The Model T,known as the “Tin Lizzie,” changed the way Americans lived, worked and traveled. Henry Ford’s revolutionary advancements in assembly-line automobile manufacturing made the Model T the first car to be affordable for a majority of Americans. For the first time car ownership became a reality for average American workers, not just the wealthy. More than 15 million Model Ts were built in Detroit and Highland Park, Michigan, and the automobile was also assembled at a Ford plant in Manchester, England, and at plants in continental Europe. Henry Ford thought it as a practical, affordable transportation for the common man. Quickly The Model T became prized for its low cost, durability, versatility, and ease of maintenance. Assembly-line production allowed the price of the touring car version to be lowered from $850 in 1908 to less than $300 in 1925. At slim prices The Model T at times comprised as much as 40 percent of all cars sold in the United States. Even before it lost favour to larger, more powerful, and more luxurious cars, The Model T, had become an American folkloric symbol, essentially Ford’s goal to democratize the automobile and make it affordable had come

With the success of the assembly line, Ford was very please however he had a bigger goal set. Ford wanted to produce cheap cars for the common people to use. Ford made many different types of cars and experimented with each of them. They were all good but not good enough. After many different models, Ford achieved his goal with his invention of the Ford Model T. The Model T was a fully functional compact automobile with a good transmission and torque as well as comfort and size. Apart from that, the most important aspect of the Model T was that is was extremely cheap. As Sobel states,”...the model T was only worth $290 in 1924.” This was a huge
The automobile industry put American citizens into action. Mass production was a big component in the success of automobiles. Although successful, it became very repetitive. Skilled workers who were once worshipped, were no longer needed. Henry Ford was described as racist, bitter, but he brought success to citizens in the 1920s. Ford started the Ford Motor Company in 1903 with the help of a limited amount of workers in a shed. It was not until 1914 where custom-made cars turned into many cars, such as the Model T, moving down an assembly line. The Model T was a very popular car that benefitted cheap labor and easy mobility for its owners. Ford became a billionaire from the help of the federal government’s actions. Henry Ford revolutionized the American automotive industry and forever changed transportation. Born on the morning of July 30, 1863 in a patch of Michigan woods, Henry Ford matured into the founder of the Ford Motor Co. that made the Ford name famous. The Ford Motor Co. would develop American automotive icons that continue to make a lasting impression.
In 1908 Henry Ford had constructed the Model T; the time it took him to create this automobile was 13 days. Now eager to achieve more, Ford knew that he needed a place to construct these cars. He also knew that to sell mass amounts he would have to sell cheap, and buy parts and supplies even cheaper (Douglas, 25). The construction of the first Ford Motor plant used the world’s only conveyer belt. This was part of the Fords plan to build fast, when he constructed the assembly line cars were pumped out in as fast as 15 minuets, this was down from 19 days. Ford was able to make the automobile a car for everyman, a working man with a family.
Henry Ford was a self-sufficient man, he is greatly known for initiating the era of mass consumption and mass production in the American economy. Revolutionizing our world and opening up countless numbers of opportunities, the car changed society in the most drastic of ways. Many people believe that the first car was invented by Henry Ford, but in fact, that is not true. There are many different views on who actually invented it. In 1886, a German man named Karl Benz was credited for manufacturing the first car. It was not until the early 20th century that the model car was produced in masses. This is where Henry Ford comes in. Henry Ford played a major part in the automobile industry, but not for the reasons we think. Ford was the creator of the assembly line, allowing cars to be built in masses. This required large teams of skilled engineers. The car was brought to the worker, who performed the same task on every car over and over again. This reduced the time to build a Model T from twelve and a half hours, to less than six. Ford “revolutionized the automobile worldwide, creating a car that was practical and affordable” (Philbin). Ford’s car, later named the Model T, sold over 15 million by May 26, 1927. He had half the worlds market in his hands. From 1908 to 1927, the price of the automobile decreased from $950 to less than $300. The automobile at the start was only affordable for the wealthy, but because of Ford's assembly line, people in lower classes were able to afford it. Transportation before the Model T was a luxury only bought by

The person who takes credit for the first is Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot, a French military engineer who built the steam-powered tricycle for hauling artillery in 1769. Tricycle means it only had three wheels. The single front wheel performed both wheel functions and steering. It could drive at a speed of 2.25 miles per hour with four passengers within 15 minutes. Henry Ford is also given credit for the first automobile. Henry Ford invented the Model T the Model T changed the way people lived, worked, and traveled the way that Ford made this was through an assembly line. Also the assembly line made the Model T affordable to the majority of America. This way that the average working man could afford the car and not just a wealthy man. There was more the 15 Million Model Ts built in Michigan. The Model T was built from 1908 until 1927. This was made so that it is a affordable transportation for the common man. This became very popular for the very low price, durability, versatility, and easy to maintenance. The use of the assembly line saved the cost from in 1908 of $850 all the was to $300 in 1925. Even before it lost popularity to larger, or more powerful, and more comfortable cars, it was known as “Tin Lizzy” and “flivver.” These had became American folkloric symbol, Ford's goal was to democratize the automobile. The Model T was offered in several different body styles. One of the cars was a two seater runabout car. Another car was a five seater car. The last one was a seven seat town car. All of these bodies were put onto a 100 inch wheelbase chassis. It was usually available to have a color of your choice but from 1913 through 1925 the only color they had manufactured was black. The fuel tank also held ten gallons. If the Model T was driven fast it would be less comfortable because of it rattling. People don't usually get in a car and think wow i wonder how this car was made. They will just go throughout the motion that they always do and think nothing about it. The only time you ever take a look and think about how it was made is when something bad happens.
Henry Ford revolutionized the way people traveled throughout the nation of the United States. A short time after the first model T rolled off of the assembly line, Mr. Ford found the need to create a vehicle that would ease the burden of caring for the horses that pulled the wagons and saved time for his fellow workers. The model T pickup was born! No more horses to care for, no more strapping the carriage to the horse, and defiantly no more poop to scoop. How did Mr. Ford create so much value for the people? By recognizing there was a need to take care of, a want to fulfill, and a demand to meet.

Not only did Ford contribute his automobile, but he introduced ideas like the assembly line and through the popularity of the automobile built up industries like oil and rubber(American). Henry Ford was a man who contributed a lot to the people of his time, but not everyone felt the same way about him.
Henry Ford’s legacy began early whenever he created a self propelled wagon, but his work began to get notoriety in October of 1908 with the introduction of the Model T. This car was the first of its kind, and was fully manufactured by Ford in the United States. Henry’s goal was to produce a car that was affordable to every household income. “The Model T made its debut in 1908 with a purchase price of $825.00. Over ten thousand were sold in its first year, establishing a new record. Four years later the price dropped to $575.00 and sales soared. By 1914, Ford could claim a 48% share of the automobile market.” (Sorenson, "Henry Ford Changes the World, 1908.") The original price was in the average household’s budget, but when the price dropped four years later there was a ten times increase in the amount of Model T’s sold. Another great idol in the worlds eyes began his trek to success one century later, and has innovated his industry such as Ford did. Steve Jobs, “The Father of Apple Inc.”,
