Global Warming
Earth is constantly in the struggles of breaking down. From the extremely hot temperatures to the loss of trees, the planet we know as Earth slowly dies. A major cause of our Earth dying is due to the term we call global warming. The concept of global warming means the increase of Earth’s temperature. Global warming is just the people of Earth wasting our resources and polluting the world. People strive for larger constructions and better cars, yet all of this damage our environment. The growth of humans led to the decay of Earth. From the rise of sea level to ice caps melting, and unreasonably hot days, all of these are symptoms of what researchers call global warming. Sadly, the major cause of this crisis is mainly due to

The LiveScience, a website dedicated to spreading the news about the science and biology related information to the world states, “Scientists from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate carrying out global warming research have recently predicted that average global temperatures could increase between 1.4 and 5.8 °C by the year 2100”2 how our temperature could fly sky up if we don’t stop Global warming. Clearly, the people of Earth should do something to stop the threat of global warming.
Another issue of global warming is its effect on our glaciers. As told by the National Snow and Ice Data Center, “Gangotri glacier has retreated more than 850 meters (930 yards), with a recession of 76 meters (83 yards) from 1996 to 1999 alone”3 of the consequences of global warming. While this doesn’t seem like much, the melting of glaciers, cause rising sea levels. According to the IPCC (intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), “played the major role in raising average global sea level between four and eight inches (10 and 20 centimeters) in the past hundred years”4 tell the numbers at which the sea level is rising at. The rising sea levels would, in turn, affect our farms, wildlife, and even contaminating our drinking water. Glaciers are essentially Earth’s air conditioner, providing a cool head, but if that is gone, Earth will gradually rise in temperature, basically what is happening around us.
Global warming is just overall horrible for
The Earth is slowly being assassinated, rotted from the inside out and suffocating by the hand of our own creations. This isn’t exactly new information. With Global Warming reaching headline popularity, and being almost universally accepted, one would think drastic measures are being taken to help stop the progress or even conceivably revert them. Regrettably, this isn’t always the case. Many people push against the reforms currently needed for considerable, painstaking development. But not everyone!
One impact of climate change is rising seas levels. Sea levels will rise because when the Earth heats up, the warmer water expands shrinking shorelines; a process called thermal expansion. In addition, when glaciers melt the problem is twofold, the glaciers will release fresh water into the oceans, submerging low-lying land, threatening dense coastal populations, eroding shorelines, desecrating property, and exterminating ecosystems
The impacts of global warming are the social and environmental changes caused (directly or indirectly) by human emissions and greenhouse gases. There is a consensus that climate change is occurring among scientists, and that human activities are the primary factor. multiple impacts of climate change have already been observed, including glaciers retreat which are very common in Canada. All over the world, glaciers are melting at a very fast rate. On average, glaciers have thinned in total size by over 10 metres since 1980. The changing of rainfall patterns and the melting of multiple glaciers will indefinitely jeopardize the water supplies to hundreds of millions of people. Moreover, changes in the timing of many seasonal events; like the earlier
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which includes more than 1,300 scientists from the United States and other countries, forecasts a temperature rise of 2.5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next century”(NASA). With global warming and climate change number our time. 2.5 to 10 degrees may not seem to look like a big deal, but it is. “Effects that scientists had predicted in the past would result from global climate change are now occurring: loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves”(NASA). These are just some of the problems that are happening on
Thesis Statement: Global warming is a growing concern of scientists and researchers who believe that it is a serious problem for our planet. The concerns and research have also been questioned and have even been called myths. Millions of people find themselves affected by these weather pattern changes and are concerned for their futures. Activists on both sides of the argument are very passionate and not afraid to attack each other in every way they can. There are many questions that are still not answered, however, we continue to see drastic weather changes to Earth. We must go beyond the arguments and learn as much as we can to stop what could possibly lead to the destruction of our planet, our way of life and our future.
Various serious environmental catastrophes may result from continued global warming, one of which is rising sea levels due to the melting of polar ice caps. For the most part however, the global climate system is far too complex to make accurate predictions, but this does not mean that such issues should be ignored. Rather, we should proceed with caution.
Due to our mass pollution to the atmosphere, humans are the main cause of global warming. “Since the beginning of the 1900s, the average surface temperature of Earth has risen by 1.3 degrees Fahrenheit” (Levete, 11). Global warming leads to temperature change. Iceberg and glaciers are melting at a rapid rate. This will cause sea level to rise. The Greenland and Antarctica ice sheets “lost an average of 571 trillion pounds (259 trillion kilograms) of mass every year during the six-year study period, making the oceans rise 0.03 inches (0.7 mm)
Last but not least, global warming has caused the polar ice caps to melt. The melting of the polar ice caps will cause the sea levels to rise all over the world. If the sea levels rise just a metre
One of the effects of global warming is the melting of glaciers. The regions most affected by the melting of glaciers are Antarctica, Arctic Ocean, and Greenland ice sheets. Glaciers are important because they help the earth not to overheat. This happens because light-colored surfaces such as glaciers reflect the sun's radiations. Another reason why glaciers are important is because they are the world's first fresh water supply. Due to the increase in temperature the glaciers are melting at a faster rate causing enormous consequences. The melting of glaciers will not only leave the population without the necessary fresh water resource but is also leaving no habitat for Arctic animals like the polar bear, which is in danger of extinction. Another consequence of glacier melting is that the sea level is increasing. The sea level is rising; While the land surface is declining in some regions. DiMento wrote in his book, "Coastal infrastructure - including roads, bridges, rail lines, energy infrastructure and port facilities - and will be increasingly threatened by storm surges, which are exacerbated by rising sea levels" (DiMento, 63). The increase in sea level is also due to global warming. The increasing temperature of the oceans caused them to expand due thermal expansion, so now the oceans take more space. The rise of sea level makes possible more inundations. In the future, this effect would cause coastal populations in some regions to evacuate as a result of higher sea
Scientist from Intergovernmental Panel on climate resounding out global warming study have recently foretold that average global temperatures could upsurge between 1.4 and 5.8C by the year 2100. Changes ensuing from global warming may include growing sea levels due the melting of the polar ice caps, as well as an intensification in occurrence and harshness of storms and other severe weather events.
Earth is the only known habitable planet to support life. Over 6 billion humans and billions of other living things depend on the earth’s climate to survive. However, since the past century things start to change due to human activity as well as natural occurrences. The unpredicted weather conditions, wild fires and earth quakes have killed and displaced thousands of humans and animals, and wiped out few species from the face of the earth. Some animals and plants are facing the same fate disappearing from the face of the planet due to lack of suitable habitats. Since the beginning of modern technologies, humans have expanded the use of resources widely by adding greenhouse gases such as CO2, without understanding the consequences it might brought on the existence of all living things including their own species. Human’s action is widely believed to be cause for the rise of earth’s temperature. Climate change, which is responsible for extreme weather condition, earth quakes, and severe drought and famine. Climate change poses economical, and environmental threat to every nation. Therefore, climate change is a real event occurring every day, and affecting every living organism throughout the planet. To assess the threat posed by global warming, it is important to look at its causes and effects to present comprehensive solutions, and requires cooperation of every nation to address the issue before the problem becomes permanent.
Global warming has become a very big problem in our world today. It has created everything from bad air quality to water pollution in our world. These are just some of the consequences of global warming. However, I would like to speak on one topic as it regards to global warming. We have now discovered that global warming is causing our polar ice caps to melt thus creating rising sea levels. This has become a very large topic, and many scientists are scrambling to find solutions to stop this problem. If the rising sea level isn’t fixed we will see a massive amount of damage caused to our coasts, and coasts around the world for that matter. The consequences would also be dire for my home state of Florida. Florida is susceptible to rising sea levels because so much of the land is barely above sea level. The consequences in Florida would be detrimental. Consequences of rising sea levels could affect our economy, human quality of life, and the environment.
It’s quite alarming how global warming affects the world. Imagine the world’s coolest places, the Arctic and Antarctica with its ice melting and pouring significant amount of water to the sea. The sea levels are rising fast, weather conditions change rapidly and sometimes getting more unpredictable.
As the years pass, you may have noticed that the days just seem to get hotter and hotter, summers seem endless and winters fly by in an instant. Scientists explain this phenomena with the theory of global warming, the idea that the increasing amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are trapping enormous amounts of heat and causing the earth to become warmer and warmer. Some scientists believe that recent human activates are the cause of the increase of greenhouse gases, while others disagree, and believe it’s just the natural trend of global climate. Although not everyone agrees on the cause of global warming, something all can agree on is the fact that global warming is altering the planet, which in turn is affecting the human
One of the most serious effects of global warming, as it continues to intensify, is the increase in the ocean levels. Thermal expansion of the ocean and glacial melting are likely to cause a .5 to 1.5 meter rise in the ocean level by the year 2100. As the ocean level rises and if no protection is provided, many freshwater supplies could be jeopardized. Tens and possibly hundreds of millions of
