Fast foods are considered in the definition of Merriam-Webster Dictionary (2015), as relating to, or specializing in food that can be prepared and served quickly at a fast–food restaurant that is designed for ready availability, use, or consumption and with little consideration given to quality or significance. Problem Statement The purpose of this research paper is to supply information concerning the functions fast foods and healthy foods has in the environment in relation to our bodies. The function of foods in daily life continues to be a stumbling block to the body performance that often increases stress levels and influences the body’s ability to function properly (Malhi, 2010). The relationship between body image, stress, behavior, and student performance appear to be rare in literature, school handbooks and resources that is readily available leaving a gap in research. The complex nature of the body when there are levels of increased fast foods, creates considerable challenges for the body, (Dellve & Wikström, 2009), with individual who have diets high in fast foods being subject to greater health risks (Wolever, et al., 2012).
