Therefore, Apple crossed the limits of the customs when she rejected the flag as a facility.
However, Apple's parents were so enthusiastic to raise the flag to announce that their daughter is ready to get married. Also, she never told her parents what was the reason behind her refusal, and they did not oblige her. Apple was a challenger to defend her way of thinking despite the fact of her community criticism. In addition, regardless her regret in the end, she somehow does a change, but because none of her community grants her support, her mutiny was not complete.
In brief, the flag was shown in the story as an alternative to the matchmaker within Apple's society. For this applied paper I chose to read the novel Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen. In her biography she writes about her time at McLean Hospital, a residential psychiatric facility in Massachusetts. She tells about the experiences she had there, the people that she met, and most importantly her diagnosis; Borderline Personality Disorder. Through reading her novel I was able to see what caused her diagnosis, the symptoms that she portrayed, and the treatment she received to have the status of recovered.
Apple uses a very own made image that can be apart from the other companies that share the same market. That images helps the target people to differentiate the products, for example, there are many kinds of media player, but the apples’ media player are known as one of the best, with a sound resolution that exceed the competition, making that product wanted by a large slice of the market. That same differentiation can also be seen in every Apple’s products. Apple is one of the best examples when talking about differentiation of products.
As Kingsolver predicted that readers would feel most sympathetic to this character, she chooses to have Leah marry a Congolese man from the village where the family lived. Kingsolver wrote this plot twist in an attempt to bridge the gap between two cultures, to show readers, and society as a whole, that while the cultures are different there is a common ground and there can be happiness, but it is not always so simple. The attempt to bridge the gap was evident in Leah ’s description of her and Anatole’s wedding, “At my request we were married in that room by the village chief, in a ceremony that was neither quite Christian nor Bantu. I asked for God’s blessing and carried red bougainvillea flowers for my mother. Aunt Elisabet draped around our shoulders the traditional marriage cloth called mole, a beautiful double-sized pagne that symbolizes the togetherness of marriage” (Kingsolver 221). Thought it was not the traditional marriage every white American girl dreams of having, for her it was everything she could have hoped for. With the flowers representing her culture, and the cloth representing Anatole’s culture, the two very different cultures are able to intermingle and readers are then able to see it as though they were there. Multiple chapters throughout the novel illustrate the struggles Leah and her Congolese family still experience while the rest of her American family had already left the Congo and moved on to easier living
Janie’s first marriage escalates from her love of the blossoming pear tree where “She had been spending every minute that she could steal from her chores under that tree for the last three days (chapter 2).” As Janie lays under the pear tree listening to the buzzing of the bees, “she saw a dust-bearing bee sink into the sanctum of a bloom; the thousand sister-calyxes arch to meet the love embrace and the ecstatic shiver of the tree from root to tiniest branch creaming in every blossom and frothing with delight (chapter 2).” Janie suddenly thinks what she has just watched is indeed what marriage is. After she witnesses the “marriage” between the pear tree and the bee, Janie looks for similar marriages elsewhere (Weatherspoon,2008). At the age of sixteen, Janie is curious and wants answers. She wanted to be married and live flamboyant, but she was not allowed to do that.
From the Golden State Warriors logo to the United States flag they show a preview of what they are like. The name of my island is Lealtad. The symbol is two people reaching out for each other. In an article in the New York Times, Cynthia Miller-Idriss, says that a flag should be respected because expresses the unity of a society. The name and symbol both show what a country or group believes in and shows that they are unique and that the society works together. If you take a look at the Canadian flag it will show a maple leaf, the maple tree is the national tree in Canada. The California flag shows a bear, because the state animal of California is a bear. Each symbol shows that they are special for something, and that each society believes

When reviewing and evaluating Anne Applebaum’s article, “If the Japanese Can’t Built a Safe Reactor, Who Can?”, the speaker (student) claims that Applebaum fails at fulfilling her purpose; Applebaum relied too much on emotional appeal rather than logic, and failed to support her claims along with establishing her credibility. The student presents their position with this opening thesis and provides support to why they believe Applebaum’s article is ineffective. They do so by using direct quotes from the original article that were left unsupported; for example, the student mentions how Applebaum highlights the strengths of the Japanese: “cohesiveness, resilience, technological brilliance and extraordinary competence” but fails to cite example

Hank’s physician assistant Divya Katdare, is of Indian decent, who’s parents to do not approve of her working in the medical field. Instead, her family sticks to the traditional Indian cultural roles of arranged marriage, which eventually falls apart and becomes shunned by her parents for a time for not obeying their wishes. In this instance, we can see the cultural values of the United States beginning to shine through. Freedom to choose and marry whomever a person wants is a cultural norm and something that is prided upon by Americans. As a culture, we tend to look down on cultural traditions where individuals are forced into arranged marriages. This also goes along with stereotypical views of Indian culture. If their children do not obey the parents, they suffer from being shunned by their
At the ripe young age of sixteen, Janie is forced, by her grandma, into a marriage she did not want. She is raised “From the traditional views of the grandmother” (Maupin) so Janie must comply to Nanny’s wishes. Janie is considered a woman at her age. When Nanny sees Janie kissing a boy, old memories re-emerge that remind Nanny of how herself and her daughter were raped. She wants a better life for Janie than her own, so she immediately arranges for Janie to marry off. This is not an uncommon practice in this society to marry off at this age.
Apple Inc. has had its fair share of ethical issues whether it’s been their company or their manufacturers in other countries.
