I’m charged up with lion pride. I am very ecstatic to apply for a scholarship at the illustrious Florida Memorial University. I, Stephanie Bigot, grew up in Miami, Florida in a household influenced by strong Haitian culture. Coming from a strong cultured background its imperative that I have a plan to secure my future for good standing, physically, mentally and financially. It has been taught to me to accept the empowerment given to maintain cultural integrity, while succeeding academically. I’m currently classified as a Junior majoring in Business Marketing with plans to expand to Communications. I enjoy meeting professionals through networking while expanding my knowledge base through acquiring experience in various ways. Eager …show more content…
As an Orientation Leader I serve as a representative for Florida Memorial University fulfilling diverse roles while becoming a friend and mentor to new students, the PR Director for Faces Modeling Troupe Inc. Miami Chapter ensuring the communication strategy is consistent reflecting the non-for-profit organization strategic vision, and an active member of the University’s National Society Collegiate Scholars Program building bonds with fellow members that will enhance my life both now and in the world beyond college, all the while striving to pursue a Bachelors Degree. Volunteering my time and effort on and off campus has and continues to instill lifelong lessons into my personal growth. I wholeheartedly believe that the person who should have the most vested interests in my career is I, therefore, I take precaution when making decisions that will be reflected throughout my college career. This summer, through Commissioner Barbara Jordan’s Summer Youth Internship Initiative, I was awarded an awesome opportunity to intern at El Dorado Furniture in the Marketing Department, which I insightfully claim to be an eye opening and gratifying involvement. It truly helped build my professional experience in my field of study. In the future I plan to join my campus chapter of the American Marketing Association
My experience as an intern at 3M consisted of carrying out laboratory research to ensure the safety and durability of the large-scale manufacturing medicine filter, Zeta Plus™. This experience advanced my ability to collaborate, think ahead, apply what I have learned in Chemistry and Mathematics, and increase my expertise in computer software. My current position in Community Relations at Travelers entails for me to communicate with and manage volunteer opportunities for over 3,000 employees, in addition to connecting Travelers with non-profit partners, event planning, and serving as a liaison in Saint Paul for my remote manager and team in Hartford, Connecticut. This position enables me to not only exercise and expand my communication and technical skills, but also allows for me to learn about myself. And lastly, as a Resident Advisor at the University of Minnesota, I have been able to serve as an academic, social, and personal resource for forty first-year students. As an RA, communication and time management have been at the heart of my success. As a junior studying Marketing and Computer Science, my interests lie within the space of sales marketing, technology and international business, and I strongly believe that Morgan Stanley will allow for me to expand my knowledge in these areas. I sincerely hope to continue this learning process as an intern this coming
The transition from being a child, dependent upon parents for everything, to an independent adult is one of the most stressful times a person will endure. Legally speaking, 18 is the age when you become an adult but the number doesn’t describe the responsibilities and independence you must take on. College is seen as the “big step” into the real world and many people struggle in choosing where to make their transition. I would like to take my “big step” by attending Florida Atlantic University.
Throughout my undergraduate career at the University of South Carolina, I continually found myself drawn to internship opportunities
Through experiencing social injustices, and making myself more culturally aware of inequality amongst social classes, I believe I have cultivated the leadership skills necessary for success. My willingness to reach out to the environment beyond me has exposed me to a career path that excites me and is my true passion. I plan to take action to improve the lives of the defenseless and those who are politically and socially disadvantaged. Through utilizing what I have learned by dedicating my time to service I know that I will truly make an impact on the lives of the helpless. During my years attending university I plan to continue a rigorous course load focused on a career path that truly intrigues me. I also plan on continuing to dedicate my free time to service and philanthropy. Overall, I have dedicated my high school career to becoming a leader in and out of the classroom. I hope that by attending University of Texas-Austin I will be able to utilize the resources provided to become a leader prepared to make worldwide change, continue on a path of academic achievement, and create a successful future not only for myself, but for those in generations to come as
Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) offers a lot for us, students, in the Residence Halls. Comfortable lounges for us to study and hang out with our friends, free cable, accessible water fountains, and microwaves and mini-fridges are already provided for us. However, something valuable is missing from our Residence Halls that would have been a huge plus to living on campus. Where are our kitchens? The meal options at OLLU are great, but the food at the Cyber Café tends to get boring and bland, and the Sister Annie B's Cafeteria can get crowded with long lines to get food. Cooking is what makes food exciting and more gratifying, but without a kitchen, how will we ever learn to cook for ourselves and enjoy food? The new
As a graduate student in School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, I have acquired so many skills ranging from corporate communications, public relations, brand communications, advertising, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), advanced writing, public speaking, just to mention a few.
As a pre-med hopeful, my criteria for colleges has been the following: the college must have a strong biology program, particularly in genetics, as I plan to major in biology with a concentration in genetics and biotechnology. My ideal college must have a plethora of research opportunities, and it must be affordable for my family. Middle Tennessee State University has met and exceeded all my standards. After applying to colleges with steep tuitions, I realized that I needed to choose a university that would allow me to graduate with little to no debt. My mother had taken courses at MTSU, so I searched the college online and discovered its exceptional biology program. No other Tennessee state school I had researched before had as many in-depth classes as MTSU has.

Asking to write about oneself has a far greater challenge than writing about another, due to the fact of having too much information on the topic it is difficult to find a starting point. Therefore to tackle this task I questioned those closest friends to list my contributing qualities. Overwhelmingly my peers considered me as an extremely caring individual who is always willing to help. When recollecting my past experiences, numerous moments of enjoyable times and cherished adventures came to mind; this is one attribute I would love to contribute to the Florida Gulf Coast University community, the love to completely cherish life is what I passionately want to share. The qualities that allow for life to be enjoyed to the fullest extent include
I lead a robust career in business development and recruiting across many industries, from the time I left high school. In my last position, I was working for Sport Haley, a woman’s golf apparel brand. I enrolled at the Art Institute of Colorado to further align my education with the experience I was attaining towards the pursuit of a creative career. When the company eliminated the inside sales team, I chose to dedicate myself to my education full time to complete my degree.
When I was a child, all I wanted to do was run freely around my neighborhood. Thankfully, I was able to, but not everyone has that opportunity. My career goals have become a little more ambitious – my passion is in community design, wellbeing and physical activity policies, and my goal is to develop healthy, active solutions for all individuals in our community. I am writing this letter in application for the Student Internship with Children’s Respite Care Center (CRCC) to assist the Development and Marketing Department. I have completed 21 credits in the Masters of Public Administration (MPA) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I am keen to gain real-world experience in the nonprofit environment.
During the Fall 2015 Semester at Old Dominion University, I was offered an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pursue an internship that specializes in fundraising and corporate sales for Florida Gulf Coast University Athletic Department. During the first week of my internship at FGCU, I was assigned by my internship coordinator to create several initial goals that were exceedingly met due to supportive co-workers and family members. In addition to meeting my initial goals, I had also experienced several significant learning experiences along with other highlights that have affected my professional growth and development, but also suffered major disappointments due to lack of resources that FGCU had provided for me as an intern. Despite the
Throughout my college career I’ve been involved in several organizations, work projects, and volunteer work to develop the transferrable skills needed to be successful in the professional world. I received several scholarships and awards, including the EIU School of Business Marketing Departmental
Looking back over the past eight weeks interning with the Vanderbilt University Development and Alumni Relations team, I know that I have changed from my first time walking into the LOEWS building. From first hearing about this internship and applying to finishing two months of projects and informal interviews, I learned so much about the world of Advancement and Development. Not only has a new professional path has opened up for me, I have had a chance to flex a few skills that had not been used since my recruitment and business undergrad days that felt very comfortable and enjoyable. My time with the Stewardship Team in DAR has been both enlightening and encouraging towards a future in Advancement.
