Lead By Example- Faith Integration Paper My father and uncles’ instilled a statement in my head from a young age that I will never forget. This statement is closely related to the Law of Legacy and very relevant to being a leader in the modern business world. The statement only consists of a few words, but these words are very powerful and if this statement is followed, your reputation as a leader will be respected and hopefully emulated. The statement is, “Lead by example, do what is right, be the best you can be, and treat others the way you would like to be treated.” I believe this statement is related to the law of legacy because it is action oriented. John Maxwell states in his description of the law of legacy that leaders

Each of these phases incorporated Jesus as leading by example and with each new phase, a higher level of commitment is necessary. The goal of this demonstration is that through your example, they will learn and use your tools to translate into being successful leaders themselves.
A biblical example of the law of legacy comes from Moses in the book of Numbers. The scripture comes from Numbers 27:18-23. In this scripture, Moses strategically taught Joshua through apprenticeship training and passed along his legacy, which no one questioned upon the passing of the torch. Joshua eventually became known as a leader who would complete the task of leading the people into the Promised Land. This, according to Maxwell’s description of the Law of Legacy is the ultimate goal, and exactly what Moses achieved. The subsequent examples are not only relevant to Moses teaching Joshua in the biblical times, but also for a modern leader preparing his “sheep” for taking over the business.
Moses empowered Joshua and gave him authority. To be a successful leader in the modern business world, you have to decide when it is the appropriate time for your successor to receive a bite of the pie. If you wait to long and they are thrown straight into the fire, success may not be achieved and your legacy and or reputation may be damaged. If you share the load with your successor, they can better understand the qualities and actions needed to be successful.
“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” John C. Maxwell
“In order to be a good leader, there are two things to remember. Lead from the Front and always set the Example. From these two leadership principles, everything else will fall into place.”
Advertisements are an important vehicle designed to promote or help sell a product, service or idea (Young, 2014, p.35). As a dimension of IMC, advertising is “…most often associated with offenses that attract attention from critics and regulators alike” (Young, 2014, p.34). This can be
"There is a difference between being a leader and being a boss. Both are based on authority. A boss demands blind obedience; a leader earns his authority through understanding and trust." Klaus Balkenhol

Principle 1- Communication skills are a must for a leader to be able to effectively communicate the tasks that need to be completed. In Genesis 41:47-57 Joseph was able to effectively lead the people to store up enough food in seven years to sell to those in need within the next seven years during the famine. In doing so he saved the lives of many who would have otherwise died from the famine.
My father once told me that, “everything we do— be it in academia, at work, social or family life—we are guided by principles, beliefs and values that collectively form our ideology of life.” I believe that every leader, to a certain extent, is shaped through her individual personal experience. Although in some cases, we may not realize to what extent our personal assumptions and beliefs shape our ability to lead or be led.
David is a prime example of one who uses directive leadership. He showed this when he decided that he wanted Bathsheba for himself even though she was married. On the eve of her husband?s death, David sent this message to his first in command Joab. ?Put Uriah in the front line where the fighting is fiercest. Then withdraw from him so he will be struck down and die,? 2 Samuel 11:14. He did this because he knew that he had the power and no one could stop him. To make this more ironic, the message was brought by Uriah, no knowing that would be his last day alive. This
In order for a leader to be a leader he/she must begin with the assumption that you are the one who matters most. As a leader you have to possess that level of confidence in yourself that you are capable of leading yourself “before you can lead others”. And when you develop this belief then you are better able of affirmative influence “on others”.
Authentic leaders create healthy enterprises for the long term and almost without exception, emerging leaders have solid values and a sense of purpose. We are looking to make a difference, to contribute to a worthwhile cause through our work and to find a reasonable balance between our work and home lives. In addition, to work where we trust the leaders and share a common set of values is essential to the chemistry involved in organizational leadership. “We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully” (Romans 12:6-8, 1984, NIV).
Psalms 23:1-3, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.” (NKGV) In this scripture, God views himself as the leader of the sheep and guides them. God shows how a biblical leader should be envisioned. Biblical leaders are chosen by God to lead others through their Christian influence to guide them down the right paths. What is biblical leadership? According to Todd Engstrom, “Biblical leadership is meeting someone where they are, and taking them where Jesus wants to go.” Biblical leadership is therefore intensely personal and at the same time intensely biblical. The definition provides a basic foundation for leadership, but also expands to a more biblical meaning. Leadership is not about position, authority, or who knows the most information but more so about one life influencing another. A good leader seeks leadership from God, Proverbs 16:1 “The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.”
Countless times leaders operate on instinct that has grown from what they have seen in the past. What leaders see others do sets the stage for what they may do in the future. A leader of sound character will exhibit that character at all times.” (p. 7-13)

“Leadership is influencing others by your character, humility, and example. It is recognizable when others follow in word and deed without obligation or coercion”.( Sonny Newman, president of contract manufacturer EE Technologies)
To have great leadership, there needs to be a leader-follower relationship. The relationship can’t be effective without inspiration, involvement, and support from both participants. To develop this alliance, the leader must give extra effort to reach out to followers. The only way a leader can be successful is if the follower trusts the leader. The most important characteristic of a leader is to set a good example for their followers.
