying ahead of schedule, and planning work far in advance will assist so that these restrictions do not hit unexpectedly. Weather Weather in Montana can be very unpredictable at times. Snow comes early, and stays late. Our team will work in proactive means to prevent delays to the schedule. As we near winter months, we will also account for longer lead times to receive materials so we are not delayed from deliveries, only installation deliveries with unexpected weather. University Traffic Protection of the public is crucial throughout the entirety of the project. Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship is being constructed on a very busy campus, in a populated area. Controlling and detouring traffic, people, and parking around the site properly will be of grave concern. The entire construction site will be enclosed in 6 ft. high chain link fence and where pedestrian safety is exclusively endangered outside this area, barricades will be placed to inform persons of possible safety hazards. If any visitors are brought to the project site, proper safety orientation will be successfully completed and they will wear proper PPE. Crane Operations
I have been asked to put together a report for the potential construction project for The City Of Liverpool College. The current site being looked at is on Roscoe Street. I will be discussing the consequences which could occur to the buildings in proximity to the site location, and the people who could be affected.
Other possible hazards are doors and exit points. Doors should have a spring device to close on themselves once they’re open to minimise anyone leaving without being notices, secure stair-gates should be fitted at both ends to minimise falls, and the main entrance should have a secure lock/ buzzer system to minimise unlawful entry or exit.
-Flexible workday guidelines to encourage people to start each day at whatever time is best
Mercy College’s DPT program is unique in its weekend format. I understand due to the time constraints, classes will more challenging, rigorous, and fast-paced. As a physical therapy aide at Spectrum Physical Therapy, I had the opportunity to ask a student from Mercy College about the weekend format. She briefly described how classes were scheduled in the weekend format and many factors I would need to take into consideration to succeed academically. Though her words of wisdom, I quickly realized that I would need to lessen my work hours more than I anticipated. This realistic time management will allow me to factor in unforeseen circumstances such as traffic, group study sessions and additional time in the labs.
A security guard would be positioned in the temporary guard shack 24/7 to monitor the vehicles using jib lane until the project is completed. The security guard would exit the temporary guard house and open the gate for a vehicle to exit. Upon the exit of a vehicle, the security guard would close the gate.
The FSD received OSPI approval and funding for the project after submitting the compliance verification and details with the applicable state and local regulations. The Educational Service District assists FDS with meeting regulatory requirements and implementing the optimal management practices. OSPI does not have the authority to manage the construction process, or the school operation and maintenance.
* During summer months when there are fewer students on campus shorten café hours Monday – Friday 6 am to 6 pm and Saturday – Sunday 8 am to 8pm.
Well that would require us to add 1 hour and 45 minutes to each day. This would have us going to 5:00 p.m. each day. Some students get to school at 6:20 for athletics. If they had to stay until five, they will have been at school for 10 hours and 40 minutes which will easily over stress and work these students. Even those who don’t have athletics have to be at the school by 8:00 a.m. and would have to stay till 5:00 p.m. The classic american work hours are 9-5. That composes a 8 hour shift which is what most people work. This means that students will be here for 1 hour more than the number of hours most adults work.
Although I set working hours whilst on PEP, sometime I was required to be flexible with the time schedule to complete some tasks sooner for further processing, and this definitely challenged me especially during the assignment week at uni. For instance, if someone from the Mind Smart Guides Focus Group couldn’t attend a session, I still needed to reschedule with him or her individually to cover his/ her task.
For my capstone project at Northeastern University, I worked on the Quincy Center MBTA Station Renovation Project in Quincy, Massachusetts. MBTA is an acronym for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Agency. The city of Quincy is engaged in a revitalization project of its downtown. The city officials see the Quincy Center MBTA Station as the gateway to downtown Quincy; they want a gateway befitting the new downtown. My team was responsible of providing financing options for the Quincy Center MBTA Station project.
In 2009, Perkins + Will was commissioned to design the Earth Sciences Building (ESB) at the University of British Columbia. ESB is designed to develop the growing relations between the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmosphere, the Department of Statistics, the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences, the Dean of Science and the Pacific Museum of the Earth, providing important chances for shared learning and partnership. Placed along Main Mall, the primary north-south pedestrian route on campus, the building provides opportunity to add visual interest to the pedestrian experience by displaying the research inside the building; to achieve this, the ground floor is considered the main public space, and is glazed on all sides to maximize visibility into the building. Situated across the street is the Beaty Biodiversity Museum, which along with the ESB creates a ‘museum precinct’ in this area of the campus. Also, to promote the project goal of ‘science on display’, a double-height research lab area operates as a backdrop to integrate exhibits from the Pacific Museum of the Earth. The building contains faculty and staff offices for each department, research laboratories, three lecture theatres, and a café. A five-storey atrium divides the north and south wings of the building, providing an organized structure for the departments while simultaneously creating an east-west pedestrian route directly through the building. Unlike the concrete south wing that contains the
Hours of operation: Daily on school days: 2:45 to 6:00 p.m. Typical daily time schedule is 3:05 - 4:15 - silent homework, 4:15 - 4:30 – snack, 4:30 - 5:00 - gym (20-30 minutes), 5:00 – 6:00 - educational computer games (library has specific sites students may go to). During silent homework, students work independently on homework and school projects. There are tutors available most days to help students with homework questions. Coral Care staff checks planners daily to help keep students on track, so we request from students to bring their planners daily. We ask that parents provide a small snack for their child daily and a lunch and a couple of snacks on half days.
The design strategy for a skywalk at the Royal Oak Campus entails the use of ramps and steps rising to 5 meters and ramps having a gradient of 1:10.The skywalk will link the faculty parking and the college with a 3metres wide ramp,5 meters wide steps and a slab width of 6500 meters 500metres above the ground level with a building line on each side of 6 meters. Pedestrians and cyclists will use the proposed Skywalk it will be situated to allow pedestrians to cross Washington Avenue because there are no nearby roads to necessitate a road for access. This will let pedestrians cross safely without slowing down the traffic. Upon the approval of the design proposal, our architect designed a skywalk for Washington Avenue. The designer worked on this project over the course of seven weeks. The architect interviewed ten people on the preferred features of the proposed skywalk. A survey was also undertaken on the zoning information for the city of Washington in order to determine the maximum garage size possible. The plan designer compiled the clients’ information as well as the zoning information to determine the actual size of the parking lot, designed the floor plan and completed the report. The recommended design for the skywalk, which is a modification of the design found at http://www.aardvark-house-plans.com. The design provides ample space for pedestrians to walk through. The skywalk features a two-sided walk that can accommodate light traffic of bicycles and
Hour and resource restrictions, when managed well, can make or break business productivity. Semi Inc. is a semiconductor company that faces the challenge of hour restrictions daily. We will explore this company’s process, highlight the methods they are currently using to counter this challenge and provide a solution to the challenge.
Next thing I had to work on was schedules almost everyone was schedule against their availability and it was a problem so I printed everyone availability and had individual’s conversations with my associates to see what I could change so it fits the need of the business and most of them could and they did. the ones that couldn’t I did my best to work with them .so I showed them how to update the availability and when they did I approved it and then the computer won 't let me schedule against it. They wouldn 't have to be worried about being schedule when their availability says that they are not able to work at that time. Plus, the more they open up thier available the better are your chances for more hours.
