Halloween Hauntings by Hailey Heaphy The night before Halloween, Hailey and Lucas went to take their dog Harley for a walk. Even though it was only 8pm, it was pitch black outside. While Hailey was scared of the dark, Lucas was not. During the walk, they came across three very scary houses, so scary even Lucas was scared! First, was an abandoned house. The windows were broken, and the door was missing, but one single light was flickering. Hailey ran scared, while Lucas was laughing. Next, they came upon a very old house. Smoke was coming from the chimney but the house looked like it hasn’t been touched in years. Suddenly, the wind blew and all the shutters blew open! Hailey screamed! Scared to continue, Hailey wanted to go home but Lucas talked

Robin Wood, the author of "The American Nightmare: Horror in the 70s" does an extraordinary job in explaining American Horror Films and how it is that they provokes fear to the public. A very important topic in his article is the topic of repression. Wood takes the term repression (a type of holding down) a step further and categorizes it into two different types. One type being basic repression and the second one being surplus repression. Basic repression is described by Wood as "universal, necessary, and inescapable." Robin would argue that basic repression is a process in which all humans have or will go through at some point in their life. Basic repression is what allows us to become distinguishable mammals. It's the ability to remain
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when someone says, haunted houses? Scary? Ghosts? Studies show that people hear and see things that aren’t there when they are scared or frightened. Leading them to report “paranormal” activity. Haunted houses make people do that. But, in order to successfully understand the Amityville haunting, one must know the murderer of the family, the other family who purchased the home, and how the haunting of the house started.
Every individual some times, needs to be a member of something, a team, a council, a intimate group or even a gang. In the story, "The Haunting of House Hill," we see where the leaning for social acknowledgment turns out to be such a vital component among the character known as Eleanor Vance. Gotten between being a whimsical casualty of others, Eleanor Vance needed to be in a spot where she'll feel acknowledged, cherished, and could call her own. Could this place be what she's been chasing down all her life? Maybe, or it could swing to be a profoundly occupied spot where the individuals who don't have a place can experience loathsome results.
Suena was walking home and she felt like she was being followed, but she thought it was because of the horror movie she watched the night before. It was about a twenty minute walk for Surena to get home and she often enjoyed but that day she didn’t enjoy it. When she got home there was a note on her fridge from her mother saying she’ll be back in a couple of hours and that there was leftovers in the fridge. She still had that icky feeling that someone was watching her, she kept saying in her head that it was just the horror movie scaring her. Her dog Belle was eating the couch again, when her mom got home she’d be mad. Surena went up stairs to her bedroom and forgot to lock the door that day, when her mother warned her many times before to
It was October 31st, 1999, one windy, cold, and dark Halloween night. Three friends, McKenzie, Baylee, and Vanessa decided they wanted to stay home alone while Baylee’s parents were at work. She told everyone she lived in a “hell house” all her life because there was constantly something going on. Doors flying open, voices, footsteps. Nothing ever stayed where they had put it. Her parents worked all the time and she was constantly terrified. On Halloween it tended to get worse but no one had ever believed her.
On a dark and creepy day on Halloween night some kids were going trick or treating but not all of them. Except the three Jameson kids who decided to stay home this year. The oldest boy’s name is Tommy, the middle child is a girl and her name is Sara lastly the youngest boy’s name is Tyrone. Before the permission from their mom, she has warned them about the missing kids who didn't decide to participate in Halloween last year who went off to do whatever they wanted and were missing so she is hopeful that they are not planning on going anywhere this halloween. An hour passed by and they realized that it was only 11:00 and Halloween wasn’t over yet. On the other hand, they were not even receiving candy so Tommy has come up with an idea that instead of staying in the house empty handed; he has something else in mind. Maybe we can sneak out the house and go to the haunted mansion by the gloomy corn field. Sarah did not agree, but it will be better than staying in the house. Tyrone agrees with anything but he just wants a piece of candy before the night is over.

The Night She Disappeared by April Henry starts at a pizza place called Pete’s Pizza. A girl named Kayla and a guy named Drew work there like many teenagers who work part-time jobs that are fairly routine. Little did either Kayla or Drew know that letting another girl named Gabie and Kayla switch shifts would be a mistake. They didn’t know that this routine switch would actually result in the kidnapping of Kayla. It is only after this tragic event that Gabie realizes that the person ordering on the phone had asked if the girl in the Mini Cooper would be delivering that night. What Gabie didn’t know at the time was that John Robertson was actually planning to kidnap Gabie, not Kayla
I turned on my flashlight, it was the first thing that came to my mind. As, the bright light flashed its way on, were the “shadow” I saw a couple seconds ago was gone, it must have gone back into the house have to check this out. I decided to go into the “Haunted Mansion”, I walked in and every step I took, the wooden floor made a loud “CREAK!!!” The lights are so dim, that you can’t see anything far away into the darkness, this was literally a maze. I walked until I noticed there was a staircase heading up to this second floor. I took a couple steps towards the stairs then All of sudden, the most creepiest sound in history of sounds filled my ears, it was the sound of tiny footsteps of children running around… I took one step onto the stairs and it made a huge noise. Then the running noise stopped. I listen, my heart stopped……
As I was walking back from school with my friends, Will and Alex, we were talking about what we were going to do tonight for Halloween. The teachers seem to be really concerned about us, telling us not to go by ourselves but rather go in big groups or with our parents for trick or treating, like were 13, we can handle ourselves. Mr. Robert our history teacher was telling all the kids that he hates Halloween because it symbolizes the devil and demons. He was yelling at another student, I forgot her name but she was saying that she was going to dress up as the devil and try to summon other demons he was not having it, he kicked her out immediately. As she was leaving she said something weird speaking gibberish something like “Ligandum eos

“So kids, every Halloween, it is said that her ghost, roams the empty hallways of this very school, searching for another female student to take her place.” The students were now on the edge of their wooden seats, eyes wide, listening to every word Mr. Morris said. All of a sudden the loud bell breaks the silence, making each one of them jump.
“In the year of 1989, there was a street named Elm, in the state of Wyoming. Few chose to live on that street, and they all knew about the haunted house, up on the hill, on the west side of town, coming off of Elm. Once, I spent the week with some friends and, Halloween came upon us, while I stayed with them.” I was telling my first-grade brother and his friends stories to scare them out of their wits. Besides, no one wants little kids tagging along with you to go trick or treating, when you could go with your friends to Haunted Houses, and not ones set up by the town hall. “We were just about to pass the house, not thinking anything of it, when we heard a moan coming from Old Man Reaper’s house.” Their eyes grew wide with fear.
