Bob Dylan phrased things in an equivocal manner back in 1964 with his song titled, For The Times They Are A-Changin. The truth of the matter is that the times aren’t changing nearly as much as we are changing as human beings; we as human beings are the cause for change and the times are the effect. The Latin origin defines Homo sapiens as wise man, a genus that has continuously evolved throughout the ages. This interminable transformation is not solely one of physical existence, but also spiritual. “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience”, a quote contributed to French philosopher, Teilhard de Chardin; Chardin argued that the universe is grounded in spirit and not matter or …show more content…

At present, humanity appears to be ever focused with online everything and instant gratification. The 21st century, like many centuries before, has been incredibly misled; people believe inaccuracies about life, themselves, the world, humanity, our universe, love, and spirit – among many other things. Society is consumed with self and individual importance, often times completely unaware of the true Self and the importance of mind, body, and spirit connectivity. This connection that I mention isn’t a tangible thing or available on ITunes. The connection between mind, body, and spirit is inherent to us as spiritual beings, but over years of neglect many of us have lost the ability to connect these properties, let alone utilize their full potential. Tolle (2004) expressed his belief regarding individual perception in his book, The Power of Now, “remember that your perception of the world is a reflection of your state of consciousness.
