Explain your thoughts and experiences about fear and failure. I deeply believe in learning from failure can make you a stronger person; also the fear that comes with it, can be overcome as more risk are being taken. “Success is not about the achievement. Every time I step out into the unknown, win or lose, I succeed” (Milazzo ph11).
When trying something new it has not always going to be a success. We humans learn from our mistakes and that is how we can become successful.

One was becoming a musician and the other was to become a videogame developer. My mother was telling me the quit on being a musician and go to school. Like my mother I also had the fear and failure of wasting time, but I took the risk on going. I gave it a try for a year and I learned that I did not want to do that. “Failure is how we learn” (Carroll ph3). I knew if i did not take that risk I would of regretted it my whole life and that is weight that I cannot
Growing up, I was never really sure what to tell people when they asked what I wanted to do when I was older. Over the years I flip-flopped between a laundry list of possible professions: veterinarian, nurse, EMT, cosmetologist, and many more short-lived dreams. As I grew and learned from my life experiences, I realized
I want to do when I finish school. My mother always told me that I would be a babysitter, because I like to take care of kids. On the other hand, I thought that I wanted to be a teacher However, being a student for twelve long years I noticed how children behaved in school. In my mind, I knew that wasn’t the future job for me. When I was in the third grade, my grandmother had a stroke. Since she had gotten sick, I had to take care of her .This is what persuaded me to become a Registered Nurse.
Before I graduated from high school, I devised a five year plan for myself. First, I would attend SUNY Albany to obtain a degree in business. Then, I would attend a cosmetology school, acquire the 1,000 hours needed to take my state board exams, take those exams to finally secure my cosmetology license. All of this would eventually lead to opening my own salon in the future. About a month before my graduation, an ambulance bolted my mom to the hospital.
Learning from failure is important to having a successful life. You have to figure out what works and what does not which requires some trial and error. Many famous entrepreneurs who have a successful career have experienced many failures in their lifetime. An example of
I knew I wanted to be successful in life. I wanted my son to be proud of his mother. There was a strength in me I knew exsisted. I wanted to make an impact on my life and the life of others and I knew education was the key. I worked and continued to do research on healthcare careers and schools I could attend. After researching the different professions, I knew I wanted to be a Dental Assistant. I decided to move back to San Diego to pursue my new career.
I was indecisive of my future career path. My mom would tell me the classic “You should be a lawyer” or “You should be a doctor.” I would go along with her idea for a couple weeks until I jumped off the bandwagon. I wasn’t passionate about either of those fields; I was interested in both math and science and as a young girl. As I got older, I became invested in technology due to my love of gaming, but I didn’t know that people devote their lives to technology until I interned.
She wanted her kids to go to school and be something in life and get a career we’re good at. I set a goal for myself I will do everything in my power to attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University for my mother. Mostly everything I do now is for my amazing mother. I love and miss her dearly but i’m never going to give up on life.
This demonstrates how trying things is better than not trying; if you do you get some independence and learn the ways of critical
In 1879, I attended Ohio Central College, when I was only 14! I edited the newspaper of the college, where I found my love for journalism. I graduated in 1882. Not knowing what I wanted to do for a living, I became a teacher. Then I became an insurance
Quite often you hear that we do not grow without failure; that failure is what teaches us a new skill and how to then succeed. I was not familiar with the quote, “adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant,” by Horace, however I think this quote is true. To me, this means that when someone has some kind of disadvantage, that person can use the challenge to his advantage through self-reflection, determination, and hope. Every person faces an obstacle, usually many and of various degrees of challenge, and although you cannot control the situation, you can control your reaction. Those of us that learn from adversity take our time to figure out how to approach the problem in a new manner. We recognize that one barrier is not a reason to abandon our course. We think outside the box for how to overcome the challenge. We learn from the first failure and we regroup for the next approach. Failure teaches you how to define yourself rather than how others define you. All four of the
As far as I remember I would always play nurse with my siblings and make them feel better. When my parents would take me to the store to pick up a toy, I always picked band-aids and pretend doctor kit. My long-term career is becoming a Registered Nurse, and my short-term career is the career I currently have as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
A couple years later my mom turned eighteen and graduated high school. Straight from high school she was pushed to find a better paying job. Due to my grandma already working at the hospital, she managed to get my mom a job as a file clerk. My mom worked there for a couple years until she got
As I discussed earlier in my writtings, I think that failure cannot be avoided and we are presented with failures to gain an opportunity to learn. Failures will be an aspect at some point professionally and or personally so that we can grow and develop as
career again, and a significant life event in my life was also when I had a baby in 2014. Although, I have many life events in the past, when I had a baby and became a mother significantly shaped my life because his presence in my life made me more focused on nursing degree. But, I was not comfortable telling this to my husband. I can compare this part of my life to Walter Hansen in the “The Undeclared Major” by Will Weaver. Walter did not know what he wants his major to be, so he was keep changing his major, when he finally decides to be an English Major, he was scared to tell his father ().
My explanation somehow did not work well. I started struggling between my career and my father’s “career”. Before it was too late to decide my major, I gave a chance for myself and picked something related to my future career.
