While in high school my GPA was below a 2.0 and that was because I was involved in many sports that I had a strong passion for. I was very driven and dedicated, that most of my free time went into trying to be the best on the softball field and on the wrestling mat in hopes of receiving a scholarship. As an athlete you only needed a 2.0 GPA to compete and at that time I did not focus too much on exceeding that standard.

Hello, I am Qwontanney Major, a lover of music, old and current, photography, film, fashion, and food. I am 19 years old, and the second oldest of five children. We were all raised by my mother, and recently reconnected with our father. My family on my mothers’ side comes from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and Port-au-Prince Delmas 36, Haiti, and my family on my fathers’ side comes from Freeport, Bahamas.

Growing up in a small town, with the knowledge of a small town community can have an effect on you. Having the respect and dignity to know between right and wrong adds and interesting aspects into a life style. Growing up in a small community makes you realize what it is like to have small class rooms and having your teachers know you by a first name basis.Knowing everyone on each sport team because “everyone knows everyone in a small town”. I had the ability to be able to ride my bike down the street without a real question of my safety where I grew up in Worland Wyoming. I have different academic interests than others may, I enjoy different extracurricular activities than other students, and life experiences that are unlike anyone else that have shaped me into who I am today.

Coming into college, I was very eager to take advantage of the opportunities presented to me. I remember in high school thinking how wonderful it would be to pick my own classes, join organizations that aren’t just existent to put on one’s resume, and learn from instructors who have more knowledge of and experience in the area I’m studying. My first year was tough since my sister just moved out and my mother and I had to find a new home which affected me a great amount as I ended my first semester with a GPA of 3.0. As life progressed I realized why I have always had the urge to devote my life to the law. My ultimate purpose in life is to make a positive difference in this country and leave my mark such as Joseph Pistone (former FBI agent). I rose from having a GPA of a 3.0 to currently holding a 3.86 after a year by grasping the challenge of switching to A.D. Henderson University School/ FAU High school. Revising my schedule I realized that it would be better if I start work after I finish my undergraduate studies, my last day being May 26. The vision that I have for my future and career is a positive one. I started my MBA program at GCU with a positive attitude, determination to stay in the program and complete it successfully. My desire and vision after I complete my program is to take up a new challenge of starting my own small business in the area of non-medical Care Giving Services. This business will give me a great deal of opportunities to utilize all that I’ve learnt throughout my program. Through the small business that I’m looking to set up, I will have the opportunity to offer quality Care Giving Services to clients who have disabilities of one form or another. Not all clients get the quality care that they deserve in the care giving business, so I will focus on rendering loving and compassionate care that will make life easier for our clients.
