In life we have¬¬¬ three things we should focus on our goals, objectives, and success in life. We always have goals to reach whether it is small goals or big goals. Many people would define goals as an achievement made but Webster dictionary defines it as something that you are trying to do or achieve. Goals can vary in many factors whether your goals are to be rich, humble, or have a family. Many people do not realize that you can’t just have goals and meet them. Instead you should set up steps to achieve them. That is were objectives come in objectives is defined as concrete attainments that can be achieved by following a certain number of steps. When we have goals for example say you want to get an A on your next test you just don’t go and take the test and get an A.
Instead you set up steps or objectives to get that A you can say for example a week before the test I want to a least review three chapters of the book. After you have reached that objective you have gotten closer to your goal. After that step you set up more and when test day comes you are ready to take the test. After you have taken the test and you see that you got the grade you wanted and you have succeeded for reaching your goal. Being successful is something everyone wants whether it is being a successful Doctor or a successful Engineer. Success is defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.
As an engineer student I have three sets of goals my short-term goals my intermediate goals as well
Goals are a part of everyday life. From gaining the strength to get out of bed in the morning to winning that blue medal around your neck, everybody has made a goal once in their life. Sometimes it can be as easy as saying you’re not going to eat that last cupcake on the platter in front of you or as hard as saying “Hello” to that special someone in your life that you find adorable, either way you have made a goal. It’s also important to remember there is short term goals and long term goals. Short term goals are easier to achieve and can be very helpful in leading up to your long term goals. We can even classify our goals into personal goals, academic goals, and professional goals, as well as others.

My more long terms goals relate specifically to my college degree, such as complete college in four years, get into a good
These smaller goals can span any amount of time, short-term or long-term (Massey, 2014). Having smaller sub-goals will help make the main goal appear more achievable, and celebrating the completion of each of these sub-goals will serve as a catalyst to keep the student excited and motivated as they continue along their educational journey (Williams, 2014). By not setting smaller goals and missing larger goals, students will get discouraged and feel like failures (Williams, 2011).
In order to be successful academically there are some things we need to know, goal setting is one of them and maybe not a lot of us know how to meet educational goals without getting side tracked by other things that are going on in our life. I had no idea how much I needed to think about how I would help myself continuing my academic success until this general education class I had to take opened my mind to new ideas. The efforts to reaching a goal begin with self-discipline and confidence that accomplishing the goals with being another milestone completed within the timeframe allotted. Reviewing each goal over and over is something that will happen on a regular basis until satisfaction of the results. Making one’s self-accountable to family and friends is one of the best ways to reach a goal. The family and friends support an individual with his or her vision to do better in life. Determining the big picture of the goals, selecting activities to help achieve goals and choosing daily tasks to make up the chosen goal is heading in a positive direction (Laureate Education,
“Keep your goals out of reach, but not out of sight.” –Anonymous. All goals in life should be challenging, or a dream you have. Objectives are the actual elements upon which you take action. Objectives ask and answer two questions. What must I do in the foreseeable future to impact achievement? and What is the logical progression of actions towards achievement? The first question lays out the positive, progressive steps required to achieve your goal. The second question lays out the priority of your objectives. Objectives create accountability and measurability.

In the article Aims, Goals and Objectives, Nel Noddings states that “Aims are used not only to derive goals and objectives but also to evaluate them.” (Noddings, Aims, Goals and Objectives, 2007). She also believes that educational aims should be directed towards making the lives of everyone full and satisfying as opposed to changing all people into members of the educational elite (Noddings, Aims, Goals and Objectives, 2007). Reflecting on these points has brought up a facet of the aims argument that I had not previously considered and has helped me identify areas for improvement in my teaching career. In the paragraphs that follow, I will first provide a summary of the article that details the author’s main ideas and key points and then I
Before glancing at the steps to achieve a goal it is crucial to organize a goal plan. One of the methods to organize a goal plan is using the DAPPS principle. The DAPPS principle makes certain a goal is dated, achievable, personal, positive, and specific. Dating a goal is securing that each goal includes a deadline regarding when it has to be achieved. By not dating a goal the odds of actually reaching the goal are extremely slim. Making sure a goal is achievable implies not setting unrealistic goals. For example, when I was seven I set a goal to go to the moon by the time that turns eight. My goal wasn't very realistic/achievable, however, if I executed a goal of learning about the moon would have been an achievable goal. Personalising

In order to become a world-class engineering student, I will have to expand my goals and prioritize them into categories of immediate, short-term and long-term goals. My immediate goals include completing assignments by their due date, reading the assigned material before it is discussed in class and being fully prepared to face the next day of classes. Short-term goals include doing well in each of my courses, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, and learning about the engineering profession by participating in student engineering societies. Long-term goals include graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within the engineering community as well as the general community.
