Hospitality is defined as the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers. Hospitality is something that can be seen everywhere, regardless of geographical location, religion, etc. This initially sparked my interest because hospitality is something does not require anything special to do. Everywhere a person goes, hospitality can be seen in some way, shape, or form.

The hospitality and leisure industry hug a variety of sectors and businesses across hotels, restaurants and restaurants, travel and tourism, gaming, sport and leisure. The sector is reliant on the consumer confidence and business sentiment and is facing rising pressure to deliver innovation, value and quality. Hospitality is that business that helps people to feel welcome, relaxed and to enjoy themselves. According to the World Bank, the hospitality industry revenue has been the largest contribution to the world GDP, for the sixth consecutive year, outdoing a total of 10.2% (US$7.6 Trillion) in the year 2016. The hospitality industry currently employs around 292 million of people, and that means that 1 in 10 jobs around the globe is linked to the hospitality industry (Oxford Economics for World Travel & Tourism Council, 2017)

Tourism plays a vital role in economic development in most countries around the world. The industry has not only direct economic impact, but also significant indirect and influential impacts. There is agreement among experts that the travel and tourism sector is the fastest growing of global economy. According to the latest UNWTO World Tourism Barometer, international tourism receipts surpass US$ 1 trillion in 2011, growing about 3.8%up from 2010 (WTO, 2012).

The Tourism and Hospitality Industry is one of the largest industries in the country. This industry is one of the key front-line players which contributes greatly to the growth of the economy of a country. They are the vital source of income for both government and private sectors. People often mistaken that the duty of the profession in the tourism and hospitality to be somewhat similar, that is to serve clients but in fact, there is actually a vast difference between the roles of a tour guide, travel tour manager and travel agency manager.

The hotel industry in India has been evolving and developing itself every year according to the need of the hour. The concept of boutique hotel has also shown its effect on the Indian soil leading to its growth and development over the decade and will continue forward.
