However, she thought she could handle all the stuff so she joined many societies, took up some jobs and also juggled with some interests at the same time. She then had no time to study. Also, during the planning of her schedule, she can eliminate the activities that are not really a must to join in order to plan a looser schedule. However, if Janet cannot follow the schedule, her previous situation (i.e. unbalanced life) may happen again which makes the schedule become useless. Besides, Janet may still overestimate her ability in planning her activities and make a tight schedule same as before. Another stressor Janet faced is “academic demands”. After she knew she had bad results in studies, she felt overwhelmed. She thinks that she did not understand anything taught in those failed courses and as those were foundation courses, it’s definitely hopeless to pass the new and re-taken courses this semester. This stressor is very common among students especially those who are not very talented in learning like Janet. She may even don’t understand the basic knowledge of those subjects, which makes her further feels difficult to understand the things taught afterwards. To prevent this situation, she should first pay attention in class. She should not use a mobile phone nor do any other unrelated things as it may distract her attention in the class. She also has to take notes while lecturers are teaching in order to prevent herself forgetting the things taught in class immediately. Janet should ask for help from her lecturers or colleagues when she has anything don’t understand as soon as possible. Otherwise, she will only find out it’s more difficult to
