Fred Durst, the frontman of the American nu metal band from Jacksonville, Florida - Limp Bizkit, had claimed that he and his band were "somehow" the backbone of the sought after Guns N' Roses reunion. However, it has been said that the original frontman of Guns N' Roses - Axl Rose, plans to end his music career for good after the band's reunion. The organizers are still in talks whether the original members of Guns N' Roses will be performing on the same stage again after they split up. And it seems that the reunion is kicking off after Axl Rose and lead guitarist Slash have already reconciled after a long conflict. During the recent gig of Limp Bizkit at the Reading festival, Durst made a shout out to the crowd, "I'd like you to know that we're responsible for Axl and Slash being back together," Fred Durst also said, "We had a meeting, and it went really well." And when Fred Durst was asked by a spectator about his role in a possible Guns 'N Roses reunion, Fred Durst said that he has "a strong feeling that there's going to be a Guns N' Roses tour coming up ... So you better get your tickets when they go on sale. That's all I can say." …show more content…

This book brings you on the journey of each member’s journey. Bassist Nikki Sixx lived a life revolving around girls, drugs, alcohol, and rock and roll. With having his mom arrested at age 14 and attempting to stealing his first bass guitar only to realize it was a regular electric guitar Nikki Sixx grew up challenging the laws. Guitarist Mick Mars was into music from a young age where as time progressed he started writing down all his ideas in a notebook such as there band name Mötley Crüe just in a different form. Drummer Tommy Lee grew up a more comforted childhood receiving a snare drum for Christmas buying the rest on his own later. Tommy joined the school drum line where he learned tricks and stuff to do with drumsticks and drums. After skipping school and misbehaving his parents moved and he met Vince at his new school. Vocalist Vince Neil lived the rock star life even in high school where he was a legend and already in a band. Not only does this book take you on a journey of the members but also it takes you on a journey of their struggles. Mötley Crüe struggled to become famous due to the New Wave music, which they later helped kill off at the US Festival. The band struggled even more with getting a record deal then with becoming famous. No record company wanted to sign this band of degenerates who are playing rock and metal music when what was in was New Wave. Mötley Crüe very often struggled with fights and criticism for what they look like and how they sing. Their other major fight that they constantly battled was girls, with abusive girlfriends like Honey and Bullwinkle. The band in there early days usually used women for four purposes Food, Alcohol, Drugs, and
On the official Rock Hall website, they list Pearl Jam’s current lineup, as well as original drummer Dave Krusen, as potential inductees, but left out other former drummer: Dave Abbruzzese, who has now responded publicly.
The Grateful Dead, the most popular so called underground band of all time. This band has underwent many changes, some good and others bad throughout their thirty or so years of performing. I plan to prove that a band that has remained together for thirty plus years isn’t as easy as many would assume. In fact I would have to say the “down” times in the band almost equal the outrageously great time they had. Despite all the down times the amazing music of the Grateful Dead always made it possible to bring smiles to empty faces anytime anywhere. Even now that the bands figure head (Jerry Garcia) has passed on, the family that he created (Deadheads) and left behind will never forget him or his music.
Furthermore, Led Zeppelin's music has left a lasting legacy that influenced music over four decades and influenced many elements in today's American popular culture. Led Zeppelin has sold millions of albums worldwide. Not only did they influence their generation of music, but also influenced the American music that is created today. "They were the first band to prove hard rock was a genre that a lengthy career could be built off," (Grant). In the 1970's, bands such as The Cars, The Who, Bad Company, and Lynard Skynard were greatly influenced by Led Zeppelin, creating a heavier rock n' roll sound. They were the first few bands to use elements Led Zeppelin created. In the 1980's, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, and Guns and Roses also experimented with similar riffs, sounds, and style that Led Zeppelin created. Three decades later, you can still find similar sounds and style that was incorporated into Led Zeppelin style. Bands known for this include Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Hooty and the Blowfish. Of course, there are hundreds of
A third thing they have in common is their fans (Deadheads and Phans). The Grateful Dead and Phish have both established quite a following. These fans follow their favorite band around the country to see their shows(this phan has been to over 25 Phish shows). They also collect their favorite shows on cd-r or tape, since both bands have an open taping policy at their concerts. By doing this, Phish and the Dead opened up a new hobby; and other bands have gone along with open taping (e.g. Dave Matthews Band, Moe., Bela Fleck).
The group lived out the heavy metal lifestyle to the max. From getting addicted to drugs, to the different unthinkable mishaps these guys did it all. Yet, most of the off stage activities were turned into album and song titles for the band. Vince Neil, the lead vocalist, ran into many complications with alcohol, but one of the most memorable was when he was accused of vehicular manslaughter. Neil was driving while intoxicated when he got into a head on car accident and killed the passenger in the car. Nicholas Dingley is the man who got killed, and the album Theater of Pain, was dedicated to him in remembrance of his life. Another incident with drugs involved Nikki Sixx, who suffered with a heroin addiction for over a year. The last time he used heroin he overdosed, and according to the first responders they declared him dead on the scene. However, the paramedic who showed up on the scene was a Motley Crue fan, so he did everything he could and ended up giving him an injection and revived Sixx. From this situation, the song Kickstart My Heart came about. Even with all these activities, the band used them to benefit the popularity of the
“Sweet Child O’ Mine” is a song created by the band known as Guns N’ Roses or GNR. Guns N’ Roses is a metal, rock group. Their band consists of members, Axl Rose (vocals), Duff McKagan (bass guitarist), Slash (lead guitarist), Izzy Stradlin (rhythm Guitar), and Steven Adler (Drummer). Guns N’ Roses performs classic Rock N’ Roll and Metal. In 1985, the band formed in Los Angeles, California and were not very popular the year that they formed. Axl dropped out of high school with a police record and then formed the band. Axl found the original rhythm guitarist, Izzy Stradlin, and together they formed a band. They became more popular around 1986 when they got signed to Geffen Records. The name comes from the lead singer Axl “Rose” and the band’s starting guitarist Tracii “Guns.” After approximately three months, Tracii Guns was replaced by Slash, who became the lead guitarist. This band has a conflicting name because guns usually represent violence and roses a sign of peace and love. Guns N’ Roses released six studio records that have sold over 100 million records
Slash has played solos with a couple of famous artists, such as Michael Jackson in his Billy Jean concert. In 1985 he joined Guns N’ Roses, and played with them until 1996 but is coming to perform with them this year in El Paso.
After a long tragic four-year break-up the boys are back and determined to save rock and roll. If their comeback suggests delusion of grandeur, they’re only picking up where they left off.
Bill Kreutzmann, the "heartbeat" of the Grateful Dead, had been behind a kit since the age of eleven when Jerry Garcia met him in 1962. His early love of drums allowed him to be heavily involved in the "rock and roll" scene. As a teen, Kreutzmann even created rock in roll bands in which to play, as the interest was barely there. After meeting
All was not well within the band, however. Rising tensions between Roth and the other band members were increasingly evident; on their 1984 world tour the band didn't even play on the same stage, but rather performed on four separate platforms, symbolic of the escalating rift among its members. Finally, in 1985, after taking time off to record a successful solo album (and delaying work on the follow-up to 1984) Roth parted ways with Van Halen. This group proved to be the starting point of heavy metal, starting out in the 1970’s and continuing through the first half of the 1990’s.
Throughout their years at the top they were shrouded in mystery and intrigue, and seemed to leave behind a trail of question marks wherever they went. They were not a “public” band (they didn’t hire a
