Since the 1950s everyone in America has known of the major problem plaguing southern and western Chicago streets: extreme amounts unnecessary of violence. This topic has become even more publicly known with the recent presidential election between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, where Trump spoke about the violence on multiple occasions as well as taking the topic to twitter a few times (Chicago Still Isn’t). Also, the number of murders, homicides, and other regular crimes all increased dramatically in 2016, breaking almost all statistics from previous years. Even though the violence does create jobs in the police force, the violence needs to be
Due to many changes in health service organizations’ internal and external environment, planning can be sometimes onerous (Longest & Darr, 2008, p. 366). Therefore, a well thought strategic plan will guide leaders and keep them focus on the organization’s mission. In health service organizations, strategic planning is emanated at the top level of the pyramid, then pass down to others in leadership positions (Longest & Darr, 2008, p. 366). A strategic planning process consists of many steps: a situational analysis, external environment analysis, internal environment analysis, strategy formulation, strategic implementation, and strategic control. As mentioned before, health service organization faced many challenges, a strategic planning not only helps with planning, controlling, and decision making, but it also allows management to analyze their strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities and threats. The MAPP Task Force and subcommittee members determined that the feasibility factors and scoring of the factors should be as followed: 1 if the answer is "yes" and 0 if the answer is "no." (uic.edu, 2004.). Due to the interconnectedness of the health problems (i.e. obesity, diabetes and CVD; Tobacco use and cancer, etc), the members have determined that reducing these health issues within Pierce County is economically and legally feasible. Multiple health care entities and the Pierce County health systems understand that prevention will be key and that by combining resources, addressing the health issues will become more manageable (chfs.ky.gov, n.d.). In my opinion, there are many reasons on why the Chicago’s Housing Authority’s “Plan for Transformation” creates more problems that it solved. The Plan for Transformation pursues to demolish all low-income high-rise building in Chicago. Because of that, in some ways, the Plan for Transformation are continuing racial and class segregation, as thousands of residents were displaced to the poorer south and west sides of Chicago. Thus, in my opinion, all these situations caused the poor African-Americans to be concentrated at the same place and lead them to have more social ties and denser networks that lead to more crimes and deviance among them.
